3 great colloniale powers. I know you people hardly know european history but give the netherlands some more credits will you. We owned allmost half the world, together with england the Netherlands was the most powerfull country on the world. Infact the france and england had a sieze fire in their war to conquer the netherlands, just to fail big time cause the dutch marine forces shot their fleet to smithereens. And the Netherlands where the ones to succesfully steal the spanish silverfleet.

Also the Netherlands has a huge part in the creation of America today, New York anyone? Give some more credits and more historical correct next time please.

how could you do a review and not say how SUPER BUGGY this game is. Naval battles crash the game. go on the support forum or the amazon.com reviews for the horror stories.
I love total war titles but this was not even close to being ready to release.

Hey Morgan sweetie, that problem you have with having to sit through all of your enemies/allies movements can be disabled in the options menu. Even if you didn't disable it you can press the spacebar during the end of turn AI movements to have them speed up extremely fast (so you still get an idea of what they're doing). This game, although having some setbacks, truly deserved a 5 out of 5. I'm not upset, I'm just tired of mediocrity being rewarded so much nowadays, and great achievements, like EMPIRE, having to settle for less then what they deserve. Not only am I disappoint, but I also has a sad. =(
