No matter what side of the fence you may fall on, all gamers can agree that this year was the best year in gaming to date. With a huge number of top shelf titles, there aren't enough hours in the day to get through them all. We are very lucky to have so many talented people producing such creative expressions in the form of interactive media. Now get to work on next year's crop.

All-New 'Human Wrecking Balls' Tonight

Well, if you have, then you know how cool it is to watch them break stuff using only their body mass to do so. If not, you're really missing out.

Luckily, there's an all-new episode of Human Wrecking Balls tonight at 10:30PM ET, so you can catch up.

What We're Playing This Weekend

With so many great games recently released, you must be saying, "Hey, I wonder what the crew at G4tv.com are playing this weekend?"

We're going to tell you!

Brian Leahy -- "Definitely Gears of War 2 multiplayer and I'll finally be diving into the Resistance 2 campaign. I keep meaning to go back and finish Fallout 3 and put more time into Rock Band 2, but that might not happen. Hit me up on PSN for some Resistance 2 if you see me! PSN: empathe"

Webmaster -- "First I’m going to finish Gears of War 2. Then I’m going to start Resistance 2 stopping halfway through the game to get online and start a flamewar with myself about how much I suck, my mom sucks and how much your mom sucks. I will spend some time in the flamewar covering why Gears pwns Resistance and why Resistance pwns Gears, but not much. If I have time after all of that and haven’t stabbed myself repeatedly in the face with a meat skewer, I’ll update the language pack on FIFA 2009 and blast the German commentary at top volume until my neighbors call the police."

Patrick Roche-Sowa -- "I’m in the last 3rd of Gears of War 2 campaign, so I plan on finishing that. Once that’s in the bag I’ll probably play some online multiplayer, and start the campaign in Resistance 2, and if I have time, I’ll head back to Fallout 3, because I have been ignoring it since Gears came out, and I miss making ghouls explode in a bloody-mess."

Joe Paulding -- "I'll be playing Gears of War 2. I need to finish the campaign (still!) and spend a little time with Horde. I'll also be banging on the Guitar Hero World Tour drum set a bit, getting used to that extra pad in the middle."

Dan Whitehill -- "Currently finishing the Co-Op of Gears of War 2… then maybe Fable 2 if they’d ever release a patch to let my character out of Bloodstone, if not then the Left 4 Dead demo and LittleBigPlanet.

Eugene Morton -- "I'll be playing Fallout 3, a game I thought I wouldn't like, instead of Gears of War 2, a game I knew I'd love, because, even though I want to see Marcus Fenix stick it to those damn Locusts, I just can't stop blowing up wasteland mutants in slow motion. That V.A.T.S. system is where it's at!"

Jeff Kanjanapangka -- "After watching old History Channel episodes of the Roman Military, I'm going to tackle trying to get past wave 20 of Hardcore Horde Mode on Avalanche in Gears of War 2. The Boomshield is godly when used in conjunction with the "phalanx" formation of the ancient world.

Also, the relatives are in town early for the holidays. I'm going to try to get the older folks to sit through an entire play through of the Left 4 Dead demo with the lights off and stereo cranked up. You'd be surprised how fast the Thai language can spout off statements with the English word "zombie" in it. You wouldn't be surprised, however, to understand how much fun that situation would be."

Apparently, we all love Gears of War 2, but there's some good variety in there! What are you playing this weekend?

You're awesome. Well, most of you are awesome. Well, lets just say that some of you have expressed your awesomeness in more awesome ways than others... specifically as blog comments.

So without any warning, pre-planning or official contest nonsense, we'd like to randomly reward a few of you with some bitchin' figurines from our friends at Spawn.com. The comments below amused us in some way, so the users will get either a Guitar Hero, Call of Duty or Halo 3 Multiplayer figure of our choosing. Think of it as a 'Webmaster Loves You'.

Last Friday we posted a 'LittleBigPlanet Developer's Favorite Levels' story and kangy3 told the world "screw lists that start with 1". Indeed.

