I've had a 360 and a PS3 for quite some time now, and I get 95% of my use out of my PS3. It's great that the price point is now in direct competition with the 360, so we'll see more exclusives, which Sony has always had the upper hand on as far as quality. Any day of the week, I'd rather play InFamous, Killzone, Uncharted, God of War and Ratchet than Halo, Gears, and...um...hm...I was going to just say Sony's exclusives are higher quality but I can't even think of any more comparable exclusives on 360.

I gotta agree, this does sound nice. I've never been much of Sony fan since, PS1 came out. Although Blu-ray and some of the exclusive games are sorta making me want to buy a PS3 to go with my XBOX 360. One exclusive game of PS3 that would really seal the deal with me is DC Universe Online. If that game turns out well and it plays well on PS3 and its better than the PC version. I'd be all over a PS3, but the economy is pretty tight right now. So I'm still not sure, if I'd wanna drop 300 bucks this year. I haven't even been buying a lot of 360 games even. Only two games I'll be buying the next year. Will be most likely Batman: Arkham Asylum and Mass Effect 2. Most other games don't seem to be worth the buy, but some are looking to be good rents.

Absouletly, Sony deserves it more then the other two after years of getting there ass kicked. You know even though I'm not buying one (I have two), I'm still excited for Sony and the industry about the PS3 slim

The Beatles do appeal to a younger audience, like me. Go onto some gaming forums, and you would see people fighting over Beatles still being the best.

This is it. Sony you now have a little bit of an edge don't blow it. Adams is right about blu-ray now actually being relevant. Now that it is the same price as the Xbox, when people who go to look at consoles they will see the blu-ray player. But here is where that won't work. The Xbox is always bundled, although Sony has bundled in the past the bundle itself was pointless.

Make the bundle good and you will guarantee a sale. Adam is also right that you first need to lose money to make it, and although you have been losing money for the past 3 years you haven't been making any. Up until the announcement of the Slim Sony was losing money per PS3, but in a interview on Playstaion's website they mentioned with the Slim will be the end of that. THis is which allowed them to drop the price on the slim saving the consumer money. Go the next step, with your saved money go and use it to bundle things with your system. Yes bundle software, but that is where you lost out before.

You need to bundle hardware. Many PSN users may notice that not many people talk online, this is because of a lack of a bundled headset. This will strengthen your online service. Next add in the chat pad, doing this would pre-mote user to try out Playstation Home. Toss in an HDMI and the Dark-Knight on Blu-Ray or a more family friendly movie. I believe this not to be a re birth of the PS3 but the launch. Go out swinging, who know maybe you will be able to compete with the rumored 299$ 360 Elite.

Damn right, Sess.'Bout time Sony got off their fat asses and finally did this. Saving 100 bucks is definitely a big deal these days, even more so than before. In the here and now it'll definitely benefit gamers and I think in the long run it'll be a good move for them.

Well with the price cut, that really brings on a whole new area for Sony to get into as far as whose homes this machine will be sitting in. And I think they did another great thing by yes slimming it down and bringing it to a much more manageable box in the living room.

I think now can really be there time to shine. Now I have not been one of those people constantly saying... Christmas 2007...Sony's time to shine...yada yada yada. It is the price cut that matter, and now at $299.99, this is where people can start jumping on board. Anything above the $300 mark is going to keep most people away except for the most hardcore. And even at $299.99 it is going to have a problem keeping people interested. Now if it were $249.99 we would be talking, or if there was a game like the original Resistance or Motorstorm...or hell, make a double pack in with how hold they are and that is where you can start bringing in a lot of the general population.

But hey, this is a starting point. Now for that PSPGo price...lets see a $50 or $75 reduction in that.

Totally agree Sessler. More competition beneftis us as gamers the most. I expect PS3 to get some serious steam this 4th quarter, and they deserve it with all the great games in the Sony library now.

Microsoft really needs to lower their counsle prices. If they do then more people might buy it. I think Rockband Beatles will sell well becouse it will encourage older people, people who grew up with them, to buy the game to partacke in the essence of nestalga (spelled wrong?)
