I was actually gonna be a chump and buy the SE but now it seems they have stopped taking reserves on it everywhere I have checked. Quantity I guess?
SC-3000 is all I needed to see to get me to buy it
stop crying about it is so simple just dont buy it! no one is puttin a gun on your head to spend more money on a special edition, is your choice
@GatsuBlackSword are you effin kiddin? are you the type of people that doesnt enjoy a good ost?? omfg sorry for you mate. sorry for the peeps that cant enjoy everything in a game like the music
With Jake's unintentional revealing of the glaring differences in the American and European versions of the collector's editions for this game, there's also a trend that I've noticed with Ubisoft lately: they've been showing favoritism towards Europeans with their collector's editions..I first noticed it with the Assassin's Creed II collector's editions. With that one, Europeans got the much better Black Edition with the cooler black-accented Ezio statue and an extra in-game level than what we got in the Master Assassin's Edition. And now the differences are even more evident on how much better the European collector's edition is for this game too.I don't know if it's because of their French roots or what it is, but it's starting to look like Ubisoft prefers to give the better goods to the Europeans.
Here is how you fight sheet like this. Buy it used in like 4 or 5 months after it is released. Then tell Ubi Soft they can eat your butt on the DLC crap. Video games are starting to become something way different than just a hobby 100 dollars a game? No thanks!
i'm tired of bending over and taking it up the @#$ from game companies that think people like me with a kid have the extra money to spend on deluxe editions so we can have everything at the same time as those who can afford it. It's not right!
man thats bulllllllllll
@Quixotic_Noble I completely agree withyou. Iv even posted a heated comment on how jake writes nothing but negative crap trying to stir up stuff and cause drama. Aldo, if you really like a game than limited editions are pretty cool, because its worth it.@jakeI dont know you personally so ill keep this on a brighter side. Im sure youve got some writing talent, so dont waste it. Try to keep the drama for Fox news or The Real World alright man?
Remember when you unlocked cool features in a game instead of shelling out $20 or more for them? Ahh, those where the days...I'll probably still get this game, but I'll stick with the standard edition.
ok let me get this straight Jakey. You show the trailer for a new SC: Conviction limited edition and complain about the excess of special edition, if your really upset talk to naughty dog and theirs for Uncharted 2. You only got if you won a contest. lame. Back on topic you failed to mention that this is only going to be distributed to the European, Mid East, and Pacific markets. How big is G4's viewers in those markets? I am sure you have a decent following in the UK but your complaining is lame. You shouldn't complain about limited edtions. they are only lame when they are not true limited edtions and they are continued to be made years after release. Or at the very least complain about the region discrimination. Limited Editions are for fan boys and I enjoy a lot of the goodies they include.
Well guys maybe that mode is one of those extra modes that weren't going to be in it anyways and will probably will be in the marketplace soon after release. Also, maybe it could be like the weapons, you get early access to that mode because it maybe like those games where you unlock new modes for doing stuff in game like Halo ODST with maps for Firefight.
It's ironic that this video was released after the article about Collectors Editions was done. I think this looks interesting with all the DLC, but who really cares about the OST? I would never listen to it. The price point is a huge issue, are we looking at $89 or $99 not good Ubisoft.
I refuse to buy a special edition to get the complete game (ie all game types). In addition, spending $60 on a game that I know doesn't include all game types, won't happen either. I love SC and was looking forward to this game, but Ubisoft just lost my money and support for this game. Adding something like the gold plated hammerburst or lancer made me buy GoW2's Collector's Edition. It wasn't something that my buddies buying the standard edition had, but they still could play with me. That made it worth it. Having a game type that my friends don't is useless to me. Dev's learn from Epic's model. They offered fun, cool stuff that was an incentive. Plus, they offered a Map Pack (Through Back) for free to those that bought a new copy and sold it to those that bought a used copy. They got their money for the used copy without screwing anyone. Chasing $$ on the limited editions that screws a huge portion of your fan base will just hurt the size of your fan base. Ubisoft your Splinter Cell fan base is now one fewer!
Aww, Thats worse than Console exclusivity is Continent exclusivity.
ok ok ok i got it now where the heck could i pre-order it???????????????????????????? ?????
Jake, this video is for the European collector's edition of the game (the PEGI logo at the beginning of the video is a good clue to that). The North American version of the collector's edition that's detailed in the original link in this article is VERY different from this. By comparing the two, yeah I'd say the Europeans got the better deal out of this one.
Is this also for NA or Europe only?
Infiltration looks like the Arkham Stealth challenges
