NXE is anything but user friendly. I cant figure out how to get stupid facebook. I dont even know how to turn off the friends pop-up when I watching a movie!
From the footage I've seen it looks like IW have gone to great lengths to treat the scene with the sort of gravity it deserves. The scene is quite horrific, which is just as it should be and in no way does it glorify the act. As was touched on (by Abbie, I think?), I think it's a tremendous way of presenting the terrorist threat as a group responsible for some real atrocities that you WANT to defeat, just like the nuke scene in CoD4.I've been comforting myself with the idea that the sort of controversy this will no doubt encounter (and is already beginning to encounter in Australia...SIGH) is simply a growing pain of videogames as a medium for expression. I'm glad IW are pioneering in this way.On a completely different note. If I ever have a couple of hundred points sitting around that aren't going to do anything beyond do just that I'll spend them on avatar items. I certainly couldn't help myself when that RC Mako hit. I too am part of the problem. Hopefully avatar awards become more common amongst new releases.I've loved Borderlands since I picked it up last Thursday, although by the time I dinged around 41 on the second playthrough it was starting to feel a little old. It does a lot of things very very well, though, and is an absolute blast in co-op.
On the terrorist segment in Modern Warfare 2: KILLING CIVILIANS IN GAMES! WHEN DID THAT HAPPEN! - not in this game. GTA has been doing it for years. How is it acceptable to play as a crime lord in GTA, but not a terrorist (actually an undercover person POSING as a terrorist, from what I heard). And you can skip it! What's the problem?
I think this terrorist segment in Modern Warfare 2 speaks volumes about where gaming is headed. Pretty brave. Maybe pretty stupid. Either way, its going to let us as gamers face something scary and might even disarm some hysteria that has been bubbling up since 2001. Think of it as catharsis with a high score multiplier!
Good show!Borderlands is my new favorite game. I haven't been able to stop playing it. I think they did an awesome job on this one.
All very interesting. But Adam needs to move back from the mic a little. He keeps getting 'plosives on the mic.
I may have phrased that badly I dont know how that will play out and I havent seen the footage but I think a game like modern warfare is just so close to our own world as far as story and whatnot that people preceve it as somthing that could actualy happen. and if it plays out the way I think it will, well read statment above
Only two obscure Adam references lol. Hey now I think it should be praised that Borderlands has Split Screen Co-Op as an option along with Xbox Live Co-Op. More games of this gen should have split screen co-op since we have more hardware, less limits and more resources than when we had our last gen hardware where we had split screen. Ok rant over and I just wish that Gearbox would have programmed in AI for the single player of Borderlands like something similar to Gears of War 2 but yea if that meant possibly delaying the game longer, I didn't say anything. ^^
You play a terrorist in modern warfare 2. bad move. im not gonna go on some rant about terrorism and stuff but thres a reson you dont ever play the axis in world war 2 games is because NOBODY WANTS TO PLAY FOR TEAM NAZI!!
I think the modern warfare 2 terrorist scene is good. If we ever want interactive media to be more than just a game, we need to take bold moves like this. It's easier to apologize than to ask permission.
great show but what's with the camera dude behind adam?
great show! The girl in the middle is super cute! Reminds me of that girl from superbad, the one who throws the party and wants that fat dude to buy the beer.
