Dan Frommer from Silicon Alley Insider joins us from New York to talk about Apple's recent procurement of a patent for their touchscreen gesturing interface and what it means for future touchscreen tech?

On January 20, The U.S. Patent Office approved Apple's patent number 7,479,949. Covering the patent is many of the multi-touch controls currently used for Apple's iPhone and iPod touch. This could be a big set-back for Palm, a company that was looking to re-emerge with their own line of sharp, touchscreen devices. The question is, will Apple be willing to license their new patent out to what could end up being a big competitor?
