Sony All-in-One RT Series PC Review

In case you were dying to drop $4,000 on a really smokin' desktop PC, Sony's RT series might be the hardware for you, with it's 8 GB of RAM, 1 Terabyte of storage, an Intel Quad Core processor and a Blu-ray burner.

What You Need to Know

  • It's only about 9" thick with the stand and all the ports are on the side, which makes its size just as convenient as the HP All-in-One we saw a few days ago
  • The difference is really only in appeal; this one looks much cleaner and is not as bulky as the HP
  • It has a huge 25" screen and HDMI ports
  • It displays full HD 1920 x 1200 resolution
  • Sony's X-Bright technology makes the screen incredibly vivid
  • Colors might look a little soft but overall everything is gorgeous
  • It also has HDMI and Coaxial inputs as well as HDMI output, so it can act as your Blu-ray player, cable DVR, etc.
  • The machine has 8 GB of RAM and a Quad Core processor
  • It scored about 4,400 points in the PCMark Vantage tests, but for what this computer has in it, that's only middle of the line
  • On the plus side, the Blu-ray burner worked right out of the box

  • $4,000
  • It is not worth the price
  • Back in October, we reviewed a desktop PC from iBUYPOWER and that scored 1,000 points higher in our PCMark Vantage tests, and it's only $1,800
