Normally I don't post on forums but this is simply ridiculous. Metal Gear Solid 2 is one of the best games I've ever played. I personally think it was better than the original (which is what makes a great sequel, is it not?). I honestly think the inclusion of Raiden was kind of cool because it allowed you to see Snake from a different perspective. It was all done really well (in true MGS fashion) and I really can't see how it's a disappointing sequel. Granted, this is just one guy's opinion but it's pretty clear I'm not alone here.

Was this made JUST to enrage us? Bad dog, X-Play, bad! The article above asks why video game sequels are often so horrible, then the list is comprised of GREAT games. CHRONO CROSS IS THE WORST? WUT? Chrono Cross is a stunningly vibrant, unique, amazing game... but I guess its 9.7/10 and 10/10 from IGN and GameSpot don't matter much, cuz it's different from Chrono Trigger, even if it is just as good a game. Let's not get upset with Super Mario64 for being different than its predecessors though... what?

I get this list. I get why you made it, you were personally disappointed in sequels to games you were fond of. It's a fair list on paper (for a random YouTube video), but its execution is poor; just because these games weren't exactly what you were expecting means they're BAD? If a game from a AAA pedigree series scores an 8.5/10 (or a 4/5), it DOES NOT mean it's BAD. You've shared this sentiment before X-Play, you know this. The problem here is that you acknowledge having given very good scores to these games, but then Adam and Morgan agree that "Those were some pretty bad games!" WHAT IN THE WORLD GUYS, THIS MAKES LESS SENSE THAN PLUMBERS WITH FLOWERS SHOOTING FIRE BALLS AT TURTLES! YET HERE WE ARE!

I get that these games were letdowns for you for deviating from the original, but the manner you're presenting this suggests that these are bad games, when they're pretty much all GREAT. Don't do them like that, you know if you reviewed Chrono Cross you'd give it a 5/5. Fair enough to be personally disappointed by sequels for not staying true to their predecessors, but when they still end up being very good games and you regardless call them bad because they're different, to quote the Fatman, "That's your problem."

I can only hope that Gamertag was behind this entire thing and that I just got tagged. I could've let this slide X-Play, you've got a good track record, but this was a block that I just couldn't resist POW'ing. I like you X-Play, I've defended you when you've been unfairly bashed, but we have to bonk even the best of friends on the head when they're being dumb, if just to keep them in check.

And Matrix Reloaded was good. As was Indiana Jones4. Not as good as the original, but good.

I want to know somebody actually read this, so if you disagree with any of what I just said, AIM me at my s/n: SDWS64.

MGS 2 was the most disappointing game I have ever played. MGS is in my top 10 games of all time, so naturally I had high hopes for MGS 2, and boy was I let down. I had several problems with this game.

First, Raiden was a massive tool. If I had to rank my top 3 all time "whinny little bitches" in video game history, Raiden would come in at number 1 (followed by Tidus in FFX and Carth in KOTOR). Nuff said on that issue.

Second, the graphics always bothered me (and I am by no means a "graphics whore"). Whereas MGS had very dark graphics that established a good atmosphere, in MGS 2 it seemed like the development team turned the gamma all the way up on my screen. The only memory I have of this game is running around a bright orange military base. The character models also seemed very "plastic," even at the time.

Lastly, from what I remember, the story tried way too hard to be deep, but ended up coming off as corny. I remember the ending being something to the effect of Solid giving Raiden a speech on patriotism that was just ridiculous.

While the gameplay was good, it just couldn't save it from all the other (bad) aspects of the game. And since everyone hopped on the "sequel of MGS bandwagon," and automatically started giving out reviews of 9.5's and 10's like they were candy on Halloween, without actually pointing out the games many flaws, I have been unable to trust any subsequent reviews of the MGS series and have thus not played MGS 3 or 4.

    Games missing from the list:

Klanoa 2, Halo 3, Legaia 2, FFX-2, The Suffering 2, Chrono Cross, Silent Hill Homecoming, Donkey Kong Jr, Destroy all Humans 2, Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter, Devil May Cry 2, Mario and Luigi Partners in Time, Yoshi's Story, Bubsy 2.

Those are all just from personal experience. Who picked this totally collection?

The reason why halo 3 wasn't on this video is because it didn't suck and it wasn't disappointing

I gotta say I really hope RE5, Halo 2 and Splinter Cell DA make it in the top five those games were BAD when compared to other games in the series. As for your back 5 I have no problem with your list so far. Fanboys why don't you grow a set and stop crying!!! Lets not forget this list is nothing more then someone elses opinion so don't get your panties in a bunch.

KotOR 2, REALLY? I actually like 2 better than 1, it had a much darker story, its the game that made a name for Obsidian.

Can't say I agree with MGS2. The story was top notch just like every MGS game. Sure Raiden took some getting used to, but he wasn't that bad. It showed that other people besides Snake could succeed in such a situation. I do wonder though, if Kojima decided to make Raiden so awesome in 4 just to spite the people that hated him to begin with. He at least claims to have been surprised that people didn't like Raiden.
