Alienware's Area-51 m9750 Notebook

  • Speedy Intel Core 2 Duo Processors
  • Twin SLI video cards give you unparalleled 3D graphics
  • Native Resolution of 1920 x 1200 on a 17” screen
  • Tests on the latest games offer up over 80 fps
  • Plenty of ins and outs
  • Three plug surround sound audio
  • Optical audio out
  • DVI output for high-res
  • Unfortunately, no HDMI
  • Four USB 2.0 ports, mini fire wire, multi format memory card reader
  • Price is a bit much if you want the best version
  • There’s some other new hardware right around the corner, like NVIDIA’s GeForce 8700M GT, which will make this one a bit outdated by the end of the year
  • Requires Windows XP for optimal performance
  • So much hardware in it that drains power way too quickly
  • You’ll be lucky to get ninety minutes when it’s not plugged in
