Sony announced today that Guerilla Games’ upcoming shooter threequel Killzone 3 now has an official release date: February 22, 2011.
Fake Sony executive/pitchman Kevin Butler has a knack for bringing the funny by the butler-full, and even though his latest ad features far less Butler than we'd like (it's actually all about demonstrating the wide demographic appeal of the PlayStation Move), it's worth watching just for the closing shot. Man, that Butler is a beast.
We reviewed Move earlier in the week, and, even though Stephen "Eric" Johnson does sort of resemble a viking, nothing burst into flames for us just yet.

We recently took a look at the PlayStation Move, and along with a review of the technology itself, we also examined the initial offering of games. There were some duds, and some solid titles among the batch. Overall, a mixed bag. But that's not out-of-the-ordinary for the first batch of games to utilize a new technology. What really counts is what's next.
While we'll have to wait a bit for the biggest titles (SOCOM 4, Sorcery, inFamous 2, and Killzone 3 are all coming in 2011), there's still a lot of Move fun to be had in the coming months. Below, please find some of the most notable Move titles coming up.
Today is PlayStation Move day here at G4. We've been playing around with Sony's new motion control device for a while now, and today we can tell you all about it. You're fortunate.

Overall: It's a pretty mixed bag, I think you will agree, but the Move shows a lot of potential. I can't wait to see more games and more uses for the device.
Media Molecule have taken big, big strides with their upcoming PlayStation 3 title LittleBigPlanet 2, the follow up to the team’s adorable platforming creativity-fest. Not only has the scope of Sackboy’s adventure seen massive expansions, but the building blocks and toolsets available to players this time around are truly staggering (Check out my preview for more details.)
One of the big new features is the music sequencer, which lets players create their own custom soundtracks and voiceovers. But as Media Molecule technical director Alex Evans told us during Gamecom 2010, the developers actually discovered some rather unexpected uses for the sequencer.
“What was really cool was that our designers started using the sequencer, and they weren’t just using it for music. They were using it to sequence cameras and cutscenes and story, and suddenly we realized that this sequencer is a really great way, an easy way of making levels.”
We've been playing with our Move here at G4's offices for the past week or so, and you can read the collective verdict right here. So now it's down to you: How many of your PlayStation-heads out there are planning on picking up a Move when they go on sale this fall?
The fact that sometimes we run through the office screaming "Jason! Jason! Jason!" at each other is testimony to the fact that Heavy Rain is an influential game. We're big fans of it around here, so we were excited to test it out with PlayStation Move integration.
Heavy Rain creator David Cage has gone on record saying that there probably won't be any more DLC because the team has been tapped to do Move support. Now, finally, we get to see the fruits of their labor.
I love Tiger Woods. And I love golf. I’ve been playing both for a long, long time, and when I heard that EA would be integrating PlayStation Move controls into Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11, I was very much looking forward to playing a game that showed my one-to-one prowess with the sticks.
So, you can imagine my disappointment when I played the game and realized that the end result is more complicated than playing traditional Tiger Woods or actually golf. I was so frustrated that I wanted to break my imaginary driver over my knee and spend the rest of the day at the 19th Hole, drowning my sorrows in a bucket of whiskey.
It's odd that in 2010, almost four years after the launch of the Wii, the motion control wars are finally heating up. The continued success of the Wii has pushed Microsoft and Sony to answer, and Sony is swinging first on September 17th with the release of the PlayStation Move.
Move featured prominently into Sony's lineup at this year's E3, but that was just a taste. Now with the release looming, we've been able to spend some quality time with the hardware and are ready to talk about what it's like to use in the wild.
This Changes Everything?
There's been a lot of skepticism about the very concept of the Move. To be frank, in concept, it's very similar to the Wii. Move consists of a motion controller with a glowing orb on the end and a wireless navigation controller with an analog stick and d-pad on it. The two controllers work in conjunction with the already available PlayStation Eye to deliver a one-to-one motion control experience.
Tiger Woods isn't the only golfer out there with a video game. John Daly, the people's golfer, is coming out with his first branded golfing game on October 8. We spoke to Jerry Whitehead, public relations for O-Games, and he gave us a walkthrough of John Daly's Prostroke Golf for the PlayStation 3.
Daly's golf game was built from the ground-up with the PlayStation Move, and it's obvious from the subtlety and responsiveness of the controls. Check it out in the video below:
A PlayStation Move powered mini-game collection featuring a mishmash of classic PlayStation franchises? Definitely not the worst Move concept I’ve heard, and based on what we saw of Sony’s Heroes on the Move during Gamescom, it actually could end up being a fairly solid collection. Jem Alexander spent some hands-on time with the game, and had this to say about the experience:
“It will probably come as no surprise to you that Heroes On The Move is a minigame collection. However, it's probably one of the more competent minigame collections that I've seen. For those who are looking for a meaty game experience, that's somewhere akin to saying that I've just had a reasonably painless poke in the eye. Though, for fans of the franchises or those looking for another reason to pick up a Move in the next six months, it might be worth a look.”

Ubisoft today revealed a bunch of track for the Michael Jackson The Experiencee at Gamescom today. The all-singing, all-dancing vid game coming out for the Kinect, Wii and PlayStation Move will be out this fall.
Today, Sony announced that a PlayStation 3 with a 320 GB harddrive is coming. The new PS3 will be bundled with Move, a Playstation Eye camera, a copy of Sports Champions, and bonus Blu-ray game demo disc for $399.99
The smaller PS3 will feature a 160 GB drive and will run you $299.99.
I like golf video games, but I hate actual golf. Go figure. Anyway, I'm sick of Tiger Woods. It's not the sloot-banging I have a problem with, it's the self-righteous smugness that has always defined Tiger's persona. That's while I'll be playing John Daly's ProStroke Golf when it comes out on October 8.
John Daly may not have racked up the number of wins, the prize money or the fame of a Tiger Woods, but "The Lion" is honest as the day is long, wears loud, Caddyshack style clothes and seems to wrestle with his personal demons as hard as he wrestles with hitting a ball into a cup. In short: Daly is a golfer for THE PEOPLE.
Anyway, Pro-Stroke was built from the ground up for the Playstation Move, and features 12 "varied and challenging courses," populated with interactive spectators to bring a "rich match-day atmosphere to life."
Watch for it, golf-suckas.
