Halloween is the perfect day to check out this dark, grisly trailer for PlayStation Move game Until Dawn. Until Dawn was one of the surprises at Gamescom 2012, and basically puts you into the role of hero of a teen slasher flick. If you want your friend to live, you'll have to follow directions very, very carefully.

Puppeteer Gamescom 2012 Trailer »

Sony has announced another exclusive PS3 game, Puppeteer.

The Move-enabled game takes place in "The theater of the strange and fantastic," and follows the story of a headless puppet-boy. Luckily, the boy can replace his head with different objects in the enviroment in order to progress. The heads give him different powers, and the game features a unique mechanic where the character doesn't really move, but the scenery changes around him.

Until Dawn Announced For PS3 -- Survive Your Own Horror Movie

Until Dawn has just been announced for the PS3. The game plays like an interactive horror film. You will play as seven characters, all good looking young adults, so you know they're probably going to die. The goal of the game is to survive until dawn, but thanks to an isolated location, an exciting script and a dark secret, survival won't be easy.

The reveal trailer for Until Dawn looked like a modern day horror film. A group of teens, or young adults, head up to a cabin to get away, and let's just say something goes terribly wrong. The final scene is a young woman in her underwear being violently pulled back into the house.

Until Dawn will feature PS Move support but that feature was not demoed on the Sony stage during Gamescom 2012.

I love gimmicky video game crap more than I love anything else, and Cabela's Dangerous Hunts 2013 has a killer gimmick: The Fearmaster. The Fearmaster is a motion-controlled aiming peripheral that looks like a shotgun and monitors your heart-rate. If you're scared, your gun sight gets shaky. Only by calming yourself while being menaced by a wild bear can you get off a clean shot.

I will be purchasing this, both for The Fearmaster and to slake my constant thirst for the blood of animals.

The Unfinished Swan gameplay video from E3 2012 previews the long-delayed indie project that Sony has secured as a PSN-exclusive. The bad news is that it still isn't out yet. The good news is that the game is as creative as it has been delayed.

Players assume the role of a young boy and are greeted with a completely white world in which they must throw black paintballs to feel their way around the otherwise blank levels. For more, watch this gameplay video of creative director Ian Dallas talking about how The Unfinished Swan continues Sony's trend of releasing unique games for PS3 via PSN.

Wonderbook Announced for PS3; J.K. Rowling's Book of Spells Revealed

Wonderbook has been announced for PlayStation 3. It will be released in Fall 2012.

The book peripheral uses augmented reality sensors to bring stories to life before your eyes (aka on the television screen in front of you).

Sony is partnering with developers such as Moonbot Studios and, most noteworthy, Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling, who has created the first Wonderbook title, Book of Spells.

Book of Spells represents the first partnership between PlayStation and Pottermore, Rowling's expansive hub for all things relating to the Boy Who Lived. As you'd expect, Book of Spells lets players cast spells using the PlayStation Move and explore the whimsical fantasy lands of Rowling's creation.

The title will also include exclusive new and original writing from Rowling, but no other details were shared.

God of War Ascension

Last year, the Sony Press Conference brought out the big guns with their PlayStation Vita reveal, the Dust 514 exclusive, and something called “Transfarring.” We look to this year with hope for more exclusives and hints at what the next console cycle may have in store for us.

As I eagerly clutch my Move controller in my sweaty hand, I turn to the greatest gaming minds at G4 to find out you can expect when Sony takes to the stage this E3 2012.

Jake Gaskill

I’ve been saying it for years, but this will be the one where we finally get a release date for The Last Guardian (Ducks from incoming tomatoes). I know. I know. But I just really want/need to know it’s a real thing and not just some widely publicized dream. Is that so wrong?! Sony might also finally offer an official apology for the PlayStation Move.

Sorcery

PS Move title, Sorcery, has been released, and along with that comes our Sorcery Review. The title casts gamers as a young sorcerer's apprentice. (I imagine Mickey in Fantasia) You're tasked with taking on your master's responsibilities when he goes missing. The Move acts as a wand, and it's actually accurate and fun, but was it enough to make this game great?

