Left 4 Dead 2 DLC

Long-awaited Left 4 Dead 2 DLC "Cold Stream" has become even more long-awaited. The DLC was to launch on the Xbox 360 and Steam today, but the console version has yet to be seen.

In a response on Twitter, Valve confirmed they were working with Microsoft to get the L4D2 content released.

"we are working with MS on a release schedule. We don't have an ETA yet but we hope to have it out soon."

I'll let you know when Valve says more about Cold Stream, unless they just release it, then I'll be too busy playing. (I joke; I'll let you know!)

Mass Effect 3 Earth DLC Revealed - New Maps, More Upgrades, and Platinum Difficulty

Mass Effect 3 needs you once again to protect the universe against the vile scum out to destroy it. And this time, we’re taking the fight to our own backyard. Mass Effect 3: Earth, the new DLC dropping on July 17, takes players around the world to defend Rio De Janeiro, London, and Vancouver in three new maps.

This Mass Effect 3 DLC comes with a whole new lineup of elite N7 forces to protect civilization along with 12 new modification and 11 new upgrades to your gear. Older missions also get a touch up with a new mission objective that randomly occurs during waves three, six, and 10. You’ll need to play bodyguard to one of your teammates as you escort them to the designated extraction zone on each map. Singing Whitney’s “I Will Always Love You” while you do it is purely optional.

Along with all of that, players can risk it all in the new difficulty level, Platinum.

As we reported earlier, the DLC will come to you free of charge. With new characters, weapon mods, and maps all coming to you for nothing out of your pocket; there’s no reason not jump back into the fight July 17 and try to boost your galactic readiness once again.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3

If you're a Call of Duty fan and have yet to pick up Modern Warfare 3 DLC or Black Ops DLC, now's the time as Activision has discounted all Black Ops DLC and current Modern Warfare 3 Content Collections by 50%! Starting now, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC owners can grab half-off DLC through the week.

The Call of Duty DLC summer promotion content includes:

•    Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Content Collection #1
•    Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Content Collection #2
•    Call of Duty: Black Ops First Strike
•    Call of Duty: Black Ops Escalation
•    Call of Duty: Black Ops Annihilation
•    Call of Duty: Black Ops Rezurrection

Even better, a portion of sales from the Call of Duty DLC promotion will be donated by Activision Publishing, Inc. to the Call of Duty Endowment, a non-profit organization that provides job placement and training services for veterans. So don't just do it to play George Romero's zombie adventure or to engage in new Spec Ops modes with friends... do it for the vets!

The first DLC pack for Max Payne 3, entitled Local Justice, hits Xbox Live and PlayStation Network tomorrow, bringing with it three new multiplayer maps, a new weapon, new item, and a new multiplayer faction (more on those in a second). Now, as anyone with any online shooter experience will tell you, running into a map blind is the best way to get yourself killed in a hurry. Luckily for you, the folks at Rockstar Games have gone ahead and broken down the new maps--Imperial Palace, 55th Battalion HQ, and Departure Lounge--to highlight some of their key features and ensure you know exactly what sort of ballistic mayhem you’ll be walking into in the DLC.

Max Payne 3 Justice Pack Maps and Content Preview

If you’ve finished the Max Payne 3 campaign, then you’ll recognize the three maps since they play host to some of the game’s most intense and frenetic shootouts. The first map is Imperial Palace (click to enlarge), which seems to boast plenty of close-quarters action, while also providing some choice spots for sniping at the eastern most part of the lower level. There is also a balcony near the middle of the map that can give you a vertical drop on foes below. Just looking at those ramps leading between levels has me turning around in my chair to see if there’s anyone waiting to put a slug in my back. I predict a LOT of deaths on those ramps. A lot.

Skyrim: Dawnguard

Skyrim's new DLC Dawnguard adds in not only the Vampire goodness we expected, but also a few new shouts for your Dragonborn to use. For the most part, they're pretty straightforward, closely linked to the questline, but some words are a little tricky. Use this handy guide to go out and learn a few new Words.

Drain Vitality - This new shout will drain Health, Magicka. and Stamina from your target. You will find two words for it in areas that are directly related to the Dawnguard quest line, with the final one in Skyrim itself.

For the first Word, you are likely to find it located in Dimhollow Crypt, which is quest related.

The second Word is tied to a quest area located in the Forgotten Vale, on an island in a Frozen Lake - be prepared for a fight two named dragons for this one though.

The final Word is located at Arcwind Point, which is to the south of Ivarstead and east of Riften.

Durnehviir - After you've battled this undead Dragon in the Soul Cairn, you have a conversation with him. He'll teach you a shout that allows you to call him to your aid in Tamriel. By doing so, you'll also learn the third new Shout through Durnehviir.

Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut DLC Release Date Announced -- Closure Is Coming

The Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut DLC Review

Mass Effect 3 gamers demanded closure, answers, and some changes when they asked for more from BioWare. Now that the Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut DLC has been released, many gamers will discover they’re not actually getting the complete package they wished for. Be warned, spoilers abound in this review; it is after all my take on the Extended Cut patch for the Mass Effect 3 ending. The DLC does not offer a different “Shepard kicks ass, takes name, and gets the boy” ending, rather it offers a few more pieces of dialogue in the final scene, some stills showing life after your choice, and a cutscene showing your most beloved crew member adding your name to the Normandy’s memorial wall. A fourth choice is added, but the results probably aren’t what you want either.

Does This Set A Bad Precedent?
For the most part, this DLC does not change the ending the writers had intended. It’s less of an addendum to the story and more of a post-launch patch for the script. You’ll get additional cut scenes which add a “Where are they now” amount of information, but except for a few minor alterations, the DLC does nothing to change the fate of Shepard. Does this set a bad precedent? Gamers already think with the right volume, they’ll be able to demand changes of game makers, but in reality they didn’t get any major tweaks, just added information. On the flip side, this allowed BioWare to explain their choices, and win back the love of many gamers who really wanted to say goodbye.

Spec Ops The Line

To celebrate the launch of Spec Ops: The Line, 2K Games announced that DLC is coming "approximately" in August. The DLC will feature four cooperative missions set before events of single-player campaign,  as well as new levels and playable characters. The greatest detail of the DLC, though: It will be free.

2K originally announced the co-op content a few weeks ago. According to 2K, in the missions, two players must work together to "fight through waves of enemies and blinding sandstorms to complete their objectives, emphasizing teamwork and utilizing a variety of weapons and explosives."

We've been really impressed with Spec Ops: The Line, and urge you to check out all of our Spec Ops: The Line coverage, including videos, previews, comedy and mroe.
