Kevin Pereira is joined by Abbie Heppe of X-Play for a discussion about whether or not the popularity of console gaming is taking away from the resources and attention once dedicated to PC gaming. If so, what does this mean for the future of PC games?

I own all gaming platforms. My PC provides a more entertaining gaming experience. I try to play my consoles but become bored of them and return to my PC games. If gamers want to take the reduced fun factor of consoles then that's their choice. I believe one of the biggest issues of PC gaming is its not advertised. Give new and upcoming gamers a chance to compare console vs PC and I guarantee you a huge majority of them would choose PC as their primary platform.Especially for FPS/strat/etc Instead consoles are shoved down their throats anytime they go into a mall or Gamestop. Gamestops greed for reselling used games has played a huge factor in reduced popularity of PC gaming. It has nothing to do with consoles being better.

G4 has done a disservice to gamers with this tripe piece. Shame on you. This is the perfect example of why I no longer watch your channel. A console fanboy lovefest channel.

How about next time you actually use a person who \"still\" loves PC gaming for your debate.

The sooner PC games "die", the sooner the void will be filled with titles produced by smaller independent studios. The major studio released games that require budgets of your average hollywood blockbuster definitely cannot survive on the PC platform in the same way they can on the consoles - but 99% of those games tend to be so streamlined and simplified that they've lost a lot of the elements that drew me towards the PC ~15 years ago.

Well really bilizard is the only reason to game on a pc and you don't really need a dedicated gaming rig to play them. There is not enough money in pc gaming so whats the debate. If people what games on pc then they should stop pirating.

I am a big 1st Person Shooter fan, however if they ever make it so that I can use my keyboard via a PS3 and have it work consitantly with all games, I would definately change over.

Until then, WoW and my 1PS games will remain on my pc.

All I need for my PC next year, is FFXIV, which will have better textures and graphics than that of the PS3, and should keep me occupied for a few years at least.

And besides, FPS games have gotten old to me now. Let the consoles have them, I could honestly, care less about them NOW. If they want to be cheap/lazy and charge more, let the morons keep on buying it. One day they will see the problems they create.

And neither of these people are PC gamers, bias much??

As a pc gamer, i would be scared the moment i get to know the consoles have mouse and keyboard.

PC gaming isn't really dying so much as the bigger game developers are going to start focusing on consoles mores because it definitely yields more value with not having to worry about making their game flexible for multiple systems with the PC.

It won't ever really die, but it is definitely no longer the focus for the bulk of developers out there.
