Guardians of the Galaxy has apparently nabbed another cast member. -- At least, that's what the would-be cast member in question is claiming. British actor, Enzo, Cilenti recently took to Twitter to tease his apparent joining of the cast for Marvel's big-screen space odyssey.

Cilenti's resume is quite deep, but may be best remembered for his stint on HBO's Rome, Prisoner Wives, and numerous supporting roles in films. He's recently appeared in The Rum Diary with Johnny Depp and has a role in this summer's Kick-Ass 2. He is also married to the gorgeous actress of the Resident Evil films, Sienna Guillory. While Cilenti did not indicate specifically who he would be playing, the role in Guardians will nevertheless be his highest profile project, thus far.

As Cilenti's teastastic tweet states:

"I may or may not be in #Guardiansofthegalaxy. I am sworn to secrecy so can't say. In entirely unrelated news, "I am".

...And that is the extent of the reveal. It certainly seemed like an excited tweet, which makes one wonder how major of a role he's procured. At the moment, the cast is headlined by Chris Pratt as leader of the galactic super-team, joined by fellow teammates, Zoe Saldana, Michael Rooker, and Dave Bautista. Only two vacancies remain with the confirmed members of the primary team and they both happen to be CGI animated characters, one of which (Rocket Raccon) was rumored to be voiced by comedic stars Jim Carrey or Adam Sandler. That leaves the voice of giant tree alien, Groot as Cilenti's only possibility for being part of the team. -- Of course, his role could be anyone. With Lee Pace cast as the still-unnamed villain (The Controller is the dominant rumor,) and Ophelia Lovibond cast for a mysterious role, the field is still quite open for characters Cilenti could be set to play.

Guardians of the Galaxy, for all we know, may be sizing up Enzo Cilenti for the role of intergalactic urinal scrubber when it hits theaters on August 1, 2014.

Doc Savage, the classic character from the era of pulp comics and novels is reportedly set to be reinvigorated on the big screen and he'll have the help of the director behind the newly-crowned second-best summer opener of all time. Yes, Iron Man 3 director, Shane Black has officially boarded this Sony Pictures adaptation, looking to break new ground with a genre franchise to shape for himself.

Your average Joe in the street may not be familiar with Doc Savage, but in actuality, he's one of the oldest comic book type characters around. Making his debut in 1933, the character would manifest through an array of comics, novels, radio dramas, and yes, films. Born under the name, Clark Savage Jr., the chiseled-jaw, bronze-skinned, widow's-peak-wearing character is a master-of-all-trades prodigy raised from birth to be, among other things, a physician, scientist, surgeon, and inventor with exceptional strength and martial arts skills. However, his primary function in life is to fulfill that adventurous, exploratory, and overtly cosmopolitan spirit usually shared with characters in the era of serial films. (An old-fashioned idea to which George Lucas paid tribute with Indiana Jones.) While there have been numerous attempts to resurrect the character in various mediums, even with DC putting out a crossover comic with Batman in 2009, the 1975 box-office bomb of a feature film called Doc Savage: The Man of Bronze remains the most notable major attempt to bring him back into the mainstream.

Now, Doc Savage may have his best chance to break that wall with Shane Black at the helm. Riding high off Iron Man 3's $174.1 million opening weekend (the second best ever and only behind the $207.4 million debut of The Avengers), Black, previously known only as a screenwriter of well-known action films like the Lethal Weapon series, has now established himself as a truly bankable big-name director. Certainly, the script, co-written by Black with Anthony Bagarozzi and Charles Mondry should carry the adventurous spirit of the source material while updating the cheesy 1930's ideals of perfection that the character seemed to embody.

Doc Savage looks for more ways to make its main character seem like a walking fake eHarmony profile when it hits theaters at a time to be determined.

Ender's Game, this fall's future-set space saga has unleashed its debut trailer.

