Be Feedback's Question Of The Week!

Get on your best question asking hats, Feedback lovers. It’s time for you to explode our minds with your incendiary and insightful inquiries. But before you do, you should know that there’s a bit of a catch this week as we are asking specifically for questions relating to X-Play’s Game of the Year nominees list.

If you haven’t had a chance to look it over, do so now, and then come back here to submit your questions about the Game of the Year nominations. Ask us anything you want, as long as it's related to that list, and we'll have our ears to the ground. Then check back next week to see if your question made the cut, and be sure to tune into X-Play’s big “Best of” show on December 14 at 6PM to see which games take home this year’s top honors.

You there! Little orc! What day is this? Well, it’s Feedback day, sir! Why, that it is! Take this nickel and go down to the G4 store and pick me out the World of Warcraft-iest Feedback in the window! And ... scene. Please, no standing ovation necessary. Sit. Sit. So as you probably know by now, this week’s episode of your favorite weekly web show devoted to all things gaming is a particularly special one. Not only did our own Adam Sessler, Morgan Webb, and Leah Jackson get together to talk about the hotly anticipated release of World of Warcraft: Cataclysm (and some of the week’s other big news), but they were also joined by two very special guests: Blizzard lead designers Alex Afrasiabi and Tom Chilton. Because if you’re going to talk WoW, you might as well go to the source. Or, have the source come to you.

Feedbackers, we have a very special treat for you next week. Tom Chilton, Lead Designer and Alex Afrasiabi, Lead World Designer, from Blizzard's World of Warcraft will be on the show to talk about all things Cataclysm. We know you probably have burning (crusade) question that you would lich (king) us to answer on the show, right? So hit us up with everything you want to know about the expansion to Blizzard's gargantuan MMORPGFPSWTFLOLBBQ, and we'll get the answer straight from the Mechanostrider's mouth.

Disney Epic Mickey paints and thins his way onto this episode of Feedback, so watch and find out if he melted our hearts, or painted them over with a thin veneer of yellow dye #5. One thing is for certain: we really wish that Mickey had the legs to jump onto the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 as well, because this story needs to branch out beyond just the Wii. We also have a couple of issues with the game, so find out what they are inside.

It's also nearly one week since American gorged itself on turkey and sugar-based foodstuffs. By now, all of that tryptophan should have worked its way out of your system, and any residual sleepiness you've been feeling needs you need a dose of something stronger. Normally we'd suggest a quick smack in the face, but we just happen to have a fresh prescription of Feedback for you, all ready to watch.

Tune in, tune out, and put your world on pause for awhile.

Morning Hangover #71 -- Andrew Looks For Feedback, Patrick Has TV Envy

By now, all of the sleep-inducing turkey should have worked its way out of your system, unless you've been living on a steady diet of leftovers. In which case, you need to snap out of it. Pronto. If we don't get your full attention this morning, we'll doom you to watching the Yogi Bear movie for all eternity. Seriously, how does stuff like that get greenlit? It boggles the mind.

You know what else can be mind-boggling? Video games. But that's where we come in to help. While we might not be able to explain movies based on cartoons that kids these days won't even know about, we're definitely schooled in the arena of pixelated entertainment. Let us know what you need to know, and we'll do our best to come up with a reasonable answer. Or at least one that sounds like it might be reasonable. It might not hold up in a court of law, but it'll allow you to win petty arguments with your friends.

Also, let us mourn the passing of the great Leslie Nielsen. The man was a legend in deadpan delivery, and while you might have seen The Naked Gun, chances are that you never saw the TV series it was based on. So check out Police Squad! as soon as you can. Now make with the questioning.

Whether you're celebrating Kwanzaa, Christmas or the Winter Solstice, the holidays are nigh upon us, and that means one thing: Trudging out to some crappy mall and trying to figure out what some ungrateful d-bag would want you to give 'em. Before you give up and head to the dollar store, watch this week's Feedback, where you can take advantage of the exquisite tastes of G4's Adam Sessler, Abbie Heppe, Nikole Zivalich and me, Stephen Johnson. We'll tell you what to buy whether you're shopping for a PS3 owner, a 360 owner, a Wii owner, or any other fellow games lover.

We're also jawing over the top video game news stories of the week, including:

  • The ban on swastikas in Call of Duty: Black Ops' multiplayer.
  • The mixed messages Kinect hackers are getting from Microsoft.
  • The incredibly poor sales of Tony Hawk: Shred.
  • The release-delay of Portal 2.
  • The apparent closing of developer Bizarre Creations.
  • The changes that have come from the Black Ops title update.

Morning Hangover #71 -- Andrew Looks For Feedback, Patrick Has TV Envy

Hopefully this week you'll be thinking about the many things you are thankful for, and I hope Feedback is one of them. But I'll tell you what we're all very thankful for, and that's all of you Feedback watchers and listeners. We make this show for you guys and girls, we're proud of our audience. Yes, that's you. Don your finest cloak, secure your hidden blades, and make sure your boots are on tight, because the newest edition of Feedback is here. This week, host Adam Sessler is joined by Abbie Heppe, Matt Keil, and yours truly to discuss all of the week’s biggest stories, including the impressive sales figures for Call of Duty: Black Ops and Microsoft’s Kinect, and the now triple official release date of Gran Turismo 5, as well as the game of the week, the thoroughly enjoyable Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood.