This week's edition of Sessler's Soapbox was a hotbed of fanboy debate, as Adam took on the Gears 2 vs Resistance 2 nonsense going on over at Metacritic. Amongst the nearly 300 comments, RTR's shone brightly saying "I wish all the fanboys in the world had one ass so I could put my foot in it. Sigh. Wish I had a voice like Rorshach".

In Thursday's 'EA Making Own Wii Workout Game' post, Mouth_of_Sauron dropped this bit of witty wordplay on the internet: "Oh thank god. I can't weight to lose wait." Do you see what he did there?

And there were a lot of good comments on our 'Armless German Shoplifter Steals TV' story from late Monday. Of all of them, WalterWhite's comment of "That's nothing. Guess where they hid the remote" made us literally LOL (LLOL?).

Thanks to all of you for helping us make this website a better place to hang out... and as long as you keep making awesome comments, we promise to start doing this little user reacharound more often... at least until we run out of crap to steal from the stockpile under Pereira's desk. Apologies for any brilliant comments that we missed, there are clearly a lot more good ones, but the Webmaster wants to go home and play video games. We'll get you next time.

The MMO Report: Wrath of the Lich King Special

It's finally here. After all the waiting, watching, and stalking, Wrath of the Lich King has finally been unleashed, and we couldn't be happier. Consider yourself lucky we didn't call in sick today.

Whether you play or not, World of Warcraft is undeniably the most popular MMO ever, and the level of anticipation leading up to this new expansion is beyond that which you can comprehend. There were midnight launch parties all over the world last night, and we've got a ton of pictures from the one down in Anaheim. Yes, it really was that nuts.

But what do we have for you this week? A Lich King special of course. We'll clue you in on some of the details you won't find yourself for at least the next week or so, and we've also got an interview with Blizzard Production Director J. Allen Brak from when he stopped by the X-Play studios this Tuesday. Also, Casey got a haircut. Take notice. Sessler's Soapbox: Get A Life, Fanboys!

Just from looking at some of the comments made on our website, you must know there is always a large divide between those who are dedicated to the Playstation 3, and those whose loyalty lies with the Xbox 360. This debate spreads across the entire internet, hiding in every little gaming forum and message board you may come across in your travels along the information superhighway. But sometimes, things go too far.

Such is the topic of Adam's rant in this week's Sessler's Soapbox. The mudslinging between Gears of War 2 and Resistance 2 fanboys on Metacritic has reached a critical mass, and The Sess does not understand such things. How can people have such hatred for a game they probably never played? Is it blind fanboyism? A refusal to see another point of view? Or just internet trolling at its worst? Chime in with your opinion on the comments section, and please, keep it civil.

Huge Night of Premieres Tonight on G4!

In case you've been living under a rock, we wanted to remind you that G4 is having a huge night of premieres. Take a look at what we've got coming, and promise us you'll keep your eyes glued to our beloved network tonight.

Starting at 6PM ET, with a special episode of Attack of the Show, Kevin and Olivia invade Japan and explore the culture of our friends across the Pacific. Look for Kevin to train to become a sumo wrestler, Olivia to try eating whale meat, and for a special appearance by the dancing storm trooper. Here's a quick preview of what to expect.

Then, at 7PM ET, we kick off NinjaFest 3 by airing the premiere of G4's American Ninja Challenge 3 special, highlighting the winners of G4's American Ninja Challenge 3 as they prepare for their trip to Japan.

Continuing NinjaFest 3, is the premiere of an all new season of Ninja Warrior at 8PM ET, presented in its entirety in five back-to-back episodes. Watch as four American Ninjas head to Japan to take on the course, including Levi Meeuwenberg, who last season made it farther than any other competitor. If you need a reminder of what Levi can do, here he is taking on stage 1, stage 2, and stage 3.

Plus, Attack of the Show hosts Kevin Pereira and Olivia Munn take on the course themselves, so you don't want to miss it! As an added bonus, we've got both hosts giving their behind the scenes thoughts on what it's going to take to conquer Mount Midoriyama, as well discussing what costumes they're going to wear.