After giving us a brief sneak peak glimpse last week, the film's first full proper trailer immediately answers what may be the most pressing question potentially vexing anyone who watched the clip: "Why are CHILDREN are fighting in space wars?" It seems that Harrison Ford's Colonel Graff is under the belief that the mysterious legion of alien enemies may be thrown off by the fact that Earth's soldiers have yet to sprout pubes. (I kid, I kid.) Actually, it is through the minds of these child soldiers that Graff sees the untapped creative potential to put these inflexible space invaders in their pusillanimous place. Consequently, he may have found his latter-day Luke Skywalker. (Even though this transaction won't yield 17,000 Imperial credits and a hot sister.) It seems that humanity's hopes may lie with Ender Wiggin (Asa Butterfield), a wary wunderkind with a brilliant mind who, according to Graff could be "the finest commando we've ever trained."

Under the scornful stares of a tribal-tatted trainer named Mazer Rackham (Ben Kingsley), Ender will have to endure the rigorous regime, getting along with his peers, traipsing the perils of young romance, and mastering the fine art of "blowing up ships and planets with energy pulses." -- You know, typical boring stuff that you're never going to use in real life like memorizing the quadratic formula and learning not to mix acids and bases.

Ray Harryhausen, a man who is perhaps the most popular and influential visual effects artist of all time has sadly passed away today at the age of 92.

Certainly, no single person has had as a profound effect on the imaginations of visionary filmmakers in the last century as Harryhausen did with his groundbreaking, masterful, and visually compelling stop motion animation. Forever changed after being awed by the breathtaking visuals of 1933's King Kong, one single moviegoing experience would set the young Harryhausen on an amazing path of producing one immensely memorable cinematic creation after another that turned impressive models into magnificent larger-than-life screen monsters.

Starting with 1949's Mighty Joe Young, his creatures would grace an array of 1950's atomic age drive-in favorites like It Came from Beneath the Sea and 20 Million Miles to Earth, before graduating to true big screen epics rooted in mythology like 1958's The 7th Voyage of Sinbad (and its two follow-ups in 1973 and 1977), 1963's Jason and the Argonauts, 1966's One Million Years B.C., 1969's The Valley of Gwangi, and his last and perhaps most memorable effort which was the first to "release the Kraken," in 1981's Clash of the Titans.

Truly, his passing marks not only the loss of a true effects icon who has influenced countless other effects icons like George Lucas, Peter Jackson, Sam Raimi and just about anyone else worthwhile, but is also perceived as the true passing of Harryhausen's stop motion art form itself. With the all-digital, shot on blue-screen methodology that dominates today's filmmaking, it's a tough blow to absorb for vocal segments of cinematic purists.

A charitable trust set up by Harryhausen himself called The Ray and Diana Harryhausen Foundation will remain devoted to the goal of archiving and protecting the iconic effects man's name and extensive body of work.

Transformers 4 continues adding to its non-giant-robot supporting cast. It is being reported by The Wrap that London-born actress, Sophia Myles has been cast in director, Michael Bay's next rampaging romp of robots wrecking the world.

According to the report, Myles will fill the role of "a scientist." While nothing is confirmed, the character could potentially be the romantic interest of the lead character played by Mark Wahlberg. The actress has certainly seen her share of "genre" action with roles in Underworld, Underworld: Evolution, a memorable role in a David Tennant era episode of Doctor Who, "The Girl in the Fireplace," and was a regular on the cult-but-cancelled vampire TV series, Moonlight. Now, the beautiful blonde Brit will play a scientist bringing...scientific stuff to help fight the good fight in Michael Bay's cinematic world where Hasbro's prodigious protean paladins treat our fragile little world like it's their personal product placement-permeated octagon, while blowing stuff up in slow motion with hot women arching their backs gracing the background...brought to you by Taco Bell.

Myles joins an ever-growing cast which completely replaces the Shia LaBeouf era of the franchise consisting of the aforementioned Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz, Jack Reynor, Stanley Tucci, and TV icon, Kelsey Grammer, who plays one of the film's would-be human villains. No details are available regarding the plot at the moment. (But, as I have implied, "giant robots blowing stuff up" is a safe bet.)

Mission: Impossible 5 appears to be a task that star, Tom Cruise has chosen to accept. Barring whether the message will self-destruct, Deadline reports that the actor has indeed signed a deal to yet again reprise his role as espionage agent, Ethan Hunt in the upcoming, yet-to-be-titled fifth film.

