The Spore Galactic Edition has just squeeked out of the EA vaults, but thanks to their penchant for squeezing cash out of every possible angle on a game, there is some pretty cool stuff included if you're the collecting type.

For $80 you'll get:
- A "Making of Spore" DVD
- A DVD from National Geographic called "How to Make a Better Being"
- "Art of Spore" Mini-book
- Spore Poster
- 100-page Galactic Handbook

Spore is an evolution simulator of sorts published by Electronic Arts and due out on September 7 for the PC. Other platforms are presumably in the works and variants of the game will be out on Nintendo DS and mobile phones.

Finally, we're getting some 3rd party instruments for our Rock Band. A while back, Mad Catz was given the official thumbs up from Harmonix to become a licensed manufacturer of 3rd party Rock Band accessories.

Up first is the Fender Bass controller with a recommended list price at $69.99. This beauty comes with a split strum bar so you can pluck as you would a real bass. The 360 version will be out June 22, PS3 on July 15, and Wii on August 1.

Moog, known for it's synthesizing prowess and innovations is lending their hot styles and techniques to their next horizon, the guitar.

Among the dope modes is an infinite sustain (that means never-ending,) a mute mode that makes hammer-ons and pull-offs (our favorite Devo album btw) a much simpler task. Also included in their new cavalcade of on-guitar effects is a controlled sustain mode that, according to Moog, allows "you to play sustained single or polyphonic lines without muting technique. The Moog Guitar sustains the notes you are playing while actively muting the strings you are not playing."

Pretty boss, right? Video demo with Lou Reed, Vernon Reid, Fareed Haque, and no one else with "Reed" in their name on the flipside.
