The official Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance trailer from E3 2012 shows us what Japanese gamers have been enjoying on the Nintendo 3DS since March. Sora and Riku return in this trailer for the action RPG, and they join forces with Disney favorites like Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy, aka The Three Musketeers.

The Kingdom Hearts 3D release date is July 31, meaning it'll have taken four months to translate all of the dialogue from Japanese to Enlgish.  After that, Square-Enix should be free to make a console sequel with a similar game title minus the "D," as in just Kingdom Hearts 3.

Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance gameplay video from E3 introduce new game mechanics for the next installment of the Kingdom Hearts series. Square Enix Product Manager for Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance Raio Mitsuno explains these mechanics, includng flowmotion, which allows main characters Sora and Riku to interact with anything in their environment--they can ride rails, spin off poles, and kick off walls. Best of all, each mode of movement in Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance is linked to a special finisher.

Another feature of Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance is reality shift. As you attack Nightmares--the main enemies in KH3D:DDD--you can get a prompt to swipe your finger down the touch screen. Doing so unleashes a powerful attack on all onscreen enemies.
For newer players, Raio Mitsuno promises memoirs, short clips released throughout the game that summarize the events of previous Kingdom Hearts games.

LEGO The Lord Of The Rings Announced -- One LEGO Game To Rule Them All

LEGO The Lord of the Rings has been announced by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. Also known as my favorite movies ever.

Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow - Mirror Of Fate Confirmed For 3DS

It's official: Trevor Belmont is coming back, and his next Castlevania adventure will call Nintendo's 3DS handheld home. The June issue of Nintendo Power confirms that MercurySteam is currently working on Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate (yes that is a ridiculously long title), echoing a recent rumor that the original Lords of Shadow dev was working on some kind of sequel.

A bunch of bullet points about the makeup of the game are laid out in the report from GoNintendo, alongside some very rough-looking scans of in-game screens. It looks like MercurySteam is sticking to the 3D brawler gameplay that marked the studio's previous Castlevania console release. Traditionally, portable Castlevania titles have sported a 2D presentation, but the 3DS obviously offers a bit more in the way of processing power.

I'm sad to see the 2D style go, but MercurySteam did solid work on the console Lords of Shadow and I'm willing to give the team the benefit of the doubt on converting that into a portable experience.

Mario Tennis Open

Mario Tennis Open finally brings the sports series to the Nintendo 3DS so we hit the court to bring you our review. The game offers some neat innovations to the franchise, like the gyroscope integration, but ultimately the overall package was too lightweight for us.

"Mario Tennis has appeared in a number of incarnations across several platforms over the years, and the version on display here feels less like a tennis game designed around the eccentricities of the Mario universe, and more like a common arcade-style tennis title – one that happens to feature familiar Mario faces and locations. While that simpler approach robs the game of some expected personality, Mario Tennis Open remains a very solid and approachable on-court affair, which puts the onus on taking advantage of chance shots to overcome opponents."

LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes will feature an all-star cast of characters, yes I'm talking about the Justice League. When the Joker teams up with Lex Luther, the dark, and blocky, knight will have no choice but to call on his other masked friends to help. Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Green Lantern all made the cut.

LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes Gameplay Preview »

For the first time in LEGO history a LEGO game will feature voice acting. Previous installments relied on sighs and squeals to convey plot.

"The LEGO series takes it to the next level by treading into new and dangerous territory: voice acting.  While we didn’t hear any of the tender tones coming from the game this time, be assured that the man behind the mask will have a voice to go along with that mug of his. Developers swear that all of the humor that you loved from the previous game will still be there, only with voices now."

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow

The Castlevania series is the focus of much speculation right now thanks to rumors suggesting that Konami is planning to reveal two new titles at 2012's E3 in June. First up is Castlevania: Mirror of Fate, a rumored Nintendo 3DS game from the same producer and director behind the console release, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow.

