I agree with Mr. Berghammer, the story content is a major part of a game's entertainment. Functionality and story line are equally important.
Love the show. The insider view that you get with these guys is so additive to what the average gamer already knows. It's a lovely change from X-Play in that this is the show for hardcore gamers. They're not trying to impress us with their witty quips and their flashy graphics. This is a show for gamers, about games (Gamers?). The mention about FFXIV was a little surprising. I'm glad to see it mentioned on the show, and the views heard were views that I can both agree and disagree with. I find myself nodding, and talking to myself when I watch this show. There's always something to keep me interested with this show and I'm glad to see that they cover such a wide range of games. As a player of FFXI and WoW (5 years and 2 1/2 years respectively.) I can say that both games did so many things right, and a good amount of things wrong. The grind in FFXI while grueling, does cater to a certain audience, and the end-game content is quite 'hardcore' in that everyone must find a linkshell, or else you're not going to get anything done. It's also quite hard for a new player to jump into FFXI. It's such a time investment, as was mentioned and it's almost more daunting in WoW, although maybe not as prevalent at first. Anyway, I'll save my discussions for another time. Love the show, I'll be watching every episode. Hope to be featured on the reader question of the week some day.
9/6/09? i didn't realize you guys were broadcasting from a month in the future. tell me, how was pax?
Thanks for taking some time to cover the FFXIV news. As a former long-term FFXI player, I'm actually excited about the new system. Three years of FFXI was a hardcore experience unlike any other that required such strategic teamwork and dedication that you were left completely engrossed. It was challenging and it was rewarding. For the most part, I loved it. But after many nights staying up until 5am grinding, and then not being able to sleep because I was going over equipment, schedules, and strategy in my head, I needed a break. Now, having been off the FFXI high for about 6 months or so, I'm ready for another FF MMO, but I'm not ready for another FFXI, and I think this is why I'm excited about FFXIV. I'm glad I will be able to play without needing a party to get anything done. I'm glad I can play on my PS3, sitting on a comfortable couch. I'm glad I will get my dose of story and interesting characters that other MMOs lack. I'm glad that at the end of the day, my character will have more to show than just another numbered level.
Another great episode. Nightcap is more informitive than X-Play, and the hosts are more alive than Morgan Webb. At least I believe the hosts of Nightcap when they say that they play video games. Keep up the great work guys!
my comment has nothing to do with the show, i was commenting on the previous video about g phoria and it ended and the comment changed to this video
killzone has been out for only 5 months and its been popular, but what can you can expect from one of the few good games on the ps3. xbox has very many exclusives, so fanboy or not l4d beat out first of all all other xbox games but also the overly shined and polished killzone. So i think its retarded to buy a console that took 3 years to come out, finally with a good exclusive that has the same components of any console shared war game or exclusive on the xbox. So its obvious you are jealous of an exclusive that revolutionizes the shooter category. Because of the ai director, and versus mode.Playing zombies are awesome
please please please keep this as a weekly show! i don't get G4 on tv over the summer so i need these great web shows! this feels like a podcast type of this, but with 4 great PROFESSIONAL which makes it FANTASTIC. Also, a side note, could you add The Feed: Nightcap to the list of shows so it is MUCH faster to find!
Another awesome show 5*
Fallout 3 changed FPS for ever and games like Borderlands and Brink are the future of the FPS gameplay
PLEASE lay off the the jittery/zoomy fake exciting camera work stuff. If you feel the need to make the show "more exciting" use move gameplay footage. I'd also like to see a MP3 audio-only version. Other than the vertigo inducing camera work, I enjoyed the show.
