Video Game Deathmatch Is Coming!

The time is upon us, gamers: It's Day One of the Videogame Deathmatch. There can only be one winner in the Deathmatch, and soon we will know which video game is the top, best, most killingest game on the entire planet.

The Deathmatch puts the 32 biggest games of 2010 in the Terrordome and pits them against one another in brutal combat to the death. If you have a favorite game (and you know you do), you must visit the DeathMatch home, cheer your favorites along, and vote for the best title. Everyone who votes also enters a contest to win a PlayStation 3 and an Xbox 360.

When the dust settles and the votes are all cast, we'll know which game is the single best title on the planet. Thirty two games enter, and only one game leaves. Vote now!

Our FIFA Soccer 11 review sums up the joys of the epic sports simulator:

FIFA Soccer 11 is the gold standard for the soccer experience in gaming. It's rare that you'll find a game that's this deep, this entertaining, this customizable, and just flat out fun, to boot.”

In other words: Five Stars! We're giving away five copies, so enter the contest and cross your fingers.

It's amazingly easy to enter. Just visit our five-star game contest page, check out the rules, fill out the form, and hit  "send." We'll take care of the rest

Video Game Deathmatch Is Coming!

2010 was the year we made contact with the best games. Mass Effect 2, God of War 3, Super Mario Galaxy 2 and so many more titles dominated this year and now we're pitting them against one another.

Beginning on Monday, we'll forever settle this year's video game rivalry by taking the year's greatest video games and having them engage in brutal, bloody combat to the death. Much like the Thunderdome, many games will enter the Deathmatch, but only One. Game. Leaves. And best of all, you can take home a brand new shiny PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 for playing along.

It all begins this Monday, so I want you to sit where you are until then, constantly clicking the refresh button again and again until the legendary Deathmatch begins! Stay tuned for more this Monday, 8AM Eastern/5AM Pacific at g4tv.com/deathmatch.

SONY

We've been hearing rumors of the Sony PlayStation Portable 2 for a long time now, but this morning, the device's existence has been confirmed by Electronic Arts senior vice president Patrick Soderlund.

In an interview with Computer and Videogames, Soderlund was asked if he had "had any exposure at all to the PSP2." He replied:

"Well, obviously as a developer we have had that - but I'm not allowed to talk about it."

God of War: Ghost of Sparta Redemption Trailer »

Let's face it...Ever since the final moments of God of War III, we've all been waiting to pick up the chains and wail on some mythological monsters in God of War: Ghost of SpartaThat moment has almost arrived, and to tide over your ridiculous bloodlust, we've got the latest trailer for the long-awaited PSP actioner. Watch, enjoy and seek your redemption.

PSP 2

Rumor of the Day: A brand new PlayStation Portable is coming out next fall, and will feature a back-of-the-screen touchpad control system, dual analog sticks and a larger, higher definition screen than the current iteration of the system.

We've been posting rumors about the PSP 2 for a long, long time now, we even previously brought you the rumor that the device would feature a back-of-the-screen touchpad.

The rumors, though, are getting very, very specific.

Sony PlayStation Portable PSP go

If you've been waiting to purchase a PSP Go because the price is too steep, your day has come -- Sony has dropped the price of its handheld from $249 to $199. That's a $50 price drop for the system, and essentially puts it in the same price category as Nintendo's DS system. The PSP Go now costs just $30 more than Nintendo's DSi XL, $50 more than the DSi, and $70 more than the DSi Lite.

It makes sense that Sony is dropping the PSP Go price. It's right before the holiday season, and the company has no new handheld coming out in the next few months (although rumors abound about a "PSP 2" coming out next year), so they're trying to spur some sales on the system.

But I have to ask: Are you guys, the gamers, going to pick up a Go, now that the price is lower?
