Morning Hangover #71 -- Andrew Looks For Feedback, Patrick Has TV Envy

We’re baaaaaack! Yep. Gamescom 2010 is in the books, and the G4 crew that were in the field, myself included, have wandered on back to our (sadly) sausage-less cubicles. Anyway, speaking of getting back to the old grind, Feedback is filming today, and, as always, we want to know what’s on your minds at this particularly point in your gaming lives. Adam Sessler, Abbie Heppe, Kevin Kelly, and myself will be sitting down in a little while to discuss the past week’s hottest news, including a highlight reel of sorts about Gamescom, the upcoming Left 4 Dead DLC, RealtimeWorlds’ firing/hiring drama, and more.

But if there’s something special you’d like us to discuss, or you just want to know what Kevin really thinks about spaetzle, then post your questions in the comments section below. Danke!

You know, in the year that's passed since I was last on Feedback, a lot has changed. It's better looking, more professional, and the studio smells a whole heck of a lot better than ever before. You know what hasn't changed? Sitting and talking gaming with some of the best in the business is still a damn good time. This week, your humble narrator joined Adam "The Hammer" Sessler, Abbie "The Jackhammer" Heppe, and Dana "Hammertoe" Vinson for a discussion about Madden NFL 11, as well as a look back at the stifling heat of QuakeCon 2010.

Feedback Will be Posted TomorrowDearest Feedback Nerds,

Feedback will go up tomorrow, hopefully by 3PM ET.  We are very sorry for the delay. Please know that I've personally pummelled the responsible parties to within an inch of their lives for this horrible transgression. I can assure you that The Feedback Audio Oompa Loompas will not make this mistake again.

In all seriousness we appreciate your continued support and understanding. We're constantly striving to make Feedback more awesomer, and occasionally said striving leads to technical issues... which we have since sorted out.

In the meantime, please enjoy all of the epic Gamescom content the Germany away team is sending back.  There will be a ton more trailers, previews, exclusive interviews and schnitzel this week and next.  And if they don't come back with photos of Jake Gaskill in lederhosen, someone will be getting fired.

Morning Hangover #71 -- Andrew Looks For Feedback, Patrick Has TV Envy

While half of our crew (myself included) is presently winging towards Germany to bring you a slew of news from Gamescom, Adam Sessler, Abbie Heppe, Dana Vinson, and Mike D'Alonzo will be bringing you news, Madden talk, and of course ... your question of the week! Got an issue that's been burning a hole in your brain? Need an obscure question answered? Wondering when Kingdom Hearts 3* is coming out? Fire away in the comments below and let us know what you need to know from the Feedback crew.

*warning, we actually have no idea about Kingdom Hearts 3 will be out. Just an FYI. Now, carry on!

Feedback finally reaches your eyes and ears, which we hope are getting a much needed break due to the lack of ginormous titles being released. Well, until this week when Madden NFL 11 came out, breaking a two week streak of downloadable-only new titles. But you probably didn't even notice because you're too busy playing StarCraft II. This week, Adam Sessler, Abbie Heppe, Morgan Webb, and myself bring you a plate full of gaming news, and address your burning issues. But not that burning sensation you've been feeling. See a doctor for that.

Morning Hangover #71 -- Andrew Looks For Feedback, Patrick Has TV Envy

Great effort will be required to tear yourself away from StarCraft II this week in order to watch Feedback, but we're counting on you. We need you to chime in below and let us know what to talk about this week. We're in the relatively calm eye of the storm before the pre-monsoon of QuakeCon leads into Germany's gamescom, and then straight into PAX, Tokyo, and beyond. Of course, then there there are all the massive games which are poised to come sailing down the holiday slide in just a few weeks. So avoid that Zerg rush, and let us know what you want to hear on this week's Feedback.

Luckily for you, I am not a StarCraft fan. Nothing against the millions of people who play it religiously, or the supremely talented folks at Blizzard; it’s simply a matter of taste. The reason I bring this up is because it means that instead of worrying about the fate of Raynor’s Raiders, I’m free to post this week’s Feedback…which just so happens to be our big StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty episode. This week, Adam, Morgan, Abbie, Matt, and X-Play producer/StarCraft guru Brian Trinidad chat about the year’s biggest PC release (so far), as well as the rest of the week’s biggest game news.

UPDATE: We're currently working to improve the sync between the video and audio within this episode. Instead of pulling the current video, we're leaving it up until it can be replaced, so you can still enjoy the banter.

If you're able to tear your eyes and ears away from StarCraft II for a little while, you can feast them on this week's Feedback. In our "We Survived Comic-Con!" Edition, we wrap up the Comic-Con news with some highlights, and talk about what's ahead. Check out this week's biggest game news, reviews and more with host Adam Sessler, Matt Keil, Rob Manuel, Jake Gaskill and ... myself, Kevin Kelly.

Feedback -- Post Comic-Con Edition »

While I harvest vespene gas with one hand, let me tell you what we talked about on this week's Feedback with the other:

  • We wrapped up all the Comic-Con news that was fit to print, and talk about some of the highlights. New Halo: Reach features?! The new Cole look in inFamous 2 gets jettisoned?? There are over 100,000 sweaty people at the Con?!
  • Limbo and Deathspank both managed to impress us. A lot. We talk about why you'll want to play them.
  • It might take all of the superpowers in the world to define what actually makes a hardcore gamer, but we take a crack at it. What do you think make a gamer hardcore? You could play Farmville for eight hours a day, but does that make you hardcore? Maybe it depends on your definition.

