Vizio XVT Series LCD TV Review

With a 50,000 to 1 dynamic contrast ratio, 120 Hertz refresh rate, and a 1080p display that yields incredible detail, it just might be time to blow your tax refund on something for yourself.

What You Need To Know

  • 5 HDMI and 2 component inputs
  • At 13.5 inches thick it feels a bit big
  • The giant silver speaker bar is a little garish for our tastes
  • The "Smooth Video Technology" Setting creates artifacts sometimes
  • Overall, this isn't the best 120 Hertz refresh we've seen and it can be distracting
  • Blacks are unfortunately really pale even with the 50,000 to 1 contrast ratio
  • Colors are dull at times, and brighter at other times
  • It does the job, but it doesn't compare to the other displays we've seen
  • If you're on a budget and need a really big TV, you can't beat Vizio but for around $300 more you could get higher quality with better brands like Sony or Samsung

  • $1800