"Most of the individual pieces work fine, and Sorcery even looks fairly stellar throughout, though it's lost a bit of the spark seen in the early E3 demo and is prone to slowdown during autosaves. But there's no wonder to the experience and little in the way of excitement or exploration. The single-player adventure follows a pretty set path through the world across forests and strangely empty villages, which wouldn't be an issue if what's held within had some punch to it. But it doesn't; the game relies on just a handful of rudimentary elements, yet seems to assume that even those can't be memorized. Walking up to a chest displays the simple gesture used to unlock it every time, as does approaching a fallen pillar or bridge."

Check out our Sorcery Review for more.

Is Sony Making An Android/PlayStation Gaming Phone?

Sony today announced it is axing 10,000 jobs as part of a plan to pull out of a historically dismal financial spiral. The good news for gamers: Sony name-checked its gaming division as a key part of its strategy for recovery.

"As CEO, I take this very seriously. But at the same time, it strengthened my resolve to transform Sony," Kaz Hirai told  journalists at a press event. "Employees too want to restore Sony to its former glory and go beyond."

That glory will be restored by the company focusing on the company's electronics division, which included game systems, cameras and phones. Sony will be concentrating investment and technological development in its electronics division.

Personally, I'm curious what Sony's plans are for future handheld gaming systems. I wonder if that entire market isn't going to shrink drastically as smart phones become better and better gaming platforms.

Men In Black: Alien Crisis Release Date Announced

Activision's Men In Black: Alien Crisis' release date has been announced. Get ready to experience ultimate alien-zapping on May 22, 2012 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii, three days before the release of Men in Black 3, the movie. Men in Black: Alien Crisis will feature Peter Delacoeur, a MIB agent who's training to find aliens who are planning to destroy the Earth. Pesky aliens, go back to Mars where you belong.

We don't have too many details on the game yet, but so far it seems there will be two different types of gameplay in MIB: Alien Crisis. In one you'll have to dodge guards and surveillance cameras in order to ambush confidential alien intelligence. Alternatively, you'll also have to stop alien attacks. If you have a Wii Zapper or a PlayStation Move sharp shooter peripheral you'll get to dust them off, as they're both compatible with the game.

I'll have to wait for more details on the game to emerge before I pass judgement, but I'm a fan of the Men in Black series itself. What do you think? Are you going to run out and pick up the latest Men in Black video game?

Disney Epic Mickey 2 Announced: Co-Op, Multiplatform And Song And Dance Numbers!

Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two has been announced, and we got to go hands-on with Mickey and his pal Oswald in our first look preview. Epic Mickey 2 will put players back in the Wasteland, but this time around the game will feature drop-in, drop-out co-op, brand new abilities, voice actors, and a whole lot more! Watch a video with Blair Herter and Warren Spector discussing Epic Mickey 2, then check out a snippet from Kevin "I love cheese" Kelly's preview:

"Oswald comes with his own set of abilities, including his remote control that can send out electrical jolts, and a 'Boom-arm-erang' where he takes his own arm off and tosses it out boomerang-style. Oswald also has the ability to use his ears like helicopter blades and hover. If you partner up with Mickey, Oswald can jump in the air while Mickey reaches up and grabs hold of his legs, allowing you to traverse short distances while airborne."

LittleBigPlanet Karting Details -- Race Around The Sack

Sony has released new LittleBigPlanet Karting details. We originally heard of LittleBigPlanet Karting when Canadian retailer FutureShop tweeted about the game's reveal at a Destination PlayStation event. Later, PlayStation tweeted the confirmation of the title, and now we've got the details they promised. Woohoo!

LittleBigPlanet Karting,
developed by United Front Games, in conjunction with Media Molecule, will be out in 2012 exclusively for the PlayStation 3. You'll be jumping in to vibrant 3D game worlds in an for classic kart racing and competitive arena battles. There will also be things like objective based missions, boss battles, and mini-games.

And it wouldn't be LittleBigPlanet if you couldn't customize everything. You'll of course be able to customize Sackboy, but even more importantly, you'll be able to customize your karts as well. As for creating levels, it seems like United Front is making it easier than ever for you to make the track of your dreams.
