I think Sony isn't concerned about selling systems as much as selling games.

If I were Sony, at current economic climate, dropping price will expand market minimally (if people don't have money, they don't have money PERIOD). So to make more money, Sony should push current install base to buy more games. So it's not about selling systems right now as much as selling games. And from the conference, Sony has a ton of game sellers.
