Canon Rebel T1i DSLR Camera Review

Kevin Pereira and Olivia Munn take a look at the Canon Rebel T1i DSLR camera with its creative auto mode, 14 bit processor, full HD video recording and tons of new features for a solid price.

What You Need To Know

  • This Canon Rebel is a little smaller than the Nikon D5000: 5" long with the lens and weights about 1.5 lbs.
  • It also has the same user interface as other Canon cameras.
  • It records video at 1920 by 1080 in full HD, along with a Creative Auto Mode that teaches you how to fix settings and take better pictures.
  • Video looks better than the Nikon D5000 due to the resolution, but still not great since it records at 20fps (or 30fps at lower resolution).
  • You can also take photos while it's recording.
  • Creative Auto Mode helps you learn more about photography, because you can change certain settings like the background and exposure without having to adjust everything else.
  • The photographs look good: colors are accurate and sharp in normal light shots.
  • The problem is that the focus seems soft on people, but landscapes look great.
  • Low light shots don't have as much of a problem with the help of the flash.

  • $800.00 with a lens.
