Get the most out of your DVD player with the LG BD-390 where you can not only watch Blu-ray and standard DVDs in 1080p but also stream online videos with its built in Wi-fi. Find out what else you can get for its $249 price tag.
What You Need To Know
This Blu-ray player is a little larger than we're used to seeing, mainly because of all the outputs.
Outputs include HDMI Out, Component Out, Composite Out, Co-Ax and Digital Optical Audio Out, and a 7.1 Analog Audio Out.
The design does make up for the size and will fit in with the rest of your home theater components just fine.
There's even a USB port in the front for easy access to your media.
This player has the most features we've ever reviewed, including Wi-fi, access to lots of video streaming services and supports BD-Live with 1 gig of storage.
Each feature works pretty well.
Connecting the Wi-fi can be a little confusing but once that's set up, the player is ready to go.
Video streaming services include YouTube, Netflix's Instant Queue and paid subscriptions like CinemaNow, VooDoo and more.
It's one of the best web interfaces we've seen on a Blu-ray player.
The quality is also as good as we expected: details are relatively sharp and the colors look great.
The load times are extremely fast for a stand-alone player, but still not as fast as the PS3.
Overall, you should be really pleased with this player.
$249 (On Google)
Buy. You can spend the extra $50 on a PlayStation 3 but this LG player is easy to use, has access to more streaming video and looks just as good. (How do we rate gadgets?)
