The actual content you're getting packed in that box you will be buying is worth $60 if not even more.
This time, they were able to dedicate an entire year mainly on this new Campaign mode alone.
It will probably end up being better than Halo 3's original Campaign because Halo 3 was worked on for about 3 years. In these 3 years they had to develop the Halo 3 engine which was probably the most tediously and longest process, create a Campaign mode that spanned about 10 hours, AND on top of all of that make a robust multiplayer experience, rebalancing weapons, and putting an extensive amount of thought into the level structure and things like that making sure they can be played over and over for hundreds of hours. This was ALOT that had to be done in 3 years.
With ODST, they already had the Halo 3 engine and the competitive multiplayer experience. All they did was add a little bit to the already excellent multiplayer and devote those 14 months in development primarily on ODST's campaign. I can just imagine how much content and detail they packed into the promising campaign.
In this $60 you're probably gonna get a Campaign 4x times better than Halo 3's campaign and the full multiplayer experience WITH $40 worth of DLC already on the disc.
Yeah, it's kind of a bummer for people who actually spent $30 on the last 2 map packs. But still, you're definitely gonna be getting you're money's worth with ODST. It may not feel like it for the Halo 3 vets, which will probably be the majority of the people buying this game. But for all the newcomer's getting this, their lucky because they will be able to enjoy soo much content for just $60.

I love me some Halo 3. That being said, there is no way I am buying an overpriced, fancy expansion pack. I have all the Halo 3 map packs. Why should I buy them again? $30, maybe. $60, no way. Sorry, but I'll be sticking to regular Halo 3.