According to the report, studios, Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions have confirmed that the deal to bring back Cruise is done. While the specifics on the "whos" and the "whats" remain played close to their chests, the report strongly espouses the narrative that director, Christopher McQuarrie may be the man to take the helm this time around. With McQuarrie having directed Cruise in recent efforts like last year's Jack Reacher and the 2008 historical World War II drama, Valkyrie and was even at one time penning the apparently-aborted Top Gun 2 script, it seems that the actor is interested in reprising this collaboration for his signature action vehicle.

Of course, the Mission: Impossible series, while never incredibly deep, have always proven to be the proverbial litmus test for the state of action films at any given time. Starting with director Brian De Palma's stylish 1996 original update of the 1960's TV show, John Woo's bevy of bullet-time slow-motion in the 2000 sequel, J.J. Abrams's gritty shaky-cam kidnapping epic in 2006's third film, and Brad Bird's intense, on-the-run, sky-walking fourth film in 2011, they've all provided solid snapshots of the action genre. Also, as evidenced by the $695 million global take of that last film, Mission: Impossible: Ghost Protocol, it still clearly has no problem finding audiences.

As for Cruise himself, say what you will about him, but the man knows how to carry an action flick. He'll be going into this "fivequel" riding high off the (thus far) $222.6 million worldwide gross of this year's futuristic thriller, Oblivion. (Not bad at all for a non-sequel.) He's also gearing up for another updated take on a 60's spy show with director, Guy Ritchie when he stars in The Man from U.N.C.L..E. alongside Armie Hammer. Thus, any reports on the demise of his bankability have been greatly exaggerated.

Mission: Impossible 5 looks to do giant bungee jumps onto Oprah's couches at theaters probably sometime in 2015.

It appears that the Star Wars videogame empire will rise again...under the EA banner. After appearing temporarily collapsed when new overseers, Disney shut down the longstanding home-based developer/publisher, LucasArts last month, it has been announced that EA has signed a multi-year exclusive deal with the new Disney-sized Star Wars franchise to develop and publish games on a global basis.

Upon the announcement of LucasArts' demise, Disney's proposed plan was to follow a license-based model. Indeed, today's news fulfills that model with the monolithic company who has published Star Wars titles in the past like the Star Wars: Knight of the Old Republic RPG series and Star Wars: The Old Republic MMORPG. With the developmental and publishing power of EA by Disney's side on the prospective major titles, the empire of Mickey retains rights to the smaller games targeted for phones and tablets.

As EA Labels President, Frank Gibeau muses on the official site:

"Today, The Walt Disney Company has announced that they have chosen EA to create new Star Wars experiences for gamers worldwide. The magic of Star Wars is interwoven into the worlds, characters, planets and amazing battles. It is a universe that lends itself perfectly to gaming.  Our agreement unlocks a whole new future of Star Wars games that will span consoles, PCs, tablets, mobile and more."

Also notable, is that EA will retain the use of teams from its labels, DICE, Visceral, and BioWare on the development of what should be a steady array of Star Wars projects. So, while the fall of LucasArts remains a sad sign of changing times, it may prove more symbolic than substantive. As Gibeau comments on the developmental teams:

"These imaginative teams will make games that may borrow from films, but the games will be entirely original with all new stories.  Powering it all will be the Frostbite 3 development engine – guaranteeing incredible graphic fidelity, environments and characters."

It will certainly be interesting to see what EA has in store for Star Wars fans, or if they may be so inclined to pick up the pieces of the much-mythologized LucasArts shooter project, Star Wars 1313, which was indefinitely shelved by Disney. The specifics will surely be sprinkling in the coming weeks and months.

The Wolverine has released a new poster and get this...it does NOT feature a shirtless Hugh Jackman screaming into the abyss! Nay, this new poster released by director, James Mangold via tweet, features an artistic glimpse of one of the film's main antagonistic muscle, The Silver Samurai.

Resembling some type of ancient Japanese pictograph, the image features a full-bodied (albeit roughly-depicted) look at the character of Kenuichio Harada, a menacing mutant who can channel energy and cavorts in armor as the sword-swinging Silver Samurai. While he will be portrayed by actor, Will Yun Lee, who some may know from his current semi-regular role on Hawaii Five-0 as the roguish informant, Sang Min, the latest trailer for the film recently unveiled at industry show, CinemaCon, shows us a brief live-action glimpse of the character...and he looks FREAKING HUGE. Since Will Yun Lee is a normal-sized human being who can probably use public toilets without breaking them, the glimpse might have revealed something plot-wise about this live-action version of the famous X-Men villain and Wolverine rival.

