Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 2 Preview »

Ready for more Star Wars: The Clone Wars action? Well here's a teaser for season two of this lauded animated series. There's this mysterious partially-robotic bounty-hunter that confounds me, simply because it's a robot with a hat. Why the hell does a robot need a hat? That vexing question aside, there's all kinds of awesome jedi action in the trailer as Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Ahsoka show off their mad lightsaber skills. Scenes showing a possible love interest for Obi-Wan and Anakin edging closer to the dark side are also in this season two preview.

Check it out! And after you're done, let me know what you think of the video. Does it make you want to watch The Clone Wars? Or are you "meh" about the series?

Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny Screenshot

Sometimes guest characters in fighting games are really cool (Link, Vader), sometimes they aren't (Necrid, Yoda). God of War superstar Kratos is making an appearance in the upcoming Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny...is he good or bad? Mr. Klepek says:

"Based on a few rounds with a playable Kratos at Comic-Con, it does. There's not much about Kratos that doesn't already seem to drop right in to the Soulcalibur universe (Voldo and Yoshimitsu have set the weirdo bar pretty high) and while Kratos looks a little angrier than everyone else, he's otherwise a natural fit."

LEGO Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues Screenshot

Patrick likes toys, one just needs to look at his work area for proof. He also likes games based on toys, much like Traveller's Tales LEGO series. At Comic-Con, he got a chance to play the second LEGO installment of Indiana Jones, and it's sounding like the showing disappointed:

"Unfortunately, the Comic-Con demo did little to provide answers to my other questions about the game. There's honestly no way to tell if Traveller's Tales has been able to mine the Indiana Jones series for more appropriate setups in the second outing because the Comic-Con demo only provided a brief taste of what's in store."

Comic-Con 09 Live Blog: Sony Pictures -- Zombieland And 2012

Sony Pictures is featuring two of its upcoming movies in a single Comic-Con 09 panel: Zombieland and 2012. While the talent on stage is impressive, I'm psyched that the super-sexy Emma Stone will be there. Yum. Here's the official description:

Zombieland -- What if the Zombies won? Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg) has made a habit of running from what scares him. Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson) doesn't have fears. If he did, he'd kick their ever-living ass. In a world overrun by zombies, these two are perfectly evolved survivors. But now, they're about to stare down the most terrifying prospect of all: each other. Also starring Emma Stone and Abigal Breslin as two sisters who seem to constantly cause even more trouble for our erstwhile heroes. Appearing on stage: Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, and director Ruben Fleischer.

2012 -- Director Roland Emmerich has tried to destroy civilization before, but nothing you've seen will prepare you for what he has in store for the world in 2012. Never before has a date in history been so significant to so many cultures, so many religions, scientists, and governments. 2012 is an epic adventure about a global cataclysm that brings an end to the world and tells of the heroic struggle of the survivors. Roland will be onstage to reassure us it's all make-believe...we hope.

I'm hoping TheFeed's Stephen Johnson gets some nice upskirt shots of Emma Stone for me, as he writes about the session. Click here for G4tv.com's live blog on the Comic-Con 09 Sony Pictures: Zombieland and 2012 panel.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Ultimate Sith Edition Trailer »

Star Wars fans (and I'm talking about fans of the real Star Wars movies) will totally mark out at the this trailer for The Force Unleashed: UltimateSith Edition. If appearances by Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Luke Skywalker aren't enough to raise your midichlorian levels, then how about dispatching some Gammoreans and Rancors?!? It's an awesome trailer that asks, "What if the dark side won?"

The force was certainly strong with G4's Comic-Con 2009 Star Wars Spectacular. Yet, it would not - nay, could not - have been complete without an appearance from the bearded one himself, Mr. George Lucas. Just in case you didn't get a chance to catch the show, here's a little Lucas love for ya.

Star Wars Spectacular Panel with George Lucas »

To find out all of the latest Comic-Con 09 action, be sure to stay tuned to G4 and G4tv.com all weekend.

It’s no Star Wars: On Ice, but LucasArts is taking Star Wars on tour this year in America with Star Wars: In Concert. Not only will attendees get a feast for the ears and eyes, but there’s also a  museum display with a heap of real props and items used in the making of all the Star Wars movies. Honestly, who the hell doesn’t want to see this show?

Star Wars in Concert »

Star Wars: In Concert will kick off in America this Fall, and currently there are approximately 40 shows planned. Presale tickets go on sale Monday, July 27th for select California dates, and while prices vary, expect to drop between $40 - $125 to experience this Star Wars nerdgasm.

I am totally going to at least one show, how about you?

Even though I’m crabby that I’m getting older, I can say that I’m proud to be old enough have seen the original Star Wars movie in the theater with my Dad. My sister opted to go see Pete’s Dragon with my Mom, instead. Sucker. To this day I think she’s still bruised from me hitting her with a wiffle ball bat while making light saber sounds. I mean, who didn’t do that? Fine, I was a jerk of a brother. Oh well.

Everyone has an awesome Star Wars story, and there's a neat little thing being put together called The Star Wars Stories Project, and in this clip watch stories from Dennis Muren (Senior Visual Effects Supervisor), Sam Witwer (Secret Apprentice, The Force Unleashed), John Knoll (Visual Effects Supervisor), Seth Green (Robot Chicken), and Joe Lynch (uber G4 mack daddy pimpasaurus rex).

Star Wars Stories Project »

While show-goers at Comic-Con can record their submission in the LucasArts pavilion, you can upload your own video online that could be added to the LucasArts historical Star Wars archive. Otherwise known as super awesome.

Dante's Inferno Twitter Contest Controversy Heats Up

One of the year’s hottest upcoming titles is undoubtedly EA’s hellish action game Dante’s Inferno. Fittingly, EA has also managed to cause one of the most heated debates of Comic-Con 09, but it only partly has to do with the game itself.

