You thought it couldn't happen, but Motorola has introduced a flip phone with a touchscreen, and we'll let you know whether or not this Verizon-tied phone with a 2 megapixel camera, and easy access to V-cast is worth the $200 price tag.

What You Need to Know

  • With the phone closed you can still access your photos, music, V-Cast TV, and navigation
  • Opening the Krave will bring up the touch sensitive main menu and standard phone functionality
  • The touch screen is a bit delayed but still feels responsive with the flip open or closed (also haptic feedback)
  • In terms of features, the phone's got a lot
  • It has visual voicemail, e-mail, web browsing, streaming video on demand and Mobile TV
  • With the phone closed you still have access to a full TV Guide
  • Technically, it's not a smart phone, but for $150 you can over look some short comings
  • The lack of Wi-Fi is a major let down
  • The QWERTY keyboard is pretty awkward with two hands, because the flip screen tends to get in the way
  • Although the browser has a little cursor for selecting smaller headlines, navigating the web isn't as precise as it could be
  • Also, even though the style saves on touch screen smudges, you'll still get them all over the cover

Price

  • $150 with contract