Dutch website N1ntendo reported the rumor in a now-removed post that referenced an invite from Konami to a pre-E3 event where the game would be revealed. Lords of Shadow producer David Cox responded to a fan query on Twitter with the suggestion that the report is misinformed, though as Polygon points out, Konami does own web domains connected with the title Castlevania: Mirror of Fate.

Capcom's reveal of the PlayStation 3 and Nintendo 3DS Lost Planet spinoff EX Troopers is still only hours old, but this debut trailer offers more info on what to expect than anything we've read so far. While you get a fair amount of trailer-y cutscene action, you also get a decent sense of how EX Troopers plays. And wouldn't you know it? It looks an awful lot like any other Lost Planet game.

The bulk of the revealing gameplay footage pops up in the latter half of the trailer, with the game's protagonist Bren Turner shooting and dashing around battlefields filled with Akrid of various sizes. The visuals actually look quite impressive, bringing to mind the Gravity Rush comparison that was made in the original reveal. We still don't know much about the makeup of the game, beyond the fact that it follows a cadet who comes to the world of EDN-3rd and quickly finds himself caught up in some kind of conflict between snow pirates and Akrid.

Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance Mark Of Mystery Edition Announced

If you're stoked for Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance you're going to love the just announced Collector's Edition. Square Enix has revealed Mark of Mystery Edition. The box set will set you back around $55 but I think it's going to be worth it.

Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance Mark of Mystery Edition will come with a branded magnetic box, a copy of Kingdom Hearts 3D, a case skin cover, and 12 art cards. You'll also receive five ARG cards that will allow you to unlock rare Dream Eaters.

Kingdom Hearts 3D will be released on July 31 for the Nintendo 3DS.

Lost Planet Spinoff EX Troopers Revealed

Lost Planet 3 is no longer the only upcoming game set in Capcom's sci-fi universe; it is now joined by EX Troopers, which Famitsu reveals (via Andriasang) is coming to PlayStation 3 and Nintendo 3DS. The game features an anime-inspired visual style, a marked change from the more realistic look of the core Lost Planet games.

A subsequent update from Andriasang reveals that the game follows Bren Turner, a young cadet who comes to finish his schooling at the academy on EDN-3rd. There are three bases on the planet which you'll choose from for your base of operations, with each one offering different benefits. The game also features "manga demo" cut scenes to tell the story, in a manner that is apparently similar to Gravity Rush.

That's about all there is to say on the game now, but Capcom fans in Tokyo will get to go hands-on with EX Troopers on June 30 and July 1, 2012 at the annual Capcom Summer Jam. Don't be surprised if we also hear something before then, by way of 2012's E3.

Aqua Blue Nintendo 3DS Will Be Discontinued

Nintendo Japan has revealed the aqua blue 3DS model will no longer be in production, effective really soon. Nintendo's official Japanese site states, "Scheduled to end production shortly." A reason for the decisions was not given, but I can only assume it is the result of the battle of the blues. Blue is the Highlander of colors. There can be only one, and it would appear the newer, Cobalt Blue model may be dominating the blue market.
If you own an aqua blue 3DS, love it, cherish it, whisper nice things to it. Then in a few years put it on ebay because it's a little piece of history.

Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance Pre-orders Get You AR Card Unlocks

Square Enix will release Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance in North America on July 31, 2012, and those who step up to pre-order the game will receive three bonus AR cards that unlock rare Dream Eaters, a press release confirms. The game includes an AR feature that allows you to play with the Dream Eaters pictured on the cards, so this pre-order bonus basically amounts to extra in-game content.

One of the Kingdom Hearts 3D cards unlocks one of three random Dream Eaters: Ursa Circus, Sudo Neko, or (AWESOME name here) Meowjesty. The second card unlocks the R&R Seal Dream Eater and the third unlocks the 360° viewing stand. No, I don't know what any of this means or how awesome it might be. We'll all get to find out in July though!
