Resident Evil: Revelations Extended TGS 2011 Trailer »

The identity of the woman seen in this Tokyo Game Show trailer for Capcom's Resident Evil: Revelations is a mystery, both to us and to protagonist Jill Valentine. There's a bigger mystery here though, one that will haunt me for the rest of my day. How the hell does she SEE out from behind all that hair? Are her bangs equipped with a digital heads-up display?

Follicular conundrums aside, Revelations is looking like a mighty solid game for Nintendo's 3DS. Visually, it's one of the best I've seen on the platform and the gameplay does a good job of capturing that old school Resident Evil flavor. Only a sampling has been seen so far, but we can expect more to emerge as the game's early 2012 release approaches.

X-Play's video review for Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D delves into the age old question: Should I buy this game? Adam Sessler details the reasons this game is fun, but flawed. If you would rather read, we have theResident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D review available too. We're all about options here at G4.

LEGO Harry Potter Years 5-7 Release Date Announced

Warner Bros. has announced the release date of LEGO Harry Potter Years 5-7. The end of the adorable yet more mature version of the Potter story is coming out for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, PSP, DS, and Nintendo 3DS on November 15.

The game will whisk you away to familiar locations from books 5-7 Order of the Phoenix, Half-Blood Prince and The Deathly Hallows, including Grimmauld Place, the Ministry of Magic and Godric's Hollow. If you want to check out the game early on the PlayStation 3, The Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 Blu-ray combo pack will come with a demo on November 11.

There are few games out there that are as charming (ha, get it?) as LEGO Harry Potter. I love every single thing about the first one in the series, LEGO Harry Potter Years 1-4, and can't wait to get my hands on this one. I love seeing how the story plays out in LEGOs, and I can't wait to collect all the studs. Will you be picking up LEGO Harry Potter Years 5-7?

Tekken 3D

We got the chance to go hands-on with a brief demo of Tekken 3D Prime at the Tokyo Game Show. Trying to follow suit with the successful Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition, Tekken 3D Prime is faithful translation of the beloved Tekken brand in to handheld form.

"Perhaps more important than graphical flourishes is the core fighting gameplay, and Tekken 3D Prime Edition delivers an authentic Iron Fist experience. Movement and directional input can be accomplished with either the analog slider or the d-pad, and the button layout will feel instantly familiar to Tekken pad-players. An exclusive addition tailored for the 3DS are pre-programmed command sequences that can be activated by touching one of four panels on the bottom screen. It was hinted that players by be able to program these combos themselves, making access to a damaging string as easy as a finger swipe."

Be sure to read our full Tekken 3D Prime preview from the Tokyo Game Show.

How To Become A Video Game Journalist

Want to be a video game journalist? I'll let you in on a little secret. Even professional video game journalists don't know how to define “video game journalist,” because we do so many different things. We're reviewers, critics, previewers, live event reporters, bloggers, interviewers, and columnists. If you want the gig full-time, you should be prepared to write all of the above.

Most outlets have plenty of established writers to fulfill those roles, so it can be difficult to break in writing this sort of material unless you already have connections. There's one kind of games writing that's always in demand, however: features. If you can consistently write solid, well-researched features with unique angles, you will find work in this business, and once you have a reputation as a dependable feature writer, it's just a matter of waiting for the right position to open up.

So rather than give you vague advice about how to do the whole job, that no one is able to define in the first place, I'm going to tell you how to get into writing features. If you can jump that hurdle, you'll be well on your way.

world ends with you nekuAccording to a report from Siliconera, Neku from the amazing Nintendo DS title The World Ends With You will be featured in the upcoming Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance. That is so freaking awesome!

Up until now Kingdom Hearts has only included characters from the Final Fantasy series and Disney characters, so to see the development team stepping out and expanding to other amazing Square Enix games is very welcome. Like Kingdom Hearts, TWEWY was also conceptualized by Tetsuya Nomura, so it's not too much of a step outside of their comfort zone.

We're not sure to what length Neku will be included in the game, but from what Siliconera played in their Tokyo Game Show demo you'll meet Neku in Traverse Town with Sora as he's trying to find his old buddy Riku.

I'm pretty excited to hear this unexpected news! What other surprises do you think Kingdom Hearts 3D will hold, and what other characters would you like to see?

