What good are video games, if you can't use them to troll your little brother? See what I mean in the video below, as a very good natured younger bro gets messed with royally by his older sibling. It's really funny.
Rumors are flying that the Microsoft Kinect is coming to PCs. Apparently, a Korean gaming company GamePrix told IncGamers that its next game, Divine Soul, will use the Kinect on PCs.
“The game's support of gaming pads make it resemble console games even more, and is scheduled to support Kinect, a new control system of Xbox360... Kinect will soon be available as a new controller so it might be supported like joy pad mode in the future. Currently in MS, there are many game companies that are trying to apply for this system," Jason Lim from GamePrix said.

Sorry, console pervs: The Kinect sex game I told you about last week won't be coming to the 360, probably ever. According to Microsoft, Xbox is for family friendly games where you shoot people's faces apart, not for naughty games where you touch girl's booby-parts.
"This isn't the first example of a technology being used in ways not intended by its manufacturer, and it won't be the last," Microsoft said in a statement. "Microsoft did not authorize or license its technology for this use. Xbox is a family friendly games and entertainment console and does not allow Adults Only (AO) content to be certified for use on its platform, and would not condone this type of game for Kinect."
Computer nerds are doing some amazing things with the Microsoft Kinect hacks. The video below shows off a 3D video chat where one party is placed in a virtual office. According to its creator, Oliver Kreylos of UC Davis, the virtual chat allows participants to establish more realistic eyelines, as well as just being freakin' cool as hell. It uses two Kinect cameras and a Wiimote for head tracking.

Updated 12.16.2010, 4:10 PST: Sorry, the video has been pulled by YouTube. According to my old college pal, internet historian Jason Scott, when a new technology is introduced to the public, three kinds of stories are written in "The Media." Here they are, in order:
- "Hey, look at this New Thing!"
- "You can have sex with this New Thing!"
- "The New Thing can hurt you."
The Kinect has just entered phase two. Shady seeming developer ThriXXX Software, maker of 3D SexVilla 2, has developed a Kinect-powered sex simulator by adding support for Microsoft's control system to its line of 3DSex games. You can't play these games on your 360 right now, and you probably won't ever be able to, but if you're using your Kinect on your Windows 7 machine, it should work when it's released in 2011.
Let's take a look, wanna? (NSFW)
Maybe you've already blown through the gameplay fun offered by motion-controlled games Kinect Sports and Kinect Joy Ride. I know, it's hard to believe, but some people have already played these two deep games to completion! If so, there's some DLC coming to you, Mr. Casual Gamer.
The “Kinect Sports” Party Pack will be available for download today, and “Kinect Joy Ride” Chevrolet Car Pack will show up on January 4. Both pieces of DLC are totally free. Click the cut for details.
Microsoft confirmed today that Turn 10’s newly unveiled Forza Motorsport 4 will include Kinect support when it ships next year. Racing game purists will be pleased to hear that. unlike Kinect Joy Ride, Forza 4 will fully support controller-based play as well.
Ubisoft has found itself on the business end of a lawsuit filed this week on behalf of the Ultimate Fighting Championship over Ubisoft’s allegedly trademark infringing use of the phrase “Ultimate Fighting” in a tagline found of the box for its Kinect game Fighters Uncaged. The offending phrase reads, “Become the Ultimate Fighting weapon!”

Activision, Nintendo, and Microsoft were the big winners for November according to the last sales figures provided by research firm NPD Group. Treyarch’s ubiquitous shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops took the top spot for software sales, while the Xbox 360 was the best-selling console for the sixth consecutive month, securing its position as the best-selling console in the U.S. for 2010.
As an early adopter of Kinect, I've had a lot of people (ok, two), ask me, "Should I get one?" I never know how to reply. Pre-release, we all had visions in our head of using Kinect the way Batman uses his computer, or the way the dude in Heavy Rain uses his magic sunglasses. But the reality is a lot more "meh." Yes, you can navigate menus with gestures, but it's not a very robust system, and after a few minutes of trying it out, you'll be back to your controller. A video released by some Kinect hackers at MIT, though, shows off the very deep possibilities of using Kinect's current hardware.
Check it out in this youtube video:
The question I have though, is basic: Are gesture based UIs a good idea, even in theory? I wonder if a simple remote control isn't inherently a better way to look at stuff on your TV than any hand waving system would ever be. It reminds me a bit of sci-fi movies from the 70s, when everyone was convinced we'd be talking to our computers, in spite of the fact that talking to your computer is a terrible, terrible idea compared to using a mouse and/or keyboard. Either way, check out the video, it's very cool.

While Dance Central may be a fun game to play, the real enjoyment comes from watching rhythmically challenged people try to actually dance. It's almost like the internet was created just so people could upload a montage of themselves stumbling and snapping awkwardly. Check out the hilarity in this week's links.

Microsoft announced today that over 2.5 million Kinects have been sold worldwide since the motion sensing camera launched earlier this month.
“We are thrilled about the consumer response to Kinect, and are working hard with our retail and manufacturing partners to expedite production and shipments of Kinect to restock shelves as fast as possible to keep up with demand,” Microsoft’s Interactive Entertainment Business president Don Mattrick said in statement to the press. “With sales already exceeding two and a half million units in just 25 days, we are on pace to reach our forecast of 5 million units sold to consumers this holiday.”
Now that Black Friday has ended, Cyber Monday descends upon us with even more savings on Xbox, PS3, Wii, PC, DS, and PSP games. Want to save more dough? Check out our highlights below, and remember to surf the web often because these will be popping up all day. If you missed picking up something from our Holiday Buyer's Guide on the cheap on Friday, then this is your second chance.
By 2020 will this just extend into one entire week of gluttonous shopping? As long as the deals manage to impress, I'm all for it. Especially with these Cyber-sales, where I can shop in my underwear and not have to wrestle with someone's grandma over a copy of Demon's Souls. And ugh, why are we using the word "cyber" in 2010? Put a bullet in it, already. Onwards for savings!
