Regardless of whether CO will be released on the 360, why would you play an MMO on a console?

Champions Online (CO) has always been slated to be released in an X-Box version. It was always set to be released shortly after the PC version (keep in mind the PC version release date was pushed from Mid-July to Sept 1) and nothing was released about how this affected the X-Box release. You also have to add in the fact that Cryptic is in heavy negotiations with MS about CO, because the X-Box is a very closed system for constant updates, which is something a MMO needs to do. It was right after this info was revealed that interviews began hinting at a PS3 version. In one interview they Dev outright said they were talking with Sony about a PS3 version. SJs comments may seem vague without that context, but they are actually directed at a PS3 release. In other words I think he is basically saying that although the X-Box version was always set, it may fall through in final negotiations and if so they still plan on getting it onto to consoles, so that would fall to the PS3.

I've actually already pre order this game from gamestop for xbox 360 which was scheduled in their computers to come out sometime in march 2010.

Quote from the Champions online dev blog.
"How worried should console gamers be since this has not received the concept approval from Microsoft? (samuraiwahoo)
Arkayne (Lead Designer): Worry no more, samuraiwahoo! Champions Online is an Xbox360 (and PC) game."

So does that put this argument to rest?

Bill Roper is NOT the creator of the game. Bill Roper did not even join the CO project until pretty late in development. Also Bill Roper is not god.
Just had to get that off my chest.

I got excited about this game last year when G4tv had the game creator (Bill Roper) on the show. One of the many things mentioned was the supposed "side by side" development with the PC and the opportunity for 360 and PC player to game together. If that becomes nothing more then false promises like the whole Age of Conan fiasco (different developer) , I'm going to be seriously diappointed with these guys.

SJ, Atari rep at one of the press conference this year said that the Champions Online will be out on the 360 sometime during the 2009 Christmas season. Where I saw this I am unsure. I know some one on the Champions Online forums posted the link and I read the news article . Where it was, I am not sure. Also G4 needs to change the box info at the top of this page don't ya think ?
I think this is gonna be a awesome MMO to play. I love the entire comic book feel to it. Lets hope it will do great.

Hey, folks: I assure you this is coming out on the PC. Don't believe the hype: There has been no official announcement on a 360 version. Although it is something Cryptic is interest in doing, that doesn't mean it will happen. This is a PC game.

I can't wait to get this on Xbox360...but yet I still have to WAIT!!

Seriously dude, do u even watch your own g4 shows? On X-Play a while back(way back as in like winter of 08 ass!), Morgan Webb interviewed the creator, Bill Roper, who said it would be for the xbox and pc. Not to mention it will be a cross-platform game where pc gamers can play with 360 gamers.

Let me get this straight... SJ interviews Cryptic who "did say that there is nothing technically stopping the game from showing up on the 360 in the future, and it s something they d like to see happen". So, who's right? Cryptic or "the website, other articles, and the like" that we all need to be consulting? I'm looking the official website right bloody now and all it says is "Powered by the groundbreaking Cryptic Engine, Champions Online is currently in development for the PC."
Back the F* off SJ until YOU get your fact straight. Maybe you shouldn't read his articles until you learn how to read correctly.
