Starfox 64 Get July 14 Japanese Releast Date

Starfox 64 3D speaks to me. It inspires me. I am led toward the following, simple ode: Ah, Peppy. Without your wisdom guiding me, I might never have found my way. I might never have gotten those enemies off of my tail. Don't let the 3D change you, Peppy. Lead me. Guide me. Tell me to do a barrel roll.

Peppy, Fox, and crew are returning in the 3D remake of the high-flying classic. We got some hands-on time with the 3DS title and Jake Gaskill's here to report his first impressions:

"The moment I pulled off my first back flip reversal to get the drop on an enemy that I had carelessly overflown during my hands-on time with Starfox 64 3DS at E3 2011, I was instantly transported to my childhood bedroom where a much younger version of myself used to sit cross-legged for hours at a time playing the original Starfox 64. Needless to say, finally getting my hands on the game after all these years was one of the highlights of this year’s E3, helped along by the fact that the 3DS remastering of this classic flight shooter plays exactly like you’d hope it would, and it works beautifully in 3D."

Things are looking up for this remake. Do a barrel roll over to our Starfox 64 3D Preview and see what you think.

Can You Handle The Horror Of 3D Ghosts? Find Out In Our Luigi's Mansion 2 Impressions

Gamecube classic Luigi's Mansion is finally, yes finally, getting a sequel. Mario's brother gets the spotlight in this 3DS game that once again sends Luigi into the heart of a haunted mansion. I think most people were shocked when Nintendo announced Luigi's Mansion 2 at E3, but you may be even more surprised by how fun it is.

"Almost as impressive as the engaging presentation, was the game’s solid controls. Like its predecessor, the sequel sees Luigi stunning ghosts with a bright light, then sucking them up with his Proton Pack-like vacuum cleaner, dubbed the Poltergust 5000. The system’s shoulder buttons control the deadly Dustbutser, with the right trigger sucking and the left blowing. Some minor tweaks, such as a button prompt encouraging quicker capture and the light working more like a flashbang than traditional beam, refine the classic controls while also tailoring them to the 3DS. The single analog pad means you can’t move Luigi and the vacuum independently, but this didn’t seem to detract from the intuitiveness during my brief time at the controls."

Don't miss out on one of the best 3DS games from E3, read our Luigi's Mansion 2 3DS preview now.

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time -- the videogame that holds the world record as the "highest rated video game ever reviewed" -- is back in three dimensions. Announced as a launch title for the Nintendo 3DS when the system was first announced, Ocarina of Time 3D was pushed, but it's finally out and into the hands of adoring Zelda fans around the world.

TheFeed's resident Zelda enthusist Nikole Z reviewed the game:

"The glaringly obvious addition is the 3D graphics. The Nintendo 3DS projects multiple layers to offer a 3D effect without glasses. Zelda: OoT looks great in 3D. The polygonal graphics from the N64 translate perfectly on the 3DS. They were designed to look 3D after all. With full 3D effect on, Link and the other characters and objects in the foreground looked close to you. The background had a level of depth you didn't have when you turned 3D on. If you can stomach it, play the game in 3D. I say "if" because for the most part, I couldn't."

BlazBlue: Continuum Shift 2

BlazBlue has left the big screen yet again and is going wherever you take your PSP or 3DS in BlazBlue Continuum Shift 2. Fans of the franchise will be happy to know that this iteration of the title includes all of the fighters from BBCS2 (including the three DLC characters from the 360 and PS3: Makoto, Valkenhayn, and Platinum) and unlockable alternate costumes and voices that usually sell for real-life coins in the online stores. Brian Leahy's got the rest of the scoop:

"The Continuum Shift story is included in full and is still just as ridiculous as ever. It’s definitely not going to appeal to everyone and I’ve grown a bit tired of its format requiring you to play through each character and selectively win, lose, or fulfill special conditions to move on and see each fighter’s “true ending.” I find myself skipping the story in new BB games, but new players should at least give it a shot. Beyond that, you’ll get a laundry list of modes highlighted by an improved Legion Mode and the all-new Abyss mode."

Discover all of this and more in our BlazBlue Continuum Shift 2 Review.

