This makes me laugh, when everyone ragged on the PS3 for whatever reason it had, I remember in the early stage there were some power chords melting and what not but nothing majorly effecting over half of the consoles. I bought 1 xbox, I played that Xbox until it red ringed when I called gamestop and they said tough luck, and then I called Microsoft and they said the price I immediately hung up the phone and built a shrine for the dead console because there was no way I'd be STUPID[yes that's the only word that describes this behavior] enough to go and buy another console or pay for them to fix their mistake. So to anyone who is on anything but their first 360 after it broke, You need to stop doing this and tell microsoft it's NOT okay to do this to you.

Ok, so I am on my 2nd 360. I picked up an elite just over a year ago. Yesterday, RROD! MS actually told me that you can't expect a product to last forever. The charged me about $105 to send me a box and repair it. I have been a die hard xbox fan but this is getting old. I have mine on a well ventilated shelf with a fan on it whenever it is on. I don't move it at all. So why do I have to suffer wtih this? MS is giving me 1 month free XBL to account for lost time there that I have already paid for. Why is it that my other consoles have NEVER broken. Not even any handhelds that I have ever owned. Oh, and Jim, the supervisor also told me that if this was such a problem MS would be out of business. I informed him that as a shareholder, I know that the cash reserves alone could keep them afloat for 20 years in the console market. He apologized for my troubles and quickly changed topics.

That gives you a clue how inferior the X-Box 360 really
is,I own a P.C. gaming computer,when it breaks down I can
buy parts and get back on to gaming again.I knew a person who moded
his x-box 360 elite and now his x-box 360 is an exspensive paper
weight! Now if I had a X-box 360 and it breaks and I take it apart
and fix it,I am going to kicked off line.

I have had two 360's, neither one of them have ever broken. It's has somthing to do with the system itself yes, but I believe it's mainly the way you treat your stuff. If you treat it like it's some everyday piece of crap you have lying around, yeah it's going to break. Me and my friends take care of our consoles and have never had a problem with any of them. My first 360 was one of the original release consoles and it never gave me trouble. I sold it to gamestop for $171.64 along with a few other things to get an elite when the $100 dollar price dropp occured. Scince I purchased my elite I haven't had problems with it either. So basically treat your things with care and most likely they won't crap out on you! -ProxyCryogenics