FInally, it all culminates with the World Premiere of the very first episode of Human Wrecking Balls at 10:30PM ET. Watch as world creative breaking champions Paul and Craig Pumphrey destroy a classic American muscle car using only their own bare hands, and a little science. Yesterday, Craig and Paul Pumphrey, the stars of G4's newest show, Human Wrecking Balls destroyed everything on the Attack of the Show set but the cameras. They broke bats, crushed and twisted frying pans and turned cinder blocks into piles of dust.

'Ninja Fest 3' Coming November 12th!

On November 12th, G4 will show Ninja Fest 3, in which our four American Ninja champions and Attack of the Show hosts Kevin Pereira and Olivia Munn will run the Ninja Warrior course! The whole thing kicks off this Wednesday at 6PM ET, with a special episode of Attack of the Show, entitled Kevin and Olivia Attack Tokyo!, before we get to a preview of the new Ninja Warrior season, and five new episodes that have never been aired. We finish off with a wrap-up that Kevin and Olivia will host, including behind-the-scenes footage of the entire event.

We just happen to have a pre-trip interview with Kevin and Olivia, where they talk about such things as what costumes they're going to wear, and how they feel about running the course. If you want to see it, and you do, just check it out after the jump.

LOS ANGELES – November 3, 2008 — You’ve seen Kevin Pereira and Olivia Munn take to the skies in fighter jets, swallow whole hot dogs, juice oranges while running on treadmills, and even host the show blindfolded, but can they be Ninjas?! The two popular hosts of G4’s “Attack of the Show” join the four winners of G4’s American Ninja Challenge on a journey to Japan to face off against the merciless obstacle course that has defeated thousands before them. G4 premieres the nightlong programming event “Ninja Fest 3” on Wednesday, November 12 from 6:00-10:30 PM, ET/PT.

TV’s hottest night of ninjas kicks off at 6:00 pm ET/PT, with a special episode of Attack of the Show, "Kevin and Olivia Attack Tokyo," where the dynamic duo go on a journey through Tokyo, introducing viewers to the many things that make this city one of the coolest on Earth. The special goes inside Japanese hipsters’ favorite hang-outs, as well as a close look at some of their favorite pastimes and gadgets. Kevin and Olivia introduce viewers to interactive photo booths, visit a sake factory, get flesh-eating carp pedicures, encounter flesh eating fish, eat whale genitals, and drink at some of the smallest bars in the world, at the unique Golden Gai district. Kevin also gives viewers a glimpse into the sumo culture, as he dons authentic sumo gear and gets into the ring with a real sumo wrestler, while Olivia drives one of the elusive underground Dekotora Trucks.

Directly following, G4 presents a one-hour special, “American Ninja Challenge 3 Preview,” at 7:00 pm ET/PT which highlights the journeys of Kevin and Olivia and the four amazing American competitors as they prepare to take on Mt. Midoriyama, a course that only two people have ever successfully completed. This year’s contestants include: American Ninja Challenge’s returning winner Levi Meeuwenberg from Michigan, who returns to take on the course that defeated him in stage three earlier this year; Minneapolis resident Mark Witmer, a former University of Minnesota gymnastic team member; Brian Orosco, a San Francisco commercial real estate broker; and Luci Romberg, a Hollywood stuntwoman and the first American female to attempt the course. The special also presents a behind-the-scenes look at the Japanese production team that plans the Japanese broadcast of Sasuke and the tournament itself, offering fans an inside peek at one of the world’s most grueling and challenging competitions.

Five new episodes of G4’s hit competition series “Ninja Warrior” will premiere back-to-back, from 8:00-10:30 pm ET/PT, once again bringing viewers face-to-face with the superhuman Sasuke course at Japan’s Mt. Midoriyama, where athletes and amateurs alike come twice a year to prove their mettle. The four-stage course is designed to challenge each fiber of a competitor’s body and spirit, and most will not make it through even stage one.
