The Last of Us Game Director Bruce Straley and Creative Director Neil Druckmann present this gameplay demo video of an upcoming zombie shooter at E3 2012.
In this God of War: Ascension gameplay video from the Sony E3 2012 press conference, you can witness Kratos back in action as he takes down enemies and even rebuilds destroyed structures. And there's plenty of blood, too.
God of War: Ascension will be released on March 12th, 2013 but in the meantime, watch the full gameplay below.
As you might have guessed from that collective “Holy crap!” you might have just heard, The Last of Us gameplay demo that was shown during Sony’s E3 2012 press conference was one WTF moment after another. There weren’t any huge new features revealed, but the gameplay provide more than enough little tidbits to hold us over until we see the game up close this week during E3.
We’ll have the full demo video up shortly, but in the meantime, here are some of the highlights that had our office whooping and hollering:
- I for one am a sucker for great character animations, and seeing how Joel and Ellie sidestep, put their hands up on cover in front of them, slip through windows, and choke fools to death were just too damn cool for words.
- The sound design is super crisp, bringing each gunshot, footstep, and enemy scream to your ears with terrifying clarity.
- The overgrown desolation of the game's setting couldn't be more enthralling, and the sense of scope is remarkable, especially since it's not an open-world game.
- Molotov cocktails have been confirmed, as demonstrated by Joel who torched a couple unfortunately flammable foes in the only way any self-respecting survivalist would.
- Melee takedowns are especially brutal, and they blend seamlessly into the action. At one point, Joel charged a shotgun-toting dude and instead of just grabbing from him, there was a super intense struggle between the two, giving the typically throwaway moment another level of intensity. Once Joel secured the weapon, he then beat the fool about the face with the butt of the shotgun until he was dead. But then things got even more heated when another enemy hit Joel from behind before tackling him roughly to the ground. As the two struggled for control of a pistol, Ellie came charging from behind and stabbed the enemy in the back. As the injured attacker flailed in pain on the ground, Joel took the opportunity to put a shotgun round into the dude’s face just as the demo cut to black.
There were plenty of other details worth discussing, but we'll have to wait until we can rewatch the demo to pick them out. In the meantime, be sure to check out our latest The Last of Us preview for more details.
This Assassin's Creed 3: gameplay video was presented during Sony's press conference at E3 2012. When Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation--the PS Vita side story featuring the first female assassin--comes out, Assassin Creed 3 players will be able to link their games, unlocking exclusive content in AC 3, including character skins and Connor Kenway's tomahawk.

The Unfinished Swan gameplay video from E3 2012 previews the long-delayed indie project that Sony has secured as a PSN-exclusive. The bad news is that it still isn't out yet. The good news is that the game is as creative as it has been delayed.
Players assume the role of a young boy and are greeted with a completely white world in which they must throw black paintballs to feel their way around the otherwise blank levels. For more, watch this gameplay video of creative director Ian Dallas talking about how The Unfinished Swan continues Sony's trend of releasing unique games for PS3 via PSN.
God of War: Ascension has a release date. You can get your hands on Kratos again on March 12, 2013. The release date was revealed during Sony's E3 2012 press conference. Sony showed off a single player demo for God of War: Ascension which featured new enemies and what looks like new powers. There were cow and elephant enemies, as well as a Kraken. It appears as though Kratos had the power to turn back time too. More details as they develop.

Microsoft presented a gameplay video of Fable: The Journey at E3 2012. The game puts players in the role of a powerful elemental wizard who, in this video, must take down an enormous beast using fireball-esqe spells.
Wonderbook has been announced for PlayStation 3. It will be released in Fall 2012.
The book peripheral uses augmented reality sensors to bring stories to life before your eyes (aka on the television screen in front of you).
Sony is partnering with developers such as Moonbot Studios and, most noteworthy, Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling, who has created the first Wonderbook title, Book of Spells.
Book of Spells represents the first partnership between PlayStation and Pottermore, Rowling's expansive hub for all things relating to the Boy Who Lived. As you'd expect, Book of Spells lets players cast spells using the PlayStation Move and explore the whimsical fantasy lands of Rowling's creation.
The title will also include exclusive new and original writing from Rowling, but no other details were shared.

The ZombiU trailer at the Ubisoft E3 2012 Press Conference clearly took its cues from the Dead Island trailer from a couple of years ago. Slowly moving through a frozen, zombie-filled environment and listening to a peaceful rendition of "God Save The Queen," we once again see how zombies transform people's otherwise tranquill lives into sheer madness.
Interestingly, ZombiU - not spelt Zombie U or Zombi U, mind you - will come out for the forthcoming Nintendo Wii U. Ubisoft didn't demo how ZombiU will make use of the newly named Nintendo Gamepad or anything about the game's characters. However, it's safe to assume that the ZombiU story will take place other side of the pond.
Call of Duty: Declassified has been announced for the PlayStation Vita.
Sony made the official reveal during its E3 2012 press conference, but offered little details beyond the promise of a AAA shooter experience thanks to the Vita's dual thumbsticks and graphical horsepower.
Sony announced PS Plus Members are about to get a bunch of free games this month. Some of the titles include InFamous 2, Little Big Planet 2 and Saints Row 2. This offer begins tomorrow.
PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale has been announced for the PS Vita. It will be cross-playable with the PS3 version of the game. This news broke at Sony's E3 2012 press conference. For more on PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale check out the PlayStation All-Stars trailer or our PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale preview.
The official multiplayer trailer for Gears of War: Judgment for E3 2012 shows off the insane combat tricks and player and insect characters players can use. Among these insect characters, players of Gears of War: Judgment will be able to take control of other players, spit acid, drill through enemies with a spike shield, and, very simply, smash face.