Feedback -- Assassin's Creed Brotherhood Multiplayer Mayhem »

Assuming no one’s pounced on you from above just yet, here’s a guide for this week’s discussion:
  • To no one’s surprise, COD: Black Ops sold a ton, around $360 million on day one to be exact. But as we all know, true success is measured by how many communist dictators you offend, and even on this scale, Black Ops is a big hit.
  • Kinect has proven to be a big hit, with an estimated 1.3 million units sold worldwide and 2.5 million titles sold in the U.S., including the Kinect Adventures bundle.
  • Microsoft promises that hardcore Kinect games are on the docket for 2011. Here are my suggestions: Gestures of War, Flailo 4, and Jog of Duty.
  • Is Kinect monitoring your every move and transmitting your activities to advertisers and government agencies? Of course it isn’t. It’s not a microwave after all.
  • Yes. Gran Turismo 5 is being released next week. I know. “Ha ha! Good one Jake!” No really! It’s happening!
  • Even though Ubisoft has said it is giving Assasssin’s Creed a break in 2011, it’s planning something AC related for 2011. There’s already a comic book, animated series, and live action short. I’m not expecting a new game, so what could it be?

Feedback: Silently stalking you throughout history for being a dirty, dirty Templar agent since 2009.

If you're not playing Call of Duty: Black Ops right now, then you're either taking a break, or you just happened to stumble across this post while surfing for some sort of bizarre Japanese pornography. In either case, we're glad you're here because it means you're about to dive headlong into the newest episode of Feedback, where we strive to bring intelligent conversation about video games directly to you each week. Or, barring that, at least there's conversation.

It should come as no surprise that this week brings us a debriefing on Black Ops, as we delve deep into the gameplay and talk about the single player, the multiplayer, the secrets, and the fact that Kinect + Black Ops = a spy's dream tool. Oh, and look out for spoilers. Yes, there be some spoilers ahead. If you love monkeys to the extreme, and have Dunston Checks In on your DVD shelf, then you might want to skip this episode. Otherwise, load up and head on in. We need you to check the south entrance for zombies.

Be Feedback's Question Of The Week!

It's Monday! Or as this day will forever be known, "The Day Before Call of Duty: Black Ops" came out. The rest of the days in this week will just become a haze as you attempt to finish the game and then level up in multiplayer faster than should be humanly possible. Just be aware that you'll need to carve out some time to watch Feedback later this week for your edification.

You'll especially want to watch it because we might be using your Question this week. Got a burning issue that needs answering? We're here to help. Especially because we can only help with burning questions. Not burning sensations. If you have any of those, go see your doctor ASAP. But for gaming needs, we can definitely handle those. So hit us up in the comments below and let us know what you want to know. Y'know?

First of all, thanks for waiting patiently. We know you like Feedback as early as we can get it to you, but this was one of those rare instances where our hands were tied by outside forces. Namely, the all-seeing, all-knowing, Hal-esque eye of Kinect. But now that it's midnight on the East Coast, LET FEEDBACK RING!

Also, we did some nifty stuff with this episode, like finally figuring out how the ginormous control board can route an outside call right into our ears (and yours), so we were able to have Adam call in from the steps of the Supreme Court in Washington D.C. after the violent video game hearings. Pretty cool stuff. We promise to only use this technology for (mostly) good.

Morning Hangover #71 -- Andrew Looks For Feedback, Patrick Has TV Envy

Attention Feedbackers! Today's episode of Feedback will be up at 9 PM Pacific Time tonight. No, not because of any technical glitches, and not because Adam has decided to take over Washington in a coup after declaring himself Emperor of the United States. Instead, tonight's Feedback is at a special time because that just happens to be when the embargo on Kinect lifts, and Kinect just happens to be our game of the week!

We've all been putting Microsoft's motion controller through its paces in Kinect Adventures, Kinect Joy Ride, Kinect Sports, Dance Central (you should see Stephen Johnson break it down), Sonic Free Riders and yes, even Kinectimals. Although we have no idea what happened to Skittles. Please don't ask us about him. It's just too painful. But if you want to know how the rest of Kinect is, tune in tonight.

Be Feedback's Question Of The Week!

With the exception of Stephen “I Like Mondays” Johnson, no one likes Mondays. However, the one shining beacon to be found in the imposing darkness of the week’s beginning has arrived: our open call for questions for this week’s Feedback!

This week, our panel will tackle two monumental topics: the launch of Microsoft Kinect and tomorrow’s violent video games Supreme Court case. A whole mess of games came out this week too, so feel free to draw inspiration from those as well. What I’m saying is, there is no shortage of topics to choose from, especially if you want to include Stephen Johnson jokes, which I know you do.

Just when you thought it wouldn't show up, guess what? WEST NILE VIRUS! Oh, snap. Wait. I mean Feedback. That's right, your long wait is over, and there's finally a new episode of Feedback waiting here for you. Patiently. I mean, it's not like you're reading this text here anyhow, right? You've moved way past this and clicked gleefully on the "Play" button. I could be talking about something incredibly magical, or telling you where you could find photos of Sofia Vergara's boobs, and you would completely miss it. So, I'll just wrap this up right here and let you commence with the watching.

Feedback goes on the road! We took the short trip down to Anaheim for BlizzCon 2010, and The MMO Report host Casey Schreiner joined our resident Warcraft expert Leah Jackson, previews editor Chris Monfette, and myself for some reflections on Cataclysm, Diablo 3, and StarCraft 2, and of course, BlizzCon itself. We'll still have a full episode of Feedback later this week as usual, but it was fun packing our lunches and heading off-campus for a change.

Feedback Field Trip -- BlizzCon 2010 Edition »

As you can see, Chris definitely doesn't give a #$@! about Blizzard. That's why we're putting in an expense request for a Clockwork Orange-style device that holds his eyes open and forces him to get some WarCraftiablo on. Check back on Wednesday for our regular-sized edition of Feedback, where we'll be talking in threes with Rock Band 3 and Fable 3 and more BlizzCon news.
