Resident Evil: Revelations "Hunk" Gameplay Trailer »

Capcom has a new gameplay trailer for the upcoming console/PC version of Resident Evil: Revelations. Hunk is the star of this little montage (via All Games Beta), which focuses primarily on gun-pointing and horrific creature-snuffing. That's Resident Evil for you.

From the look of things, Resident Evil: Revelations gets a big visual bump in the move from Nintendo's 3DS to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and Windows platforms. That should be great news to fans still smarting from the misstep that was 2012's Resident Evil 6. The console/PC version of Resident Evil: Revelations arrives on May 23, 2013.

Black Ops 2 Revolution Map Pack Details Slip Out

The first DLC for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 came to Xbox 360 in late-January 2013, and Activision now confirms that PlayStation 3 and PC versions will follow suit at the end of this month. The Revolution DLC pack hits those platforms on February 28, 2013, though there's no mention in the press release of Wii U release plans.

This Revolution pack is fairly full-featured as far as Call of Duty DLC goes. You get four multiplayer maps, a new Zombies map, a new Zombies versus mode that pits player-humans against player-zombies, and a new gun, the Peacekeeper SMG. It's a solid collection of stuff provided that you like to do Call of Duty things outside the campaign.

Crysis 3 "Sharp Dressed Man" Trailer »

This latest 'Sharp Dressed Man' trailer for Crysis 3 (via All Games Beta) goes for cheap laughs, and that's fine. We've heard all we're going to hear by now about the game's play, features, and focus. The only thing left is to show you how badass it can be to run around in a Nanosuit. There's even a moment where Prophet mugs for the camera while a helicopter he shot an explosive arrow into explodes behind him.

Really though, this trailer was a win from the moment that ZZ Top's "Sharp Dressed Man" was chosen to play on top of the footage. Nothing says "holy crap, this guy can kick some tail" more than a blues-rock band filled out by dudes with beards longer than your arm. Crysis 3 comes to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Windows platforms on February 19, 2013.

Star Trek The Game "Salvation" Gameplay Trailer »

The latest trailer for Star Trek is here! Titled 'Salvation,' this brief look at the game is actually a pretty dynamite assortment of gameplay clips the breathe and bleed Trek (via All Games Beta). You've got phaser blasts flying to and fro, and transporter moment, and Spock's iconic Vulcan Nerve Pinch.

Digital Extremes' Trek game attempts to fill in the narrative gap between J.J. Abrams' 2009 reboot and this spring's Star Trek Into Darkness, which hits theaters on May 17, 2013. Star Trek (the game, not the movie) comes to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Windows platforms just a few weeks earlier, on April 23, 2013.

Tomb Raider "Monastery to Medical Helicopter" Walkthrough Video Part 1 »

Lara Croft isn't going to have an easy time in Tomb Raider, as this new 11-minute clip of gameplay footage demonstrates. She runs, she shoots, she sneaks, she leaps, scales, and shimmies, but she's also slowed down by nagging wounds and susceptible to hazards both natural and human-made.

Watch along above as Lara carves an unlikely -- and partially unintentional -- route down a mountain for herself, transitioning from typical running and platforming to being carried along by a rushing river to a last-minute parachute save. The descent ends up aggravating wounds sustained earlier, leaving the heroine hobbled and cut off from her traversal abilities.

Tomb Raider is shapping up to be quite an intense experience, twisting the core ideas of the series for a much darker and more hopeless adventure. Then again, this is Lara Croft we're talking about. Don't ever count her out. Tomb Raider arrives on March 5, 2013.

Electronic Arts confirms that an apparent Dead Space 3 glitch allowing for easy resource farming is not a glitch and won't be patched out of the game. The publisher has taken some flak recently for the use of microtransactions in the Visceral Games release that allows players to spend actual dollars on in-game resources. An EA rep notes that resource farming is an intended feature, so there's nothing to fix.

"The resource-earning mechanic in Dead Space 3 is not a glitch. We have no plans to issue a patch to change this aspect of the game," EA's Jino Talens said in a statement to GameFront. "We encourage players to explore the game and discover the areas where resources respawn for free. We’ve deliberately designed Dead Space 3 to allow players to harvest resources by playing through the game."

"For those that wish to accumulate upgrades instantly, we have enabled an optional system for them to buy the resources at a minimal cost ($1-$3)."

Aliens Colonial Marines

The very telling evidence is accurate: Aliens: Colonial Marines will be supported by Gearbox Software with enough post-release content to merit a Season Pass (via Sega Blog). The $30 token will be good for four content packs in all, with the first one -- Bug Hunt -- coming in March 2013. The Season Pass will be available for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC; no mention of Wii U.

Bug Hunt is a Horde-like co-op mode that plays out on three mode-specific maps. There isn't any mention of player count for this mode, but expect it to be four based on the way campaign and the No Escape co-op mode work. Three additional DLC packs will follow Bug Hunt, with the final one to be released by or before August 2013.

SimCity Limited Edition "Heroes And Villains" Gameplay Trailer »

Electronic Arts and Maxis are giving fans a second chance to give SimCity a whirl, with another closed beta set to begin on Saturday, February 16, 2013 and end the next day on Sunday, February 17. Just like the previous beta, participants will be able to sample a one-hour chunk of the game. It's enough to get a feel for the new face of the series, but many of the core features remain blocked off until release.

