Shinobi

Our own tiny little ninja Nikole Zivalich recently got her hands on Shinobi for the Nintendo 3DS, and while she was playing an early build of the handheld action game, all the signs point to it being an awesome title. Here's a taste of her preview

"Shinobi focuses on being stealthy, on keeping secrets, and it turns out Sega took notice. They've been hard at work on the next Shinobi installment for a long time, and we never suspected it. Sega can keep a secret, because the game is near completion with a projected release date of late September."

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D will have several new features including Hint Movies and Boss Mode. Hint Mode is accessed by crawling into giant Gossip Stones called Sheikah Stones. They are scattered throughout the game. They twice as big as a normal gossip stones, glow green and blue and sway back and forth. Once inside a menu of "visions" will be watchable. You'll only be able to access visions for parts of the game you're at. The visions show Link performing attacks, solving puzzles and exploring. They don't straight up tell you what to do, rather they show you what to do. The trailer also shows off Zelda: OoT 3D's Boss Mode, where gamers will get to re-play boss levels.

The Road to E3 2011: Nintendo Report Card

With one newly launched platform (the 3DS), and a mysterious new console on the way (which is set for a grand unveiling at the show), Nintendo has a particularly exciting E3 2011 ahead. It’s been a good year for the publisher, though sales of the ultra-successful Wii are slowing down after a stellar five-and-a-half year run – creating fertile ground for a successor. The 3DS, still technically in its “launch window”, has plenty to prove, and the prospect of several juicy new titles in favorite franchises like Resident Evil, Metal Gear Solid and even good old Kid Icarus is whetting appetites left and right.

But enough about the future – let’s now dial things back one year and see how the big N fared at E3 2010.

Mario Kart 3DS Preview

Mario Kart 3DS may have been delayed into 2012. In a recent interview, Shigeru Miyamoto commented on his shifted focus towards the 3DS. He mentioned the games he was working on for launch this year and Mario Kart 3DS wasn't among the games set for 2011. Miyamoto did say he was working on the title though.

“The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time will be released in June, Starfox this summer and Super Mario 3D, which is completely original, is coming this year. I am involved with these titles and Mario Kart.”

Last month it was reported that Miyamoto planned on releasing Mario Kart 3DS by the end of 2011 but an official release date was never set.

Could this mean Mario Kart 3DS won't be hitting shelves in 2011 afterall?
