With the release of Halo: Reach  just around the corner, Bungie has been treating us to a series of first looks at the game. Called ViDocs, these short little films give us a tantalizing glimpse into some of the aspects of the game. This new ViDoc, entitled, "A Spartan Will Rise," highlights the Noble Team, the group of Spartan soldiers to which you will belong in the single-player campaign.

We meet Carter (Noble One), the leader of the team, Cat (Noble Two), a tech expert whose curiosity might just kill her, Jun (Noble Three), an expert sniper, Emile (Noble Four), a man possessed with a ton of courage, but perhaps not the best judgment to go with it, Jorge (Noble Five), your heavy weapons specialist, and Noble Six, the character that you will play in the game. An enigma, Noble Six is acknowledged as a world-class badass with a shadowy past.

Check out the ViDoc here, and get ready to defend Reach on September 14!

G4 Prepares To Invade Gamescom 2010

Much like the non-Christians in that Kirk Cameron movie, I have been Left Behind!  Not from the Kingdom of Heaven, but from the German Game Show, GamesCom. My co-workers are all drinking German beer out of steins and playing a bunch of video games, where I'm stuck here. But that's cool. I didn't want to go anyway (single tear rolling down my cheek.)

Anyway, how was your weekend?

G4 Prepares To Invade Gamescom 2010

Convention season keeps on trucking, and so too does G4’s coverage of all of the year’s biggest gaming gatherings. QuakeCon 2010 is currently underway, but that’s not stopping us from looking ahead to next week’s really big show: Gamescom 2010!

G4 will be trekking to Germany to bring you all of the latest and greatest news direct from the convention floor, as well as crazy (some might say baffling) amounts of interviews, hands-on previews, and, per Stephen Johnson’s instructions, “plenty of hot schnitzel-on-schnitzel action,” whatever that means.

We’ll be covering all the big press conferences, including Microsoft, EA, and Sony, and be seeing a host of titles including Fable III, Halo: Reach, inFamous 2, Killzone 3, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II, Portal 2, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Disney Epic Mickey, Dead Space 2, and many, many more.

It’s going to be a wild, lederhosen-rich convention, so tune in starting Tuesday, August  17 for all the Gamescom 2010 coverage your North Rhine-Westphalia hearts can handle. See you then!

Do you know why playing cooperatively in The Lord of the Rings: War in the North with your friends is a good thing? It's not about teamwork or having a higher chance of survival. It's because you can, as a team, kill massive amount of goblins.

Check out The Lord of the Rings: War in the North Gamescom 2010 trailer as a wizard, an elf, and a dwarf infiltrates a stronghold where pints of goblin blood is being spilled all over the place.

There are multiple solutions to problems you may have in your life. Rather than cry about it, you could take on two tough-looking guards with your guns or sneak up on a guard and bust through a brick wall snapping his neck. Oh wait, those are solutions for Adam Jensen in Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

However, if you want to see Adam Jensen in action, why not check out Eidos Montreal's Deus Ex: Human Revolution Gamescom 2010 gameplay trailer down below, which highlights in-your-face-combat, social interactions, and hacking skills. I bet you'll like it.