Regardless, the poster shows an awesome and overwhelming opponent for Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, who will also have to contend with the face-ripping femme, Viper (Svetlana Khodchenkova), as well as an entire legion of ninjas that could very well make the folks behind G.I. Joe: Retaliation jealous.

Interstellar, the ambitiously mind-bending next film effort from director, Christopher Nolan will apparently feature another one of the director's favorite repertory players. Legendary actor, Michael Caine has hopped on board this film, which will take things far beyond his three-film stint picking up Batman's underwear in Wayne Manor to the far reaches of space.

While exact details on the plot for this supernatural space thriller are as mysterious as the cosmos itself, it will apparently involve the elements of wormholes and time travel, reflecting research of famous physicist, Kip Thorne. However, what is clear, is that Caine will add distinction to a cast of already distinct names like Anne Hathaway, Matthew McConaughey, and Jessica Chastain. However, knowing Nolan, especially when it comes to his cerebral thrillers like the groundbreaking Inception, Caine and Hathaway may not be the only esteemed actors returning to the fold by the time this film's casting process is said and done. Indeed, you don't have to be much of a fortune teller to guess that people like Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Tom Hardy, Cillain Murphy, and maybe even Ellen Page probably have a copy of the script waiting in their inboxes.

With this increasingly-impressive cast and a cool setting that will be new territory for its visionary director, it's no wonder that Interstellar was the object of a rare multi-studio deal between Paramount Pictures and Warner Bros. to split co-production and co-distribution duties between the the domestic and international releases. It's about as surefire of a hit as they come, despite the nonexistent details.

Interstellar heads out to prove that some men just want to watch the world burn...through reentry when it hits theaters on November 7, 2014.

X-Men: Days of Future Past doesn't look to be stopping its torrent of tweet-teasing cast reveals anytime soon. Over the weekend, director, Bryan Singer dropped a photo of one the film's featured phase-shifting females: Ellen Page as Kitty Pryde.

The role actually marks a homecoming for Page, who played the character in 2006's X-Men: The Last Stand for director, Brett Ratner. At the moment, nothing regarding the plot of this movie, which brings an unbelievably enormous cast of mutant alumni, is clear. Thus, the specifics of where Page's Kitty Pryde stands amongst this embarrassment of riches of a cast with biggies like Hugh Jackman's Wolverine and Jennifer Lawrence's Mystique has no context as of yet.

However, what is notable, is that Kitty's role in the original 1981 comic book storyline of the same name was central. The storyline shifted between the "present" and a dystopian future where mutants have been hunted to virtual extinction by the giant robot Sentinels. It was through the teen mutant upstart, Kitty's mental transference between the two timelines that the key to stopping this horrific future from occurring emerges when she has to prevent the impending assassination of anti-mutant Senator Kelly in the present.

Of course, given numerous factors having to do with the jumbled X-Men movie canon of Fox, this film adaptation will undoubtedly sport radical differences from the original comic book story by Chris Claremont and John Byrne. Consequently, it's doubtful that Page's Kitty Pryde will have that same central role to the film's time-bending plot. Regardless, it could potentially be a heralded moment for comic book movies as multiple casts of X-Men films past and present come together for an on-screen epic whose surreal nature could very well rival that of The Avengers. (I stress, "could.")

The Crow reboot appears to have fully taken flight with the acquisition of its star. Yes, it seems that lanky goth kids in tattered black wardrobe held together with safety pins now have a potential new idol. Actor, Luke Evans has reportedly signed on to play the latest makeup-masked murdered manifestation of vengeance .

For Evans, who has seen his share of supporting roles in recent epics like Immortals, Three Musketeers, and Clash of the Titans, procuring this role is the latest in a string of high profile coups for upcoming films. Evans already has roles lined up in this month's Fast & Furious 6, a key role as Bard the Bowman in this winter's The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (and its sequel next year), and as another Gothic horror icon, Dracula in next year's version of the vampire tale focusing on the historical figure who inspired the character, Prince Vlad. Thus, if you didn't know the name Luke Evans, then most likely by this time next year, it will be a name that could potentially be synonymous with perennial headliners of big-budget bonanzas.

