'Cryostasis: Sleep of Reason' is part first person shooter, part atmospheric adventure game, that takes places on a nuclear submarine with a very heavy Russian bent. Does this new PC title pull it off or fall just short? Find out in this X-Play review.

I don't play games on my PC, but I may have to make an exception for this one. There are not enough Condemned like games out there and this looks like one.

I played this game a couple months back, and I have to say it was REALLY boring. The graphics are overrated, as the first thing i noticed was that your characters hands look almost laughably 2-d. The premise was certainly interesting, and im not neccessarily a fast paced game fanboy, but the pace of this game is pretty much snail-like. You spend the game inching around at a maddeningly slow speed. You can break into a run for about 3 seconds before your character tires out. Also, the environment is so monotonous, but iguess that is the point. Also, i noticed the texture maps of the walls were pretty rudimentary as well. The weapons are few in variety, and the guns fire incredibly slow. Anyway, I gave up on this game a few levels in. I do not understand why so many gaming websites have raved about this game. Again, maybe it is because the idea of a quasi-fps/horror game is a somewhat unexplored concept, but the originality of the idea does not do enough for me to make up for what is essentially a pretty dull game.
