Morning Hangover

Preview: American McGee's Alice: Madness Returns

E3 2011 is over but there's no time to dwell on the past. This morning we have to look ahead at some of this week's new releases, including the, dare I say it, release of Duke Nukem Forever. Duke Nukem Forever has been in development since 1997 and I've got to admit that I was never a big fan of the original. But, I understand the pain that you guys went through waiting to see its release, as I'm currently going through that with Diablo 3 and to a lesser extent The Last Guardian. That said, I'm sure Duke will be great but this week I've got my eyes on another game that I've been waiting almost 10 years for: Alice: Madness Returns. Everything about this game intrigues and amazes me, and I just and can't wait to get my hands on it. What about you? Are you picking up any new games this week? Many people thought the release day of these games would never come, how do you feel about these titles finally hitting store shelves this week?

Wii U: Nintendo's New Console;

Day two of E3 2011 is in the books folks. We saw even more amazing games yesterday than we did during the Day 1 Press Conferences, including Ninja Gaiden 3 and the Devil May Cry reboot DMC. Nintendo also introduced their new console, the Wii U. It's not everyday that we see a new console spring up, and this year we got both the PlayStation Vita and the Wii U. What do you think of E3 2011 so far? Is it living up to your expectations?

E3 For Complete Noobs: Your Guide To All Things E3 2011

The first day of E3 2011 is done. We saw some of Sony, Microsoft, EA, and Ubisoft's offerings and some of them were very impressive. What did you think of the first day of E3 2011? Were you surprised, impressed, angered, or any other emotion at the things you saw? I was very sad to not see any The Last Guardian news, but hopefully Tokyo Game Show will fix that. Today will bring us Nintendo's press conference at 9 AM PT where we'll surely see the new Nintendo console. Are you excited? Our E3 2011 coverage rolls on and you won't want to miss it!

E3 2011 is here. There's no denying it now, thanks to the Konami pre-E3 press conference, and yes, before you say it, I realize the irony of that statement. Konami's presentation was pretty sweet: multiple Silent Hill  titles and a Metal Gear Solid HD Collection. Even the far lesser-known Jehuty and pals will be getting a Zone of the Enders HD Collection. Sidenote: Not to brag but I totally had a dog named Jehuty once upon a time. But enough about me, what about you? Did you catch the Konami pre-E3 event? Because you know, a little birdie tells me you can check it out, as well as links to all the major stories that broke on our Konami coverage page. And hey, once you're back, tell us what you think! Are you excited for the teases given or disappointed at the lack of details on some of your most anticipated titles?

Oh, and it just so happens to be my birthday today. I know better than to ask the Internet what it got me for the occasion, so instead I'll just ask: what kind of cake should I go for?

Konami GamesCom 2009 PRESSEKONFERENZ -- Zombie Blog!

Konami's E3 "press conference" is going down tonight at 5 PM PST right here on G4TV.com. It's more of a press presentation, really. What do you guys want to see announced from Konami this year? I'd love for some kind Zone of Enders announcement (hah, a girl can dream, right?). I imagine we'll see some Metal Gear Solid and Silent Hill news, but what do you want to see?

Shocking: inFamous 2 In The Works

inFAMOUS 2 is coming out next week and all I can think about is whether I'm going to be good or evil. In the game, Cole MacGrath is aiming to enhance his electrical abilities but none of that matters. Should I take the good route, where I have to worry about hurting the everyday folk, or the evil route where I can blow everything up and be awesome? Obviously you can see which way I'm leaning. What about you? When you play games do you tend to go the good or evil route? What about for inFAMOUS 2? Which karma path will you be walking?

Sidenote: Be sure to check back at 12 PM EST for our inFAMOUS 2 review!

Call of Duty Downloadable Content: A History

Sadly the long weekend is over. It was all sunshine and rainbows in Los Angeles though so I didn't get to play too many games over the weekend for once. What about you? Did you spend the long weekend with a controller in your hands, or maybe go pick up a new console, games, or even a TV during one of the many Memorial Day sales? Let me know which games you got to play this weekend, or if there are any that you're waiting to get your hands on in the coming weeks.

Battlefield 3

Amidst barbecues, the beach, and department store sales, it's important that on Memorial Day we remember our fallen soldiers that have given their lives for us. Before you go out to observe and/or celebrate the holiday, I'm curious as to which military shooter you're going to be playing when the two big threequels hit this fall. Is it going to the be the ultra-realistic Battlefield 3, or the action-packed  Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3? Let me know which you're getting and why, and save me a cold one by the pool for later, will you?