G4U: The Singapore-MIT GAMBIT Video Game Program Wants To Teach You Game Design

You may have seen men and women in white lab coats under extremely large, orange banners from the Singapore-MIT GAMBIT Game Lab if you attended PAX East 2011. They were a contingent showing off the results of their collaborative efforts meant to promote and discover inventive directions in game design.

You may already be familiar with some of the Lab’s work, but didn’t realize it. Carneyvale: Showtime was released as an Xbox Live Indie title in 2008, and in 2009 was featured as part of PAX 10, which promotes the work of indie creators. Critics praised the game’s polish and design, and a version was released in 2010 for Windows Phone 7 was described as the platform’s “early, lofty, benchmark.”

Carneyvale is just one of four “featured games” on the GAMBIT website, but it’s important to remember that the primary focus of the Lab is not commercial product, but experimentation. The first time I ever met a GAMBIT member was earlier this year in May, during the Games Beyond Entertainment conference held in Boston, MA. Lab Interaction Design Director Marleigh Norton gave a short presentation of an audio-only, single-button game she was developing. This sort of research is one of the Lab’s primary mandates.

Soulcalibur 5 Screenshots: See Ivy, Natsu And Zwei In Action

Namco Bandai did some talking yesterday at Tokyo Game Show, confirming release plans for a number of its upcoming games. The highlight for many will be Soulcalibur V, which is expected to see a global release sometime in the first quarter of 2012.

The Nintendo 3DS title Tekken 3D Prime Edition will be arriving at around the same time, only there's a more specific window of February 2012 for its arrival. Also set for early '12 releases are three PlayStation Vita games: Ridge Racer, Shinobido 2: Tales of the Ninja and, awesomely, Katamari Damacy.

Finally, the publisher revealed that Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy, the upcoming 3DS entry in the flight combat series, will arrive in the U.S. on November 15, roughly a month after the console version arrives.

There aren't many things you can count on in this troubled world. One thing that remains consistent time and time again is a little webshow we like to call "Feedback." We like to call it that mainly because that's what it is called. Feedback is my constant. We have to go back!

This episode, the Feedback dream team is in the house to learn you something fierce. Adam "Syndicate" Sessler welcomes Blair "Crown of Thorns" Herter, Steve "The Bangles" Johnson, and Nikole "Third-Person" Zivalich.

This week, G4 is trying to get you a job in the gaming industry with G4 University. The panel discusses how they got their starts at G4.

...And now for something completely different: Let's talk about taxes! Actually, we decided to talk about ways video game companies can get out of paying their taxes. It's a jolly good discussion, and you may learn something. News was rounded out with a potential new segment: Nintend-Oh-No!, a chance for us to reflect on the weird choices Nintendo makes, like the Circle Pad.

We had two Games of the Week on this episode, Dead Island and Warhammer 40K: Space Marine. Both games fell short of being amazing titles, but for different reasons.

I know what you're thinking, "There's way too much content in this episode. I don't know if I can handle it!" Now little Timmy, (I assume you're all named Timmy) it's true there is more content in this episode than some may be able to fathom. But if the weak don't make it, so be it.

Feedback -- Dead Island & Warhammer 40K: Space Marine Impressions »

The AUDIO MP3 of this episode of FEEDBACK is available here: Right-click and Save.

If you're one of the elite, the chosen, the hardcore, who can handle an episode of this magnitude then I urge you to fight on and leave a comment.

We live in a crazy world full of chaos and crime, and it's always changing. In these uncertain times only one thing remains constant: Mario Kart. Banana peels and red shells are now in 3D; the perfect dimension to calm the soul. The latest trailer for Mario Kart 7 is speeding towards us straight from Tokyo Game Show.

Mario Kart 7 will be released on December 4, 2011.

Tokyo Game Show 2011 was the perfect opportunity to reveal the latest MGS: Snake Eater 3D trailer. In it, Solid Snake is doing what he does best, kicking ass and squatting. I'd say he's equally good at both activities. The trailer also demonstrates how the 3DS can be used to balance Snake.

Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D does not have a confirmed release date but early 2012 is looking likely.

Nintendo showed off a handful of games at their 3DS Tokyo Game Show conference. One of these games was Super Mario 3D Land. The game is a return to Mario's classic platforming roots, complete with Tanooki suits, and Bowser. Of course the entire adventure is in 3D!