See, EA decided to hold a “Sin to Win” contest to promote its upcoming game. The theme for the first round of the contest was the sin of lust, one of the nine circles of hell depicted in the classic poem and its game adaptation. To enter the contest, EA asked Comic-Con attendees to “commit acts of lust” in the form of taking a picture with one of the countless, scantily clad booth-babes scattered through the convention, and then Tweeting the picture to the Inferno developers' Twitter account, @danteteam.

Sounds innocent enough, and it seems to fit well within the theme of the game and the established traditions of Comic-Con and similar conventions (taking pictures with booth-babes is one of the oldest and most revered of all gaming convention traditions). However, as Mashable reports, quite a few people took offense to the contest, with many calling it “sexist”, “misogynistic”, and tantamount to “sexual harassment.”

Comic-Con 09 Live Blog: The Saboteur -- Rethinking The WWII Gaming Genre

I've lost count of how many World War II games have been made over the years. Honestly, I'm tired of that frickin' war. I long for a game about the French Banana War (Eddie Izzard). Pandemic's The Saboteur just might change my mind though. I mean, it's about a former race-car driver turned resistance agent that's on a quest for revenge. It's so zany, that it just might work! Here's the official description of the Comic-Con 09 panel on the game:

"The Saboteur: Rethinking the WWII Gaming Genre -- Pandemic Studios' lead designer Tom French and art director Chris Hunt discuss how historical events served as the foundation for their upcoming action sandbox game The Saboteur, who the Saboteur is, and how the innovative combination of game design and artistic style were employed to develop a unique experience."

G4tv.com's Sterling McGarvey -- who happens to be a race-car driver and a resistance fighter in his spare time -- will be bringing you the highlights and details from this panel. Click here for G4tv.com's live blog on The Saboteur: Rethinking the WWII Gaming Genre panel.

Buzz! Quiz World Screenshot

You think you're so smart. What with your glasses and New York Times crossword puzzle and "diploma"...but can you recite Family Guy quotes from memory or know who John Cena wrestled against three years ago at Wrestlemania? Then you're probably going to do well at the new Buzz! game, Quiz World. Trivia buff Sterling McGarvey has the lowdown:

"When you fire up a game of Quiz World, you immediately notice the degree of personalization. You can pick the round type much more easily than before -- which means, at long last, that you can completely duck and swerve Pie Fight rounds. Also, if you desire, you can either play a game chock full of crazy stipulations ("Crazy Rounds" is the official mode name) or play "Serious" rounds, which are straight-up trivia without fighting to keep your character from falling into a giant tank of slime."

PC and PlayStation 3 gamers should be getting a real treat in DC Universe Online. This MMO, which plays more like a console action game, features all the great heroes and villains from the DC Universe. Adding to the authenticity are renowned artist Jim Lee and legendary writer Marv Wolfman. Here are some highlights from the DC Universe Online panel at Comic-Con 09.

  • Jim Lee found the transition from 2D art to 3D are "jarring". Drawing the backs of objects/characters and adding texture were a challenge for him.
  • The dev team is leaving the option open for off-planet adventures. Rann, Thanagar...I'm down!
  • There will be a teenage body type for creating sidekick characters. Jim Lee finds the concept of sidekicks "creepy".
  • It looks like the game won't play up the "Multiverse" aspect of the DC Universe, though Superman Prime sounds like he'll be popping up later.
  • The developers promise that every character in the DCU will make an appearance in the game. I will hold them to that; Doiby Dickles better have a prominent role (not really).

For all the new details that were revealed at Comic-Con 09, be sure to read Patrick Klepek's live blog of the DC Universe Online panel.

South Park Let's Go Tower Defense Play! Screenshot

Sterling's been a busy man this weekend, bouncing from demo to demo, panel to panel, and assuredly, massive line to massive line. One of the first things he did, though, was take a look at South Park Let's Go Tower Defense Play!, the new...well, the title says it all. His preview's got the details:

"...the tower is South Park itself, and you must protect it from waves of miscreant children and dirty hippies. No, seriously, waves of dirty hippies will test the durability of your laser turrets, tennis ball launchers and man-made barriers. The game includes multiplayer for up to four players, which fits the roster of South Park's young heroes perfectly. If you don't quite have a full team, you can tap on the right bumper to switch between characters."

Comic-Con 09 Live Blog: Extract With Mike Judge, Jason Bateman, And Mila Kunis

One of the most uniquely funny people in entertainment, Mike Judge has served up deceptively witty side-splitters like Beavis & Butthead and Office Space. His upcoming movie, Extract, features a bevy of funny and beautiful people. Joining Judge on this Comic-Con 09 panel on Extract are Jason Bateman (Arrested Decelopment) and Kristen Wiig (Saturday Night Live). Adding some hotness is the sexy Mila Kunis (That '70s Show). If Judge's past works are any indication then Extract will be an enjoyable comedy with a unique sense of humor.

TheFeed's Stephen Johnson will be making the panel even funnier with his outstanding wit. Click here for G4tv.com's live blog on the Comic-Con 09 Miramax: Extract panel.

Metalocalypse: Dethgame

Among the many perks of being the seventh largest economy in the world is having the chance to star in your own video game. G4tv.com's Sterling McGarvey had a chance to shred some demons in Konami's upcoming brawler Metalocalypse: Dethgame, and here's a sample of the brutality he witnessed:

"Along the way, you'll smash heads to a pulp and disembody mutant rock fans to the sounds of Dethklok. Why does it remind me of that weird Wii game of yesteryear? It has a similar approach to gameplay. Sure, you're not flogging the dolphin with a Wii remote, but you're disposing of waves of throwaway enemies through a variety of brutal dispatches."