Feedback: A lot more fun than a pen in the eye.

We've survived Comic-Con, and now it's back to the daily grind. And by daily grind, I mean skipping work to play StarCraft II. Er, I mean "do research." So help us with a little research right here, and let us know what you want answered on this edition of Feedback. Sound off in the comments below with your burning queries, and watch the show tomorrow to see if we picked your question.

By this time tomorrow, you’re going to be up to your elven cosplay ears in G4’s Comic-Con 2010 coverage, and while I would say I’m sorry, there isn’t really anything to be sorry about, since it just means you’ll have offensive amounts of Comic-Con info to consume at your leisure without the need to brave the interesting smelling crowds of the convention yourself. That’s our job, and we cherish it. But seeing as Comic-Con proper doesn’t kick off until tomorrow, we’ve decided to put together a very special pre-Comic-Con Feedback for you this week featuring the countess of comics herself Blair Butler chatting about all of the week’s biggest game news, and, of course, the big CC, with host Adam Sessler, Abbie Heppe, Matt Keil, and, for the first time, G4tv.com’s features editor Kevin Kelly.

Feedback -- Comic-Con 2010 Edition »

Hulk might prefer to smash, but here on Feedback, we prefer to discuss...and then smash:

  • Microsoft announced this week that Kinect will retail for $150, and will come bundled with Kinect Adventures. They also revealed a new 4GB Xbox 360 console, and Kinect bundle.
  • Connecticut has joined 11 other states in support of legislation proposed by California to restrict sales of violent games to children. Needless to say, this whole situation disturbs us quite a bit.
  • And speaking of things that disturb us, there continues to be chatter about Activision considering the idea of introducing a subscription model to future Call of Duty games. Despite what Treyarch says, the decision is ultimately Activision's, and that's definitely cause for concern.

Feedback: All of the heroic potential of the Fantastic Four, only we're sometimes more than four, and quite a bit less fantastic.

Morning Hangover #71 -- Andrew Looks For Feedback, Patrick Has TV Envy

Feedback will be taking a turn for the weird and wonderful world of comic books this week as we all prepare to head down to Comic-Con in San Diego for a week full of pop culture injections. That also means that our "Game of the Week" will be ... Comic-Con! Besides all of the big movie and gaming news (which we'll be covering), a slew of game publishers will be on-hand showing off their latest and greatest.

So what do you want to hear about? Got a question about Capcom burning a hole in your pocket? Let us know. Eager to find out about Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, hit us up. Wondering where the best bathrooms at the Convention Center are? We've got you covered. Blast away with your questions in the comments below!

In keeping with the spirit of this week’s episode of Feedback, you should know that this is actually the second Feed post I’m writing for it. Yeah. I totally wrote one earlier, and then, clickity-click, delete. One could say that was a huge waste of time on my part, but if we can handle redoing an entire Feedback, then, damnit, we can handle redoing a post about redoing Feedback. Am I right? Anyway, on this episode, guest host Patrick Klepek and the fearsome foursome of Morgan Webb, Abbie Heppe, Matt Keil, and Sterling McGarvey do their best to pretend that they’re listening to each other discuss this week's topics when in fact they are secretly thinking about where those last remaining orbs in Crackdown 2 are. Damn orbs.

Feedback -- EVO 2010 & Crackdown 2 Edition »

Listen up, agent. Here are the rest of this week's discussion topics:

  • The EVO 2010 championships wrapped up this past weekend in Las Vegas, and it was quite a show, despite what a shockingly large number of misguided and juvenile commenters had to say about it during the live streams of the various matches.
  • Double Fine’s Tim Schafer made some rather pointed (and not entirely off the mark) comments about Activision head Bobby Kotick this week. Here’s a tip: it might have had something to with Activision giving Double Fine the shaft over Brutal Legend.
  • Blizzard narrowly avoided sparking a nerd-mageddon by cancelling plans to force World of Warcraft players to reveal their true identities.

Feedback: Because sometimes, humanity must take a hard look at itself and decide that life—ORB!...What was I saying?

Morning Hangover #71 -- Andrew Looks For Feedback, Patrick Has TV Envy

Sorry, folks. A technical hiccup (I know, we've been experiencing our fair share lately) has delayed Feedback until tomorrow morning. It's the reason I joked about shooting the show a second time -- we actually had to do that! You can look forward to a full five-man crew of Abbie Heppe, Matt Keil, Sterling McGarvey, myself and the lovely Morgan Webb tomorrow, though! Thanks for being patient!

Morning Hangover #71 -- Andrew Looks For Feedback, Patrick Has TV Envy

Suffering...from...orb...addiction. Something tells me at least a few of you are, too. The Feedback crew will talk about their withdrawl symptomps from Crackdown 2 this week, but we also need some help from you guys. Comic-Con is coming up (where X-Play will even have a panel!) and the rest of the year's events -- PAX, Tokyo Game Show -- aren't far off, either. What should we talk about?
