Samsung TL34 HD Camera Review

This point and shoot, 14.7 megapixel camera has a 3" touch screen, 3.6X optical zoom, and a 28 mm wide angle lens. Kevin will let us know if this $230 marvel is as impressive as it sounds.

What You Need to Know

  • The camera is just under 1” thick and weighs about 6 ozs., which means it's the perfect size and weight for your pocket
  • It has a fashionable look that makes it seem more expensive than it is
  • The camera features a 3” touch screen
  • The icons are just the right size on the screen, which makes it really easy to touch the things you want to touch while shooting
  • For some reason though, the menu selecting isn't as accurate, but that doesn't take away from the experience too much
  • Also, whenever you take a picture with the flash, it's right under your index finger, which is kind of annoying
  • Overall, it's a lot of fun to use
  • Normal light shots have vibrant colors, but things up close to the camera or far away are soft around the edges, looking almost out of focus
  • Low light shots suffer from the same problem, plus the flash is overpowered and blows out any subject too close to the camera
  • There isn't much grain since it's 14 megapixels, but that doesn't matter if your photos are always out of focus
  • It's got a lot of cool features like smile shutter, blink detection, dual image stabilization, etc., but the mediocre image quality just can't be ignored

  • $230
  • The camera is not worth the price
