Most of us are perfectly happy using a basic, functional computer mouse, but people with more refined tastes might want to give Intelligent Designs' Titanium Mouse a look. It's grossly expensive for a peripheral that spends most of its time covered by the palm of your hand, but it's a sleek-looking thing.

Available in either white or black, you can nab yourself one of these babies from Intelligent Design's online store for €399, or roughly $520, plus shipping and taxes/import fees. Alternatively, you could skip the mouse entirely and just get yourself a touch-enabled tablet for roughly the same price. It sure does look pretty though, right?

Want a watch that makes you work for results? The Kisai Maze watch hides the time in the negative space of the maze. To the untrained eye, the watch will display a series of meaningless lines, but after some practice, you'll be able to decipher the time at a glance. The Kisai Maze is available in stainless steel or IP Black. It comes with an EL backlight too. The price for one of these cryptic watches is currently $99, but as of Thursday, October 18, the watch will will cost $139.

It's been in production for a long time, and now the Quadski is finally getting a commercial release. Gibbs's amphibious Quadski ATV tops out at 45 mph on both land and water, and can go from a land-based vehicle to a boat with the push of a button. Official pricing will be announced closer to the Quadski's on-sale date, sometime in mid-November, although the price tag will probably be around $40,000.

This is a reminder that your chance to watch a man leap into history (and out of a balloon on the edge of the stratosphere) is happening in about an hour. Adventurer Felix Baumgartner will attempt to jump from 23 miles above the earth and break multiple world records.

In 13 hours, Austrian skydiver and BASE jumper Felix Baumgartner will ascend 23 miles (120,000 feet) into the upper atmosphere above New Mexico in a specially designed balloon. He will then leap out of it, fall through the air at speeds up to 690 miles per hour before opening his chute and landing safely on the earth below. That's the idea anyway. You can watch the entire thing happen, tomorrow, live on the Internet, thanks to 30 cameras placed in various locations on the craft and on Baumgartner's body.

If everything goes according to plan, Baumgartner will have broken the world's records for highest skydive, longest free fall, highest manned balloon flight and first man to go supersonic -- Baumgartner will be falling so fast, he'll break the sound barrier. If everything doesn't go according to plan... well, let's just hope everything goes according to plan.

A few months ago, when internet cartoon The Oatmeal called upon its readers to donate money to build a museum for the work of eccentric inventor Nikola Tesla, I didn't think it would happen. $850,000 is a lot of money, and the Internet often doesn't show much follow-through. But I was wrong. The IndieAGoGo campaign raised over $1.3 Million from the Internet, and the Tesla Museum is actually happening.

On Friday, a group called the Tesla Science Center at Wardenclyffe bought 16 acres on Long Island to create a Tesla museum and science center, the first museum in the U.S. dedicated to strange and wonderful genius inventor Nikola Tesla.

Tesla inspired the name and work of 1980s heavy metal band Tesla, but is best known for establishing alternating current for the transmission of electricy and co-inventing radio. He also built an earthquake machine he said was capable of splitting the earth in half, a projector designed to project thoughts, a reciever that he believed received tranmissions from Mars, and a death-ray, the design of which he refused to write down, for fear that it would be used for world domination by an unscupulous group.

Ahhh, Paris. Known mostly for baguettes, striking workers, and the place where Tom Hanks solved a complicated mystery like it was the crossword in the back of an in-flight magazine, the French capital is also playing host to one of the biggest auto shows of the year. 

The Paris Motor Show 2012 (or Mondail de l'Automobile for those who wear berets) is one of the biggest global car events of the year, and while many manufacturers use it as a launching pad for their 2013 and 2014 production models, they also use it as an opportunity to show off futuristic concept cars.

Behold, the future of luxury! The image you see above is of the Hottug, a combination powerboat and hot tub. The little floating bathing chamber is made of wood and glass fiber reinforced polyester, and uses a stainless steel stove with a wall pipe to keep the water warm. The deluxe model even offers a wood-burning stove, for that rustic feel. It's powered by either an electric or standard outboard motor and can hold either 8 or 6 people, depending on the model you purchase. The cost: $14,800 at the low-end and $21,000 at the top.

Interestingly enough, this product from the Netherlands is not the only combination hot tub and boat on the market. Tugtub offers an inflatable variation on the idea. It's a bit cheaper, clocking in at $11,495 for the two-person model and $17,495 for the top-of-the-line.

I'm happy that there is healthy competition in the floating hot tub market, and can only assume that a vicious bidding war will break out to capture the important market segment of consumers who are interested in being in a hot tub while floating in a body of water.

One of the quirkiest pieces of gear we found at Tokyo Game Show 2012 were the Necomimi cat ears from Neurosky. Basically, they interpret your brainwaves and move accordingly based on your mental state. If you're focused, they'll perk up, if you're relaxed, they'll drop down. Take a look for yourself, and if you watch all the way to the end you'll get to see NeuroSky's latest prototype -- a wagging tail!

Google glasses, codenamed Project Glass, graced the runway during Diane Von Furstenberg show at New York Fashion Week. The $1,500 frames are not available to the public but a bunch of models got towear them on Sunday in the name of fashion. The glasses, combined with Diane Von Furstenberg duds, made the models look like made-to-order android wives. I totally dig the futuristic look!

Google's founder Sergey Brin was at the event and even joined Diane Von Furstenberg on the runway at the end of the show. This seems like an attempt to make the public see these glasses as fashionable. Wearing Geordi glasses in real life are a tough sell, but if anyone can convince me to wear those out, it's these ladies. Are you fashion-forward enough to wear Google Glass?

Ars Electronica Futurelab has created something truly amazing. The European collective launched 49 Quadrocopters into the night sky, and created a video that is truly magic. Click play!

Nike is taking exercising to the next level with their "Game On, World" campaign. The Nike+ TR-1's featured in the video are the first shoe that measures your activity to let you know how high, how fast, and hard you're playing, working, and jumping. The shoes have a sensor in them and when attached to the Nike+ app you'll be able to get workouts just like the pros use and share your stats through Facebook and Twitter.
