E3 2009

Regardless of your feelings towards fitness games, it's a major money maker, and it's going to be around for a long, long time, so you'd better get used to hearing about it. While it seems every developer around is working on a fitness title of their own, Nintendo is still the one to beat, and it's looking to keep its streak going with Wii Fit Plus, which will feature 15 new exercises and is due out sometime in the next year.

The new E3 2009 trailer shows off some of the new game features and exercises, so even if you don't actually do any real exercise today, at least you can say you exercised your eyes. You're welcome.

EA's Skate franchise revolutionized skating games by stripping away awkward button assignments and mapping all of the controls to the thumbsticks. Needless to say, this left other franchises like Activision's Tony Hawk series struggling to find ways to catch up.

Well, with Tony Hawk: Ride and the new skateboard peripheral it employs, Activision is looking to push the genre even further and reclaim some of its former glory. It's certainly an ambitious approach, and while you ponder just how successful the gamble will be, why not check out the new E3 2009 trailer.

Brutal Legend, from Double Fine Productions, is super metal, and it features Jack Black whomping the enemy with his mighty axe, which, as you might have already guessed, is a killer guitar. President of Double Fine, Tim Schafer, talked with Adam Sessler about the game onstage at today's E3 09 Live.

Check it out.

Alison Haislip drew the lucky straw and got to talk with Harmonix's Director of Design, Chris Foster, about the heavily-anticipated The Beatles: Rock Band, and even got to play the game herself. We get a look at some gameplay footage, as well as the awesome instruments that will be available with the game bundle when it comes out.

You can look, but not touch, here.

The trailer for Lost Planet 2 embedded in our website below features guns, explosions, armor suits, running about and huge monster boss battles: In short, everything you could ever want to see in a video game trailer.

The game will be out in 2010 for the PS3, 360 and PC.

Honestly, a Team Ninja co-developed Metroid Wii game has me more than a little curious, especially since the game looks like Metroid Gaiden, and I say that in the best way possible. Giant beasts, lava pits, insane acrobatics, non-stop, over-the-top, Samus-y action around every turn, and...and...Ok. Breathe. Get it together...Done.

If for some reason you doubt my rather tempered assessment of the game, then just take a look at the new Metroid: The Other M E3 2009 trailer and see for yourself.

Dr. Ray Muzyka & Dr. Greg Zeschuk of Bioware gave us a preview of Mass Effect 2 today, live onstage at E3 09 Live, where they talked about the game with Adam Sessler and Olivia Munn. The second game of a trilogy, the good doctors talked about this particular episode as being the dark second act, with more brutal weaponry, better dialogue, and more killing than ever before.

Emotionally wrenching, graphically beautiful and morally ambiguous, Heavy Rain is a title eagerly awaited by a certain kind of "serious" video game player. But can it possibly live up to years of hype when it's released for the PlayStation 3 by the end of the year?

Check out the trailer below and see if it sheds any light on the issue.

While there certainly are plenty of parallels to be drawn between the electro-charged inFamous and the beast-driven Prototype, both games offer enough unique and satisfying action and mayhem to warrant closer looks. And after the newly released Prototype E3 2009 launch trailer, chances are you'll want to become very familiar with the game come launch day....Very familiar.

On today's E3 09 Live from the Los Angeles Convention Center, Doug Lombardi of Valve talked with Kevin Pereira and Adam Sessler about Left 4 Dead 2, giving us an early idea of what might be in the game, including the setting in the Southeast, and talked about how Valve couldn't stop themselves from releasing a sequel so soon after the original game was released.

Rogue Warrior is an upcoming video game developed by Rebellion Developments and published by Bethesda Softworks. In the game, you play as an agent inserted deep into North Korea, trying to determine North Korea's nuclear threat level to the United States. How's that for ripped-from-the-headlines action?

Rogue Warrior will be out for the PlayStation 3, 360 and PC in late 2009 -- check out the trailer below and check out the amazingness.

Nintendo did its best to appease fans during this year's E3 by announcing no fewer than 73 new Mario games, or so it seemed. One of the newly revealed titles is the action-RPG Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story for the DS.

And while you wouldn't think that the intestinal tract of a monstrous dinosaur tyrant (where the game takes place) could be adorable, Nintendo has managed to do just that. Check out the new E3 2009 trailer to see what kinds of internal traps and tricks await you when the game is released this October.

This is the big one, folks: The next Metal Gear Solid game: Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. Although it's for the PSP, Hideo Kojima assured the adoring throngs at E3 2009's Sony press conference that this is not a spin-off or a side game -- it's the real thing, baby.

Check out just how real it is in the clip below in which Kojima himself spells out exactly how awesome this game is going to be...oh, and make sure you stick around for the trailer, okay?

I'm a big Splinter Cell fan, and to finally be able to see Mr. Fisher in all his roguish glory in Splinter Cell: Conviction has been by far one of the most enjoyable moments of this year's E3.

There are so many things on display in this E3 2009 demo trailer worthy of discussion and dissection, so I recommend watching it at least 75 times, because you will notice something new each and every time. And this trailer only shows a sliver of a splinter of what awaits players in the full game, so...you know...think about that.
