Walmart Black Friday Deals Start On Thanksgiving Day: Get An Xbox Kinect Bundle For $199

One of my favorite Thanksgiving traditions is to go Black Friday shopping with my dad, and this year Walmart is making it much easier by offering their Black Friday deals at 10pm on Thanksgiving evening, followed by events at Midnight and 8 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 25.

“Our customers told us they would rather stay up late to shop than get up early, so we’re going to hold special events on Thanksgiving and Black Friday,” said Duncan Mac Naughton, chief merchandising officer, Walmart U.S. “We’ll have this season’s hottest gifts at prices only Walmart can provide. And by sharing our Black Friday specials earlier than ever, we hope to make buying decisions easier for parents working hard to give their families the Christmas they deserve.”

And luckily for you, we've got a list of some of the best electronic goods that you may want to keep an eye out for during the sale.

At 10pm on Thanksgiving you can snag the following:

GameStop Creates Digital Distribution Executive Position -- A Sign Of Things To Come?

GameStop wasted no time in making good on its September promise to start selling a line of branded, Android-powered tablet, as that's exactly what the retailer is now doing. As an initial test run, 200 GameStop retail locations in the U.S. are now hawking the first run of these devices, according to The Wall Street Journal (via Gamasutra).

The branded tablets come from Asus, Acer and Samsung and are priced to compete with the prices you'd see on the same devices in competing stores. The ones GameStop is selling come pre-loaded with seven games, however, including the mobile versions of Electronic Arts' Dead Space and Madden NFL, as well as the retailer's Kongregate Arcade app.

Xperia Play

You know how you got used to saying "Sony Ericsson" when discussing mobile phones? Well get un-used to it, pronto. Sony has purchased Telefon AB L.M. Ericsson of Sweden, because Sony would like to boost the company's strategy to connect its mobile-gadget offerings with an online network of music, videos and games. In other words, compete with Samsung, Apple and and everyone else by merging your TV, your phone, and your game system.

What did this sure-to-be successful venture cost Sony? One and a half billion (with a "B") dollars.

How well Sony can compete with the iPhone will depend on the products it releases, obviously, and one of the products Sony seems very keen on is the Xperia Play, an Android-based handset that takes full advantage of Sony's PlayStation brand. Plus, you can play Minecraft on it, which is almost enough to get me to switch phones.
