Fresh Ink Online: Incognito, Punisher, Asterios Polyp
Blair Butler rockets through a slew of brand new comics, including Incognito, Punisher, The Killer, Blackest Night, and Beta Ray Bill. And does hard cover graphic novel Asterios Polyp count as a comic book?

I got Asterios Polyp on Blair's high recommendation. I read it over 2 nights, then returned it this past weekend. I am not sure why it comes so highly rated, i found it boring, pretentious and lazy. I think part of my disappointment came because it came so highly rated, my expectations were huge. Add to that the 'last 4 pages blew my mind' part (technically the last 8 pages i'd say), and I read the whole thing waiting for the huge exciting ending. To quote Eddie Izzard, i feel it ended with a sort of 'ehh'.

I did like that it really felt like a graphic novel, and not a compilation of several comic books. And there were a couple cool points here n there... but outside that, i am out 2 nights and $4 S&H that i'd like back. I give Asterios Polyp 5 Z's... zzzzz...

Hey, you read Asterios Polyp! Did my comment last week matter?

    Nah, probably not.

Oh, well, I'm just glad you read it and loved it.

I too think it's probably the pick of the year.