Based off James O'Barr's comic book title and brandishing an iconic status thanks to the performance of the late Brandon Lee in the 1994 original, this remake of The Crow run by screenwriter, Jesse Wigutow and Spanish director, F. Javier Gutiérrez, not only made headlines with legal drama between Relativity Media and The Weinstein Company, but has facilitated a bizarre string of casting rumors. Starting a few years back with Bradley Cooper, the recent array of names spat out from the news cycles pointed to James McAvoy, Tom Hiddleston, and Alexander Skarsgård, all of which were subsequently shot down. (Although of all of them, the McAvoy rumor did seem to have legs.) Now, Luke Evans will be the face of this attempted resurrection of The Crow franchise once popularized by sequel movies and a TV series.

And, if the latest rumor uncovered by Latino Review proves true, then it seems that Evans' version of Eric Draven/The Crow will actually be a police officer who is murdered along with his fiancee. However, it seems that the bond they formed growing up together in an orphanage is what facilitated Eric's resurrection, giving this supposedly religious version of the character "ghostly" powers and a plot-centric explanation for the signature white makeup akin to The Invisible Man.

The Crow looks to take back the mantle of "edgy" Halloween costumes when it comes back to life at theaters on a date to be determined.

Guardians of the Galaxy, the Marvel Cinematic Universe's first entry into the "cosmic" theater has released a revealing item of concept art along with some new details from Marvel Studios main man, Kevin Feige.

Exclusive to Entertainment Weekly, we see in the pic the silhouette of what appears to be a young boy standing in awe directly in front of an alien spacecraft of some kind. As the report reveals, that kid is a young Peter Quill, the main protagonist of the film, who will eventually grow up to be leader of our team of cosmos crusaders as Star-Lord played by Zero Dark Thirty and Parks and Recreation star, Chris Pratt. We see young Peter during his very first extraterrestrial encounter; a moment in his life, other than the mysterious death of his mother, that would define him. It's also a moment that would push him to pursue a career in NASA, taking him to space, where fate would intervene and he learns that his father was actually an alien, proving himself to be a true living phenomena with untapped super-powers. Peter's path on the hero's journey leads to him being recruited by an intergalactic police force called The Guardians of the Galaxy, eventually deeming him worthy enough to be leader of his own team.

As Kevin Feige reveals to EW on the film:

“Guardians takes place within the continuity of the [other movies] but it’s on the other side of the universe,” Feige says. “We’ve always wanted to do a space movie. I’m obsessed with Star Wars, I’m obsessed with Star Trek.”

Adding: “It’s a huge story on a massive canvas,” Feige says. “We can take it to all those crazy places as long as all the characters respond in an emotionally truthful way. That’s why I believe people are going to respond to Chris Pratt and to an alien Zoë Saldana—because they did respond to that one time before [with Avatar]. And to a tree and a raccoon who, it is certainly our intention, will steal the whole movie.”

The film will certainly push the palettes of mainstream audiences, who have thus far widely embraced everything that Marvel Studios has offered since 2008's watershed moment with Iron Man. Truly, this Phase Two film will determine whether Marvel jumps its franchises into lightspeed or simply jumps the shark. Although, considering the film will feature the sultry Zoe Saldana, whose role as Gamora is now confirmed to feature her in full green body paint, it may have already contributed positively to the proverbial scoreboard.

Interstellar, the next mind-bending movie from director, Christopher Nolan continues its habit of casting A-list actors and actresses. According to Deadline, who have been all over this film since its inception (heh, heh), one of Hollywood's recently-christened "it" girls, Jessica Chastain is in talks to join the film.

Chastain is currently riding high from the critical acclaim she received from her Oscar-nominated performance in Zero Dark Thirty and the recent horror thriller, Mama. Indeed, the actress is already getting a foothold in the blockbuster department when she recently jumped on board Guillermo del Toro's supernatural horror thriller, Crimson Peak alongside Benedict Cumberbatch. With Interstellar, Chastain joins a still-growing and already-impressive cast consisting of Matthew McConaughey and a woman whose Oscar-winning Les Misérables performance seemingly mocked her derailed Zero Dark Thrity Oscar hopes that same night in Anne Hathaway. (Which could get awkward on the set...hopefully.)

