Great list you guys put together. As long as there's no Halo 3: ODST or Left 4 Dead 2, I'm good, because neither of those games deserved it.

P.S. I hope Uncharted 2 dosen't take all the awards.

Street Fighter IV - console version. Arcade was 2008. Beautiful game, beautiful gameplay, horrible music. lol

i agree with playing more than than the \"almighty list\" judges. I've always thought that \"don't judge a book by its cover\" is very true in the gaming industry. Always be open to different styles, controls, and gameplay.

For the most part, I completely agree with your short lists for the various \"Best of '09\" awards. However, I noticed how almost half of the games (22 out of 48) have been released in the past 3 months, including 4 out of the 5 \"Game of the Year\" candidates. Also, you have Borderlands which you rated a 4/5 up for Game of the Year, while a 5/5 game like Boom Blox Bash Party isn't up for an award in any category. Do you think the novelty and newness of the current games cloud your memories of games you loved back in February and March, or are these recent games genuinely superior to those released earlier?