Dead Or Alive: Xtreme Beach Volleyball

Maybe I'm just a small-time spoiled farm girl who isn't used to city life, but it seems to me that I'm hemorrhaging money out here. Ten bucks for a deli sandwich, chips and a drink? Blasphemy! Twelve hundred a month for rent? Outrageous! Why, where I come from it's $7.00 on average for lunch and $450 for rent. Oh, and $12 haircuts! In the end though, I can't blame the City of Angels for the holes in my wallet; it's all the nerdy stuff I've picked up since the move: The complete collection of Harvey Birdman: Attorney At Law, cult classic comic book Hexed, supplemental rulebooks for my CthulhuTech collection, and just yesterday, Dead or Alive: Dimensions. I suppose I'm overcompensating for years stuck in a place where the closest mall (and comic shop) was 76 miles away.

But you! You're no intern! You have money, right? Right? What were some of your most recent nerdy purchases? Anything pre-ordered or in the mail?

Road to E3 2011: The Microsoft Report Card

Over the next week and a half we'll be releasing a slew of previews surrounding some of the year's most anticpated titles. Today we've got a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 preview, a Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning preview, and an End of Nations preview scheduled. We'll be previewing a ton of other games leading up to our extensive E3 coverage June 7-9, but today I'm wondering which titles you're most looking forward to seeing previews of? Let me know, and be sure to check out the ones we have going up today.

LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars

Happy Geek Pride Day, everyone! I generally refer to myself as a nerd but today I (and you if you're on this site) am a geek. Geek Pride Day has been celebrated since 2006, celebrating the premiere of the first Star Wars film in 1977. Today let's talk about why it's so awesome to be a geek and some of your fondest memories that have come from being passionate about geeky things like Star Wars or even your favorite video game console. For me? I've met some of my very best friends through MMORPGs (some who I've never even met in real life) and eSports and I'd never give those relationships up which most people find pretty geek-tastic of me. What about you? Share your thoughts and be sure to spread some geek pride today!

Also, according to ForeverGeek every geek is entitled to a few rights today as long as they uphold a few responsibilities. Check after the break to read them.

Morning Hangover: What's Your Favorite Video Game Quote?

Yesterday we premiered the first Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 gameplay trailer and amidst the action and explosions there was a pretty hard hitting quote: "It doesn't take the most powerful nations on Earth to create the next global conflict, just the will of a single man." Now, I'm not saying that the Call of Duty series is known for its great writing or anything, but quotes like this often get us riled up and excited for upcoming games. Today I want to know some of your favorite video game quotes; which ones get you excited ("It's time to kick ass and chew bubble gum...and I'm all out of gum") nostalgic, ("It's dangerous to go alone! Take this.") or even emotional ("My sweet angel, come to me. I will take you to a world of dreams.")? These are some of my favorites, let's hear some of yours.

Morning Hangover: Favorite Videogame Time Period?

Good morrow! I have to admit that I played The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings a lot this weekend and, as a fan of the whole medieval English "thing" I am so in love with it (among many other reasons). A lot of games take me back to a sort of similar period like the Assassin's Creed series, the Dragon Age series, World of Warcraft to an extent, etc. I always seem to enjoy the games in that time period. What about you? Do you like games set in the past, present, or future the most?

Witcher 2

It's finally Friday; hooray! This weekend I'm going to be pretty busy, but I just got The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings and man, I'm loving it. What an absolutely gorgeous game. If I play anything other than StarCraft 2 this weekend it will most definitely be The Witcher 2. How about you? Are you going to go through some cases in L.A. Noire? Shoot your way through a little Brink, or maybe even hack and slash your way through Witcher 2 like I'm doing? Let me know what you've got on your plate this weekend, and whatever it is, make sure to have fun!

Brink

I've been playing a lot of Brink lately and generally been favoring the soldier class. Yes I know medics are freaking amazing, but I like my soldier because he's fast, versatile, does good damage, and more importantly he never runs out of ammo. In MMORPGs I tend to favor versatile classes too, like in World of Warcraft I have a druid who can heal, tank, and do damage as well as a paladin with the same skill sets. It's in my nature to strive be the best at all aspects of gameplay I guess, but today I'm wondering what type of class do you like to play in videogames? Are you a burly tank, a timid, yet invaluable healer, or a strong damage dealer? Perhaps you like to play a mixture of the three? Let me know!