Captain America: Super Solider might put fans of ol' Cap in the right place this July, which is to say on their couch, game controllers in hand, tossing the star-spangled shield about virtual Nazi-infested WWII locales. The game will feature writing by comic book author Cristos Gage, who you may know from several tie-ins to Marvel's Secret Invasion event. We caught up with Derrek Peel, brand manager at SEGA, producers of Super Soldier, and he shared with us some details of The First Avenger's early adventures:

I'm not sure how I feel about hyperactive comedian Robin Williams promoting The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on television, but since the guy named his daughter after Zelda, I guess he's legit. Bonus: Williams has an epic beard.

Enjoy this television commercial where Williams, his beard, and his daughter try to sell you the 3DS version of the best video game ever made:

Need For Speed The Run

Need for Speed: The Run is set to be the biggest, most action-packed entry in the series yet, full of an ominous pursuing force that will use any means necessary to stop protagonist Jack, car chases (and subsequent wrecks), explosions and dramatic story pieces that will take players out from behind the wheel for the first time. It's basically the 1995 movie Heat in video game form.

Okay, so I have no idea if that's true. But a girl can hope! And judging from Adam Rosenburg's preview, even if that's not quite the plot, it still looks just as awesome.

"The Run kicks off in San Francisco, California, moving across the country with stops in other real world locations – a first for the series – at key moments in the race. The endgame goal is New York City, which means that the Chicago-set E3 2011 demo is most likely roughly two-thirds of the way into the game. Whoever Jack pissed off, and the reasons why, have long since been established…now those same individuals are out to get him. With an attack helicopter, naturally."

The Frostbite 2-powered racer will be powersliding through your streets November 15, 2011. Until then, try and keep up with the smoking tires as we follow along up to release. A good place to start? How about the full E3 2011 Need for Speed: The Run preview?

In Need for Speed: The Run, Electronic Arts displays a journalist-like taste for puns, change, and high-speed car chases. Okay, so maybe only the first two relate back to journalism, but you probably won't hear anyone complaining about the third come November 15, 2011 when The Run drops. So what are EA and Black Box doing to make this race the most exciting yet? Check out the video below and hear it straight from EA Producer Alex Grimbley!

Dead Or Alive Dimensions Fights Its Way Back Into The Fighting Game Scene

The Dead or Alive franchise is back after a six year hiatus with Dead or Alive: Dimensions. The game includes every character from the DOA series and they unlock as you proceed through a variety of modes and tutorials.

"It’s exceptionally easy to execute incredible-looking combos and special moves by way of the 3DS touch screen. Most attacks are easy to pull off, and they string together in an organic, effective way, but if you’re stuck on a complex input, simply tapping it on the long list of character moves lets it loose. Fights don’t last long because these hits land hard and they are ferociously quick, so ripping through 20 or 30 fighters in the survival mode takes just a few minutes. Ripping through these bouts so quickly is dangerous for completionists—there are hundreds of collectible doodads, usually meant for taking 3D photos, which come from almost every win."

To check out all of our impressions on Dead or Alive Dimensions, including the impressive tutorial, online match making, and how the 3D holds up, read our entire Dead or Alive: Dimensions review.

Rayman Origins Episode One Hits PS3, 360 This Christmas

Rayman Origins is set to explore the hilarious and colorful world of creator Michel Ancel in classic 2D platforming style later this year, and we couldn't be happier. Ubisoft's mascot Rayman hasn't been seen in awhile, no thanks to those rabbids overshadowing him with their buggy eyes and iconic screams. But now the no-armed wonder is back, hopping his way across visually-intense landscapes in a prequel that explores the character's roots, as Jeffrey Matulef explains:

"While we've seen a resurgence of 2D games lately, they're usually low budget digital downloads or for the graphically subpar Wii. Games like Donkey Kong Country Returns and Muramasa: The Demon Blade looked good, but left plenty of room for improvement with our grossly powerful HD consoles untapped. There seems to be a notion that if a game is 2D it's lesser, and thus making a full-priced high-definition one is virtually unheard of. Rayman Origins seeks to go against this and prove that 2D can be every bit as beautiful and enjoyable as 3D."

So no, it's not Beyond Good & Evil 2, and I'm just as crushed as you that we didn't get to see Jade and Uncle Pey'j back in action. However, from what I've seen of Rayman Origins, my pain will soon be gone, replaced with childlike joy and gorgeous eye candy. If you want to see what's consoled me in this difficult time, head over and check out the full Rayman Origins E3 2011 hands-on preview!