As far as details about the film go, they are restricted to a vague description of concepts; namely that it will be Nolan's take on the space scifi genre which utilizes research developed by renown physicist, Kip Thorne theorizing the use of wormholes for time travel. Certainly, Nolan's non-Bat films tend to be grounded to a more practical reality, even when they're exploring dimensional alterations in dreams within dreams and advocating the continued relevance of Polaroid photos. Thus, we probably shouldn't expect any Star Trek-like conventional space tragedies, but more of the insular Nolan-esque psychological drama, amidst the wider, more visually sublime setting of the cosmos.

Ender's Game, this fall's newest entry in the space-scifi genre has unleashed its debut teaser footage.

Based on the 1985 Orson Scott Card novel of the same name, the film brings a conventional "chosen one" hero dynamic, taking a young primary cast and supporting them with some great veteran actors. With X-Men Origins: Wolverine director, Gavin Hood at the helm, expect the action to be abundant.

The clip starts with an introduction from stars, Harrison Ford (who brings plenty of cinematic experience outrunning Imperial starships...and not just the bulk cruisers) and the young actor playing the film's titular character, Asa Butterfield. Apparently, the first proper trailer will be coming our way in just four days on May 7. In the meantime, we are treated to 27 solid seconds of various visually majestic space scenery, which also manages to encapsulate the plot pretty well.

It seems that in a future where Earth's primary protection from alien invaders lies with an international space fleet, a young, socially-awkward boy named Ender Wiggin (Butterfield) is discovered to posses some interesting intellectual proclivities toward space military strategy and could very well save humanity. As he goes through the ringer of training amongst an academy full of peers, he's caught the attention of one of the International Fleet's grizzled brass in Colonel Graff (Ford) and a tremendously tattooed trainer named Mazer Rackham played by Ben Kingsley, fresh from his spectacular performance as "The Mandarin" in Iron Man 3. (With an emphasis placed on those quotation marks.)

The Fantastic Four might be readying itself for a reboot, but it seems that this time around, director, Josh Trank might also be looking to reboot our pigment-based perceptions of Marvel's mighty quartet. According to a report from The Wrap, actor, Michael B. Jordan is in contention to nab the role of Johnny Storm, aka The Human Torch.

The busy actor, seen on TV's Friday Night Lights, Parenthood, and last year's film, Red Tails (and was also the voice of Jace Stratton in Gears of War 3), has been building quite a bit of behind-the-scenes momentum in his career with his role in a favorite at the Sundance Film Festival called Fruitvale Station. However, the strength of The Wrap's report resides mainly in the fact that Jordan starred in director Trank's successful faux-verite "kids with super-powers" 2012 film, Chronicle. At the moment, that project is already making names as it has sent Jordan's co-star Dane DeHaan over to The Amazing Spider-Man 2. As the report further elaborates, Jordan, who is in a good place with director Trank, has been meeting with Fox over the possibility taking the fiery role, last played by current Captain America, Chris Evans in the 2005 Fantastic Four film and its 2007 sequel. Apparently, his chances depend on what kind of chemistry he will bring with the rest of the still-unnamed potential teammates.

That's where this report gets interesting (or perplexing) when coupled with recent rumors that has Girls actress, Allison Williams pegged to play Sue Storm, aka The Invisible Woman. Last portrayed by a blondified Jessica Alba in the last series, Sue also happens to be Johnny's sister. While the color-blind casting might seemingly invalidate the Williams story, it is entirely possible that the new script could simply modify the relationship of the Storm siblings to be half-brother and half-sister. Jordan's potential casting certainly presents some intriguing options for a comic book film franchise that's in much need of a revamping, but it may not go over well with purist comic book fans. (And, probably not from the practical standpoint of brand-identification with the existing comic book titles, as well.) Still, if the script is good enough, then, much like Iron Man did in 2008, it could be the film that redefines the tone for everything else.

The Fantastic Four is currently set to bring a cosmic-powered crucible of pain and flames to evil at theaters on March 6, 2015.
