Your internet may be slow right now, but it could get a lot worse. Earlier this week, some of the country's biggest ISPs filed suit with the FCC to lower the minimum speed for broadband internet. Kevin Pereira talks to TechCrunch.com's MG Seigler to figure out what this means for consumers.

Have an underground groupe that creates a better faster internet speed and secretly compete with these other internet companies and charge customers a decent price.

These CEO people do make the internet speed slower that would be stupid , they will lose customers real fast.

I really doubt these companies will go so far as to lower everyones speeds. if they do then they will lose a lot of customers. furthermore if they do lower all of these speeds wat does that mean for all the people that pay for higher speeds? will they be reimbursed for the service they have already paid for? if not they would be wise to leave the speeds alone. just lower the costs of people coming into internet for the first time at 2 megs. that'll get more people to sign up. dont punish people who already have access.

i was waiting on the topic emphasizing on capitalism. Why can't we just have internet without paying EXTRA for it to be faster. The socialist's would of just gave it to the people, no bull after that on capping speeds. This is just another downfall topic on how capitalism fails to revolutionize our freedom. Gotta keep paying for better stuff instead of just GETTING IT.

This is the kind of thing that happens when you live in a country where a corporation driven strictly by greed is socially acceptable and understood. When advancements in technology no longer lead to immense profits, the only logical solution for these companies is to find ways to make more from less infrastructure. This is a classical cashcow method, charge premium for a standard service, and pay an arm and a leg for a premium service.

I blame the one time where Kevin and Olivia were making fun of the Internet... well that was staged. But I'm using that as an excuse to say something.

WTF, dumb down the internet? Going backward in tech. is not the American way. Sure hillbillies and pig farmers need the net but at what cost?

If the FCC passes this garbage then the government is truly corrupt. Say goodbye to E-commerence, Netflix, Xbox-live. The impact to other parts of the economy will be devestating.

I find this idea completely idiotic.
Personally, I have 18mps and that sometimes is not even enough.
Now if they take it down to a fraction of 1, I will be Ameri-pissed!
None of this makes any sense!

    We need to kill them!
    Kill them good and dead!
