Katamari Damacy Announced For The PlayStation Vita -- Roll Up All The Things

Namco Bandai announced that a new version of Katamari Damacy is coming for the PlayStation Vita. The game is just called Katamari Damacy for now, and according to Namco, the game "will use the console’s unique front touch screen and rear touch pad to bring fingertip control to the series for the first time."

You'll once again be playing as the adorable Prince as the King of All Cosmos sends you on tasks to roll up just about everything. You'll be rolling up items large and small, inanimate and alive, from ants all the way up Mount Fuji. With the Vita version of the game, you'll be able to use the rear touch pad of the system to stretch the ball horizontally or vertically to pick up more objects or squeeze through gaps.

I love every single Katamari Damacy game and find them all equally charming and hilarious. With the new gameplay elements that allow you to stretch the ball around, I'm sure the team will put out something even more imaginative than ever before.

Are you excited for a Katamari Damacy title for the PlayStation Vita?

When Final Fantasy 13-2 releases on January 31 (my birthday!) familiar faces Snow and Hope from Final Fantasy 13 will both be making appearances. As Snow was Serah's love interst in the first game, I'm interested to see how he'll be integrated this time around. As for Hope, I'll just say that I really, really didn't like Hope so I'm not too excited to see him again. Hopefully he's more mature and interesting this time around. Check out the Japanese trailer below to see Hope and Snow's updated character models.

What do you think? Are you excited to see these characters back for the second time in Final Fantasy 13-2, or did you have enough of them the first time around?

PlayStation Vita Launch Window To Include 100 Titles

Sony has announced that there will be 100 PlayStation Vita titles available during the Vita launch window. Unfortunately it wasn't exactly made clear during their press conference just when the window starts or when it goes until, but that's a hell of a lot of games.

Some that were mentioned include FISH ON, Dynasty Warriors, LittleBigPlanet 2, Wipeout, UMC, Uncharted, Enverybvodys Golf, Ridge Racer, Michael Jackson, Field, BlazBlue Extend, and Lord of Apocylpse. Titles like Tales of Innocence, Gravity Daze, Metal Gear Solid HD Edition, Fifa, and others will follow sometime after launch.

Does this many games seem too ambitious for the PS Vita's launch, or are you excited about all of the variety?

Metal Gear Solid And Zone Of The Enders HD Collections Coming To The PlayStation Vita

Hideo Kojima took the stage at the Tokyo Game Show to talk about upcoming the Konami releases that are coming to the PlayStation Vita including the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection and the Zone of Enders HD Collection. We already knew as of E3 that the collections would be coming to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, but now you'll be able to play both on the go with your Vita.

The Metal Gear Solid HD Collection will include Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. The Zone of the Enders HD Collection will include Zone of the Enders and Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner.

If I were to hazard a guess, I'd say that Tranfarring will be enabled with both of these titles between the Vita and PS3 versions. No release date was announced for either title, so we're not sure if they will be launch titles. As always, when we get more information on these titles we'll be sure to update you.

Final Fantasy 10 HD Remake Coming To The PlayStation Vita And PlayStation 3

Moments ago at Sony's press conference Hashimoto-san from Square Enix announced that an HD version of Final Fantasy 10 is coming for the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 3. According to Hashimoto-san us Final Fantasy fans need "to be patient for news regarding this new game" which means we probably shouldn't expect it as a Vita launch title.

When we get more information on the Final Fantasy 10 HD remakes we'll be sure to let  you know all about it.

zelda

The October issue of Game Informer is brimming with all new The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword details revealing the game's new weapons, dungeons, modes, and more. When I say brimming, I mean there's 24 pages dedicated to the Zelda series packed in to the magazine, with 10 of them focused entirely on the newest entry in the series. We've taken the juciest bits of info from the article and laid them all out here for you.

"Some of the fun we had back then was lost in the creation of later games," said Eiji Aonuma, the director on Skyward Sword and many past Zelda games. "The problem is that when you do something once in a game like Ocarina of Time, when you make the next game it becomes expected that all of that is there. You end up spending a lot of time creating all these elements of the game just to meet expectations. (My goal with Skyward Sword is to) take the franchise into new places."

Be aware that this serves as your SPOILER ALERT. If you don't want to know any of the new details from Skyward Sword, consider yourself warned and don't click on the Read More tag.

New Misty Pink Nintendo 3DS Coming To Japan This October

At Nintendo's Tokyo Game Show press conference, the company revealed a new Misty Pink colored Nintendo 3DS coming to Japan on October 20. The fabulously colored 3DS is supposed to entice more female users to pick up the system, as the 3DS currently doesn't have as many girls playing it as much as they play on other Nintendo platforms. As of now, the pink 3DS does not have a US or EU release date, but I think it's a safe bet that the system will be available everywhere by the holiday season.

I think the pink color is fine, but if I had to choose a new 3DS color I'd want a simple crystal clean white. What about you, if you could paint your 3DS any color, which color would you pick?

This new trailer from The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword shows off the Wii exclusive's new upgrade system. Basically you'll find things while fighting enemies and you can use them to upgrade your items to make them stronger. Aside from the Big Goron Sword in Ocarina of Time I'm pretty sure this is a first for the Zelda series, and it's something I'm very excited about. I love collecting things and getting the best items possible, so I can't wait to try this out.

Bayonetta Dev's Opinions On Motion Controls, Casual Games: If It Makes Sense

According to a tip from Sega fansite TSSZ, we should expect a Bayonetta 2 announcement "fairly soon" from the Tokyo Game Show which is going on this week. Their sources didn't have too much info on the game, not knowing if it was a proper sequel or a spinoff, but they did mention that Sega Sammy's animation studio Marza Animation Planet is working on an "animated component" for the series.

Keep in mind that nothing official has been confirmed by Sega regarding Bayonetta 2, but once we hear more on the sultry action game's new installment we'll be sure to let you know.

Would you be excited for a second Bayonetta game? I thought that the first was clever and quite fun. What types of things would you want to see from Bayonetta 2

A Look At Team Ico's Long Awaited The Last Guardian

According to Sony, the game that I've been waiting for six years for, The Last Guardian, is not scheduled to make an appearance at this year's Tokyo Game Show on September 15-18. They announced the sad news via the PlayStation Blog, saying, "We can assure you that Ueda-san and the rest of the development team are hard at work to bring his lofty vision to life and deliver the very best gaming experience possible."

What does that mean? We haven't seen anything from this game since after last years Tokyo Game Show, and even then all we got was screenshots. It wasn't at E3 the past two years, and we haven't even heard any news on the game in quite some time. With the ICO and Shadow of the Colossus Collection coming out this month, you'd think this would be the perfect time to show off some new The Last Guardian stuff while the fans are more hyped than ever.