To get in on the beta, head over to the sign-up page on the game's official website. Act quickly though, as registration closes on February 11. SimCity makes its way to Windows PCs on March 5, with a Mac version to follow later this year.

2K Reboots XCOM As First-Person Shooter

That other XCOM game, that one that was originally revealed to be a first-person shooter hybrid, is still in development at 2K Marin following multiple delays and a string of "no comments" concerning its status. The game came up during Take-Two Interactive's latest investor call (via Joystiq), confirming that 2K Marin "continues to make progress" on the game.

It's now looking like the XCOM shooter won't be making its way to gaming platforms until later this year, or perhaps early 2014. The game is on track for a fiscal 2014 release; Take-Two's fiscal year runs from April 1, 2013 through March 31, 2014, so that's the window we're looking at. Provided those plans don't change, you can probably expect to hear more about the game during the coming GDC-E3-Gamescom-PAX trade show gauntlet.

DayZ continues to shamble ever-forward toward its eventual standalone release, and ArmA 2 mod creator Dean "Rocket" Hall can prove it with this new video blog. There remains no set release date for DayZ; the footage here looks fairly rough, but Hall has said previously that he's a fan of Mojang's Minecraft model of post-release development.

Don't expect too much from this first of a planned series of video blogs; Hall, along with Bohemia Interactive's Matthew Lightfoot, sticks primarily to the game's clothing, map, and interior locations. Visually, the game is looking solid, but it's hard to say how far along development is based on what's shown here.

New BioShock Infinite Details

BioShock Infinite is slightly less than two months away now, and a newly revealed Xbox 360 Achievements list may help tide you over during the wait. The list is entirely spoiler-free from a story perspective, with all narrative-related cheevos seemingly locked away behind secret Achievements.

The larger, visible portion of the list contains plenty of new information as well, it's just more in the vein of content and features. You can, for example, find a full list of weapon names and types. You'll also learn how many Vigors (think: Plasmids) there are in the game, overall.

There are also a few cheevos related to the previously teased 1999 Mode; one for unlocking it, another for completing the game in it, and a third for completing a 1999 Mode game "without purchasing anything from a Dollar Bill vending machine." If you're only worried about story spoilers, know that you can read this list freely without fear.

The outstanding facial capture work of Depth Analysis was a key ingredient in Rockstar Games' L.A. Noire, and this newly released outtakes montage highlights just how capable the company's MotionScan technology is. The 32-camera setup captures everything about a person's performance (their face only) then reconstructs it as a virtual character. Even when said real-life actor screws things up.

Such is the case with this collection of clips, which delves deep into Uncanny Valley. L.A. Noire did a fine job skirting past the subconscious discomfort that many people feel at the sight of a "too real" digital creation, but that careful balancing act tumbles as you watch these actors break character after flubbing a line. It's really neat too, and the technology will only improve over time. For now though?

KILL IT! KILL IT!

Sleeping Dogs

Square Enix has a treat for Sleeping Dogs fans, in the form of more DLC. It's not just *a* treat either. It's a *lot* of treats, to the tune of five content drops to be parceled out over the first three months of 2013. January's already behind us, so that leaves a two month window for this stuff to arrive in.

Some of this stuff is out already. Specifically, the Movie Masters Pack, which was released earlier this week on January 29, 2013. That pack, along with several of the others, add nothing more than new costumes to the game. There are two proper content expansions however, that both add new missions and other content to Wei Shen's world.

Check out the details for all five of these content packs after the jump, and stay tuned for news on specific release dates as they emerge.

Troy Baker To Voice Jake Mueller In Resident Evil 6 -- Official Comic-Con 2012 News

Resident Evil producer Masachika Kawata had some ear-perking things to say in a new interview with IGN concerning where the series is at right now and where it's headed. He does use the word "reboot," something that many believe the series sorely needs after the failure of Resident Evil 6 to be... you know... good, it's not entirely clear if that's the path being taken for whatever comes next.

"I think a lot of what people want now is to have Chris and Jill in a game, or they want it to look like Resident Evil used to look like. That’s what makes the game work for them. We should be able to start from scratch and reboot it. It would still be Resident Evil. We wouldn’t lose the essential nature of what makes it a good game just by changing the characters," he said. Not exactly a commitment to change. There's hope though!

Killer Is Dead Confirmed For Summer 2013 Release

XSEED issued a press release this morning detailing its 2013 slate, and sure enough, Grasshopper Manufacture's Killer Is Dead is listed among the upcoming titles. Previously confirmed for release in Japan only, we now know for certain that XSEED will publish the game in North America for a summer 2013 release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles.

That's not all for XSEED in 2013, however. Joining Killer Is Dead this summer is the Nintendo 3DS RPG Rune Factory 4. A pair of PlayStation Vita titles will follow in the fall: Valhalla Knights 3 and Ys: Memories of Celceta. Next up, however, is Ys I & II Chronicles, an enhanced remake of the first two games in the series that is set to hit PCs sometime in February.
