Marvel Vs. Capcom 2

Marvel vs. Capcom 2 knocks Battlefield 1943 out of the top spot on this week's list of top 10 Xbox Live Arcade purchases (data, of course, from Mr. Major Nelson). A fighting game that basically anyone can pick up and find enjoyment in, even if you're not tourney-tested, MvC2's got huge appeal. But I'm willing to bet Battlefield's got the longer legs.

Top 10 Arcade Titles (Full Versions Purchased)

  1. Marvel vs. Capcom 2
  2. Battlefield 1943
  3. 'Splosion Man
  4. Castle Crashers
  5. The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition
  6. Worms 2: Armageddon
  7. Magic: The Gathering -- Duels of the Planeswalkers
  8. UNO
  9. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1989 Classic Arcade
  10. Hasbro Family Game Night

Where do you think Turtles in Time: Re-Shelled is going to debut on next week's chart? Also, what's your preferred MvC2 team?

Wii Sports Resort reigns supreme in this week's ChartTrack update, to the complete shock of absolutely no one. (Not even myself.) I'm going to go ahead and predict that Wii Sports Resort and Wii Fit Plus will keep Nintendo's system selling at a healthy clip this holiday season. A bold prediction, yes, but that's why they pay me the big bucks let me take a 45 30 minute lunch.

Top 10 Entertainment Software, Week Ending 8/1/09

  1. Wii Sports Resort
  2. Wii Fit
  3. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10
  4. Harry Potter & The Half-Blood Prince
  5. Fight Night Round 4
  6. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
  7. The Sims 3
  8. UFC 2009: Undisputed
  9. EA Sports Active
  10. Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood

Now the guessing game: how many weeks will WSR stay atop the charts? Closest guess to the final number will receive no prize.
