Comic-Con '09

One of the highlights from Comic-Con 09 would be the release of the Tron Legacy trailer, starring Jeff Bridges, Garrett Hedlund, Bruce Boxleitner, Karl Urban and Olivia Wilde. Not much else needs to be said, except that you'll have to wait until 2010 to catch this in theaters.

Comic-Con 09 Live Blog: Focus Features Spotlights 9

If you didn’t get enough Tim Burton-y wonderment during Disney’s Comic-Con 09 panel, then you’ll definitely want to check out Focus Features’s 9 panel, being live blogged by G4tv.com’s Dana Vinson. If you aren’t familiar with 9, that’s really a shame, but  to bring you up to speed, here’s what you can expect from the panel:

"The action-packed adventure—opening nationwide 9/9/09—takes place after our world fell to pieces, when a group of 'stitchpunk' creations must summon individual strengths well beyond their own proportions. While showcasing a stunning steampunk-styled visual brilliance, 9 dynamically explores the will to live, the power of community, and how one soul can change the world. Join Shane Acker, Tim Burton, Timur Bekmambetov, and actors Elijah Wood and Jennifer Connelly LIVE for this panel presentation!"

That sounds like one solid panel to me, so if you want to follow the stylistic madness that's sure to emerge during the discussion, be sure to check out G4tv.com’s Focus Features: 9 live blog.

Fresh Ink Online With Murs »

Anyone familiar with hip hop’s Murs knows he loves comic books. He raps about ‘em, he chats about ‘em, and he freestyles about ‘em (just check his Freestyle 101). Now he gets a chance to review ‘em as he fills in for his favorite host, the great Blair Butler, on Fresh Ink Online as she darts down to San Diego for Comic-Con. In fact, by the time you read this, Murs will have joined her at the famed comic book convention, but not before chatting about some of his favorite comics, including X-Factor, Queen and Country, DMZ, Black Lightning, Scott Pilgrim, Wolverine: Old Man Logan, Guardians of the Galaxy, Nova and Red Robin.

Plus, make sure to listen carefully for Murs’ controversial stand on one of the top writers in comics today. Is there a rap-comic beef a-brewin’? Will caps get peeled? Likely not, but it sure is fun to imagine such a thing, ain’t it?

Yes, you’ll soon see this crazy-haired rapper knows his stuff and you can quiz him on his comic book knowledge on this summer’s Rock The Bells tour, where he’ll be serving as an MC…and likely serving some MCs with his deadly rhyme skills.

Check out Murs at www.mursmusic.com and get Rock The Bells tour dates at www.rockthebells.com.

Get ever fresher with Fresh Ink Online on Twitter, Facebook and MySpace.

Check out Murs on Freestyle 101 after the jump…

In this universe, goblins don't just do gobliny things. They play football. Based on Warhammer, Blood Bowl allows players to form teams of magical creatures to play a bloody game of good old American football.

Check out the Blood Bowl trailer featuring champion goblins below. The game comes out on September 2009.

Write anything. Solve everything. If only Scribblenauts could work on my real life problems, but until I tackle those, I can focus on writing my own fun adventure in this highly anticipated game for the Nintendo DS.

Scribblenauts comes out in September 09 and you can check out the gameplay in the trailer below.

Comic-Con is fully on here at the G4 offices, and while we have a monster team tearing through the San Diego Convention Center and milking every ounce of coverage from the show, it’s a different kind of crazy back here. It’s mainly a ghost town since a good chunk of the team is away. Need a stapler? (I always wanted a red stapler.) Want that awesome Kubrick that’s in the cubical a few down from yours? (Totally mine now.) Been eyeing up a co-workers mouse? (It’s gone.) Don’t feel like walking all the way down the hall to go to the bathroom? (Thanks Sterling!) Being on the home team sometimes has its advantages.

Letter From The Director: Home Team

But in all seriousness, while there’s a lot going down at Comic-Con in coverage gathering, it takes quite a bit behind the scenes to make sure the content coming from the show gets up on the site, or in one of our shows. And to be honest, for 95% of the major events that have happened in my last 14 years covering video games I’ve personally been on the road team at a show, so I’ve never seen what actually happens back on a home team. And it’s f$%&ing crazy.

Epic Left 4 Dead Costume Is Really Epic

This is, by far, the coolest costume I've seen at Comic-Con so far. Valve, be proud.

Bring the dark world of serial killer Dexter to your iPhone or iTouch as he travels around Miami to hunt down those who have escaped the justice system. The trailer for Dexter: The Game, based on the popular Showtime series, is below from Comic-Con 09.

During the Warner Bros. Comic-Con 09 panel, Gary Oldman served up a juicy tidbit of information regarding the next Batman movie. According to the actor, filming begins in 2010 and the movie will be finished within two years.

I'm sure many of you are super psyched for the next Batman movie. Any villains you want to see in the movie? How about a quick cameo by another hero?

You probably squealed in high pitched excitement at the news yesterday, so we're excited to bring you the official debut trailer for Halo Legends, which Microsoft's 343 Industries announced to be a compilation of seven anime shorts set in the Halo universe.

Gran Turismo PSP

At Comic-Con 2009, G4tv.com's Patrick Klepek got his hands on the latest version of Gran Turismo for the PSP. There's not a whole lot of new information, but he got what might be a hint of more features to be revealed later. Here's an excerpt:

"There are hints there's much more to Gran Turismo on PSP than meets the eye, too. So far, Sony has only acknowledged the game will include local multiplayer, but a knowing nod and a wink from our friendly Sony representative suggested there's more to come on that front. Dare I hope for Internet multiplayer?"

Comic-Con 09 Live Blog: Warner Bros.

We are in it deep now folks. Day two of Comic-Con 09 is upon us, and the insanity shows no signs of stopping.

Kicking things off today on the live blog side is G4tv.com's Dana Vinson with coverage of the Warner Bros. panel. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince might have earned WB enough of the magical green stuff to ensure WB probably doesn’t need to put out another movie for a while, but it turns out the company has a few more exciting projects coming down the line, including Spike Jonze’s Where the Wild Things Are, the remake of Wes Craven’s classic Nightmare on Elm Street, Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes, the adaptation of DC Comic’s Jonah Hex, and others.

There are some pretty cool people involved with all of those projects, so be sure to check our Warner Bros. live blog to see who makes an appearance, and to find out everything you want to know about these upcoming films.

More multiplayer, I say! Sometimes playing videogames can get lonely. So excitement set in when Gearbox's new trailer for Borderlands arrived, featuring a four characters you and your friends can play on the planet Pandora. The mission? Unlock the secret vault on the wasteland planet that holds the key to lost alien technology that could potentially save the world. Or something like that.

And there are BILLIONS OF GUNS for you to shoot!

Enjoy the Borderlands trailer below. This "role playing shooter" is set to be released in October, 2009.
