I really liked the question at the end about education and video games, i think it should be discussed further in another episode.

I'm going to have to say that was one of the most well rounded Feedback discussions of all the time. I will agree that reader question was very good, and instead of posting a long rant about my opinions on video games and education together, I'll just say I agree with the majority of what you guys said.

What a breath of fresh air it was to see such a spirited discussion, and I think it shows how diverse we as gamers can be. We don't just sit and play and escape from life. We sit and play, and a lot of us appreciate what we are doing, and try to understand it, on as many levels as possible. As shown with such discussion about what it could to do if it had a role in education. I think it takes us back to a previous episode of Feedback where Blair commented on how the people who judge the industry from the outside in, don't really know what it means to be a gamer. That stereotype of that "gamer" has easily died entering 2010 I feel, and maybe video games will get some well deserved attention for what the medium can actually do.

To finalize here, look at how big of an impact movies, and various other video sources had on education. So many classes use them to show kids something instead of just read it to them. Taking it one step further in some cases, and letting kids "explore" that. Even if it was just a game where all you did was explore and solve puzzles, say in a historical timeline. That sense of immersion you get really helps you learn it, not just take in the information. The difference being that when you learn it, you keep it with you. Again, thank you guys for a great discussion this week.

I'm disappointing that DA: Origins didn't make it to the game of the year nominees.
