Toshiba NB205 Netbook Review

You've got your books and your pencils, but do you have a good netbook? Chris Hardwick and Kevin Pereira review the Toshiba NB205 Netbook that weighs less than 3lbs with a super long battery life, all of which can be yours for $400.

What You Need To Know

  • This netbook features Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a 10.1" screen.
  • It's double the thickness of the Lenovo S10-2 and weights a little more.
  • The battery protrudes from the back instead of the bottom.
  • The keyboard and touchpad are different than most netbooks with raised and separated keys and a larger 3" pad.
  • The space between the keys helps you type more accurately but some keys are smaller than usual.
  • This is the best touch pad we've used.
  • The oversized mouse buttons are also helpful.
  • The Toshiba has a little bit better Atom N280 processor and faster 800 MHz ram than the other netbooks, giving it the best performance.
  • The PCMark05 tests were the fastest we've seen: web pages render fast, the HD access and application launch is quick.
  • The Windows XP boot up was a little slow, but this netbook should handle almost everything you need.
  • The audio is extremely weak.

  • $400.00
  • This is the most expensive netbook we've seen but it's worth it for the Bluetooth, sleep and charge features and an excellent battery life.

Saw your review a week ago, but i did not want to spend 400. so waited for a good deal. I just ordered one from _____.com free shipping and no tax total to under 350. Now when you review the HP Mini 110-1125NR to be better, I will be kicking myself.

Personally it's about the same as ASUS EEEPC 1000HE but i think the boot time for the 1000HE is better and its has multi touch other then that its about the same
